After reading all of these threads about how overpowered Brood Lords are, I decided to play some games, trying to incorporate them in my build. What I discovered is that they're simply terrible units! Let's look at the facts:
Brood Lords require the most tech of any unit in the entire game.
Spawning pool -> Lair -> spire -> infestation pit -> Hive -> Greater Spire -> Corruptor -> Brood Lord.
Brood Lords move ridiculously slow!
Every unit in the game can easily catch up to and kill brood lords. Even terran buildings can fly faster than Brood Lords -_-
Brood Lords cost a huge amount of gas and minerals (300 min, 250 gas). AND, you have to get rid of a Corruptor, pretty much the only thing that was defending the Brood Lord in the first place, to get one.
The spawn Broodling is useless, They just evaporate against anything, and the slow ass Brood Lord can't get away from anything once your Broodlings are gone.
Lastly, what kind of an air unit that costs this much, takes this much tech, and moves this slow doesn't shoot air? What a useless unit.
I'm just finding that I get psi-stormed to death or killed by super fast, super efficient Vikings and I have no money to support anything else!
If anytihng, Brood Lords need some serious buffs! I think an increased firing rate and evolution from Mutalisk is in order!

if everyone else thinks they are op and cant find a good counter, the problem probably originates with you. learn to use them correctly rather than just rushing to them randomly and a-moving them blindly

To be fair, not everyone else thinks they are overpowered. Just because they rape midgame armies it doesn't mean that a properly composed lategame army isn't going to do well against them.

I'm sorry but I dont think that any of the points you bring is relevant besides the slow movement speed.
The is a replay somewhere (KHB vs some terran) when 5 broodlords and 6-8 investors attack terran army and end up victorious

conclusion. OP thinks fast teching to make 3 broodlords is how you "go broodlords" which is not the case. teching to hive is a slow process my brotha. broodlords are epic rape in cognito with your mid game army kk?

OP meant over-powered long before it did original poster it's just people didn't call foul as much as they do now becuase sc1 is a mature game and calling foul will get your called out for being an idiot scrub thinking something is imba but now everyone calls imba crap left

I agree with op on some points. I'm currently rank 3 in plat div 16 (eepy.bendez).
They are just too damn slow. Any decent player can snipe them with AA and retreat.
For 300/250, they are simply not cost effective.
It should at least be fast enough so that I can micro when they focus fire on it, or buff its health so that it can withstand some fire.

Sorry this OP lacks discussion it's just a personal rant against brood lords better suited for your blog space.
