the way i see it my friend: she gave u a compliment, and you returned the favor by being a dick ...

i'm not a religious man myself, but if someone ever says that to me, i'd just kindly reply "thank you" at the very least ...

i'm pretty pissed when people keep bringing religion up and try to shove it down my throat, but people who try so hard to tell the world that they're not religious annoy me even more :/

Lol, wtf? Someone gives you a compliment on your work ethic and happens to use a religiously-based expression, and you take it as a moment to put yourself on a soapbox about your lack of religiosity?

A lady compliments you, you give a meek response instead of saying thank you, and then your proceed to basically tell her off...and then YOU get affronted when she gets upset? She barely even mentioned religion, she was merely complimenting your character... (ironic in retrospect...)

Yup, its true. If I had said "by the spirit of the moon! you a quite a good kid!" theres no reason to say anything but "thank you" and smile.

Stand up for your beliefs, but don't push them all over the place. It's what Atheists have long accused Christians of when some of them have started doing the same. Just live your life and be happy.

Note that this turned into a mini-rant; it wasn't fully directed at you since what you did wasn't awful or anything, just slightly rude.

You're an atheist man -- you know there is no god, yet you let this person mention some mythical super hero and let her get away with telling you to burn in some fictional place? You had to feel that the lady was delusional, yet you didn't even try to help her? I'm surprised you didn't try to mug her, too. In seriousness, how hard is it to say "thanks"?
