Both sides of this argument have made errors: GSL for using a poor format, and NaNiwa for disrespecting the league. That means that one side has no right to take control of the situation, because neither of them are in the right. There needs to be a mutual acceptance of every mistake made that led to this situation. This, to me, looks like a selfish way of dealing with the present circumstances. I do not like how this is turning out.

It's certainly not a rare occurrence for officials to make a personal judgement for fines/punishments for player actions in other sports. Um, he didn't break any rules so he shouldn't be completely taken out from Code S. I hope you realize Code S is the hardest tournament to get through, all he wants to do is be a good player. Actually, if you watch real sports, there are rules placed for EVERYTHING, as long as the players do not break any of the rules, they are not wrong. Please don't be a noob at both real sports and esports.

Add that with the Korean culture ... this was pretty much a given.

I feel like I lose interest in the legitimacy of GSL because GOM chose an easy cop-out to make its Korean viewers happy. The Blizzard Cup and the GSL Code S are separate entities and Naniwa broke none of the rules of play.

Hero played as he always does, tried the WP sentry drops etc, DRG just shut it all down and outplayed him plain and simple. So, the commentators watching and mentioning it, and the viewers watching and writing about it were all wrong. If you take that position there's not much to be done.

Or is it just temporary ban and he will retain his Code S next season? That seems fine too. But it's too unfair to pull him out completely and have him to start over. Hell, I won't be suprised if Naniwa leaves Korea now.

From the original GSL thread. - You must be at least 12 years old. - You must have your own Battle.net account. - You must fill out the registration form on the website. - You must be able to participate in the offline preliminaries. - GomTV can deny your participation if you are found unfit to be a gamer. Naniwa broke a rule, people get over it. He spit on Korean culture with his actions. He fucked up, simple as that.

Yup, thats why Korea is miles ahead compared to everyone else when it comes to E-sports. "Amateurish" is not the best word to describe Korea and E-sports.

So, thank you Gom for doing being overly harsh and I hope to see good games in the future.

Hell, I won't be suprised if Naniwa leaves Korea now. I think they took away his Code S plus banned him from partipaction in the upcoming next Code A + Code S. So I think he won't be in it until February or March when the #2 starts. It will be interesting to see if he decides to stay however or walks away.

NaNiwa made a stupid decision, I don't think anyone could dispute that, but to be punished for something that broke no rules is ludicrous. No, I'm kinda sad that people didn't see this coming. Naniwa just did something that was a bad move for someone who was intending on trying to break through in the GSL. If they don't put a stop to this by doing something like this, it'll never stop. Just play that damn last game 'normally', using two hands.
