While I understand that there's a need to discuss this matter, this thread has way too many trash posts in it. Please think carefully about what you want to say. Ad hominem attacks on Swedish people in general, calling you fellow Starcraft fans idiots etc etc will be dealt with with harsher punishment from here on out. Keep it civil people.

Page 230: Here's some more stuff that'll get you banned!
- Conspiracy theory mongering about MLG and GOM
- Comparing people to Hitler
- Posting useless one liners of arguments that have already been repeated ad nauseum.

I assume he left his hand on the keyboard

Best of one is never a serious concept to start with, it rewards all ins and cheeses and probe rushing is an all in, so where do you draw the line in what all ins are ok, and what ones are not?

I mean he played under the games rules, if the games were entertaining or not is based on opinions of the viewers and people don't share the same opinions so basing it on that is flawed in it's own right.

How many free opportunities at GSL does Naniwa really deserve though? Hasn't he been in 2 Code A's, World Tournament, GSTL and Blizzard Cup now? He has NO results from any of these tournaments. I'm not sure he even deserves Code S in the first place. Stop handing out opportunities to the SAME person to flop. I like Naniwa but I also like this decision regardless of this week's drama.

Are you somehow suggesting Idra deserves it more? Wow.

Can the thread title be renamed?

Seeing how Slasher (MLG representative and all) has stated that Nani wasn't actually awarded a code S slot for his providence performance, a more accurate title would be 'GomTV decides not to invite Naniwa to Code S January'.

Isn't it kinda weird, that he waited all this time to tell us?

I cant believe there are so many ignorant people... If you watch the GSL you are paying to watch the cultural and the games thats based off a Korean model. If a foreigner wants to participate, fine. BUT play the rules and the cultural norms! There is nothing wrong with what Naniwa did by some of your standards, yes. BUT THIS IS GSL we are talking about. And this is the exact same reason why "foreigners" are frowned upon or simply "aren't good" enough. Because there is a simple lack of professionalism or etiquettes! You don go around doing your jolly business visiting other people's work place. You play by the rules and live by them if you wanna a piece of it.

Frowning upon "foreigners" just because their culture is different? Not very professional!

Stop kidding yourself. GOM didn't care if Naniwa wanted to win or not. They were pissed because he didn't give them the show they wanted. If they played it like the showmatch GOM wouldn't have complained. They were annoyed about the lack of entertainment not that Naniwa "didn't want to win".

If the difference between 2 thrown games is the amount of buildings built, they should state it more clearly.

It matters because it has the same chance of winning and is a strategy that decides the game quickly.

Yes, taking his hands off was over the top, agreed. But Naniwa was not raised in a culture where you're not supposed to show any emotions. He was very disappointed about losing the first three games so close - and they all all-inned him - what led to him showing emotions.

I've seen someone win a GSL match after 6pooling (I think it was July). Have you ever seen anyone win with a probe rush in GSL, or even in a league higher than bronze? Nope, so it doesn't have the same chance of winning.

Because Nestea would have shown a completely new level of inspiring play never before seen in that match, right? And what does his birthday have to do with anything? Naniwa gave him a birthday present -- a free win so he didn't have to go home 0-4. Really, he was being kind. (Sarcastic, of course, but the point is that Nestea's birthday is irrelevant and therefore hilarious.)

Aw no way! So sad I don't like nani personality to much but this is extreme IMO maybe a warning that he was previously given and he ignored is the reason? I love his style though he is so good il miss his performance

This. Gom doesn't give 2 shits about the integrity of the game. They care about the purity of the image and the entertainment of the fans.

I think GSL made an example out of him, I really think they should have gave him an warning, since it was kind of a letdown, even tho the game didn't matter in the tournament a "Naniwa vs NesTea" is (for me at least) very interesting.. anyway, I think they where too harsh and my reason to buy a ticket went out the window faster than Naniwa pulls his probes

Honestly, as blind as you might be to it, if GOM didn't punish NaNiWa for his actions, then most Korean pro gamers, and most Korean fans would have trampled all over GOM with so much criticism that GOM would have had to have come out with a public apology and then punished NaNiWa later, or make super strict rules about match throwing.

Just because you're an idiot and can't realize the justifications GOM has for doing this, you and the other senseless idiots who will protest against GOM are nothing compared to the protests that would have happened and actually made a huge impact against GOM if GOM hadn't punished NaNiWa.

Which BBBPrime never did.

At least his strategy was legit.

Naniwa's Probe all-in wasn't even effective, PLUS he didn't even bother microing the probes for their shields to generate.

He had his FUCKING HAND on his chin FFS.

I'm not watching the GSL to experience Korean culture. I don't give a shit about ANY culture. I want to see entertaining games, and I sure as fuck got that with Naniwa's game against Nestea, I've never laughed that hard at a SC2 match.

Others in that position may have tried 70%

Is 10% enough? 20?

nobody knows. 0% is enough for sure tho, and that's all it matters for this case

Wouldn't 0% be just gg and leave the game?

nah what naniwa did was 0%. if you watched the vod you would agree..
