The problem is that IT IS the internet not real life, anyway i behave pretty much the same in person than in the internet, for example if in the next WCG eri shows pics of his baby with zia you can be sure that if im there im going to yell " ID HIT IT!!! The big difference is that Zia is an adult (or close? I'm not clear on actual age..) who is a member of this site herself and has shown a tolerant sense of humor, something that's been shown and demonstrated clearly on this board. And even if she did take offense to sexual references or jokes from members on this forum, she is fully capable of defending herself or making her displeasure known. FuDDx's daughter is not a member of this forum, she is not able to speak up for herself, and instead has her father speaking on her behalf as he should. She is too young to defend herself and point out what kind of socially retarded members we have on this site, but fortunately her father is not afraid of speaking up for her and his wishes should be respected. There's more to be pointed out but if you still don't get the differences then I'm not going to bother. It's late, I'm tired, and it saddens me when I think of how many people whose primary social interaction with other people is via the internet and the implications of it. | ||

but I think any subject can be made into a joke.. and considering the "I'd hit it" is a reoccuring reply to any picture of a girl here, posting it as a reply to a guy posting a picture of his daughter is a GREAT inside joke, and if not for the fact that someone already replied to mani with the same post, then it's something I could very well have ended up posting myself.. yes, sure, fuddx was offended, and if I try really hard then I can probably understand why. but baal's response was perfectly fine. his intention wasn't offending fuddx, it was humouring the rest of us, and he succeeded, at least with me. I don't think "I can say this cause it's the internet" is a good reasoning though, and that's also why I added "or "don't get offended, period." works as well." to my post. but like, baals post wasn't at all comparable to him just walking up to a stranger and saying "I'd fuck your preteen daughter". it was comparable to a large group of people sitting around showing eachother pictures of girls where the hot ones got a "I'd hit it" response from the different members of the group, and AFTER THAT, some guy shows the rest a picture of his daughter, and then one of the guys says "I'd hit it". it's OBVIOUSLY a joke to anyone who has been here a while, but it's not funny unless you're acquainted with the "I'd hit it" phrase. I mean I hate explaining jokes and all, and I'm certain you guys got it. the thing is that you cannot equate what he said to walking up to a stranger and saying that, he only said it because there is a large group of people who will read it, and if there was ever a real life scenario where a large group of people do anything comparable to this thread/this forum, then it would be funny in real life as well. thus, he can be the same way in real life as he is on the forum without being a total ass in real life. (although I think he very well might be ) context is everything. | ||
