I was wondering what ever happened to Kal's PvZ and although it's still not as good as before, the poor bastard has had SO MANY games vs such excellent ZvPers this year.pre-2009 Kal has a 67+% winning ratio vs Z. 2009 he has had 40%. BUT he has had to play Jaedong, July, by.hero, AND Zero in a Bo3 this year (not to mention facing JD and luxury in his Batoo OSL group). He's been a goddamn punching bag for S-class ZvPers all year :\

It's okay. Chillax. He gets to play a PvT punching bag today. =)

what?
fbh's last PvT win was against Rock, he should beat Kal easily imo

I'm sorry. Rock is totally awesome, so therefore FBH should beat Kal. I forgot about Rock's pro PvT.
what the hell is with FBH being so bad at TvP, he has jangbi and stork to practice with!
it's probably not suited to his play style, TvP the terran has to play so feminine and defensively and always respond to what the toss does, not what FBH likes at all xD

He spends more time practicing his ceremonies instead of practicing with Stork and Jangbi.
The most telling example of FBH's suck was when he attacked the dragoons at his 1 o clock expo by moving his tanks right up to the goons, sieging while the dragoons where shooting at them, and only afterwards running up his vultures. Any noob would know how to siege up at a distance.
But maybe his micro was poor because he was busy building turrets and laying mines all over his main to stop a recall... wait...
I can't believe FBH is 60% in TvT with his awful unit positioning.

good point!
not that i mind though, i'd rather his ballerness than him being good at TvP!
hahaha, commentator noting the irony of FBH's mediocre TvP in spite of Jangbi and Stork both being on his team, then saying "maybe he doesn't practice?"

that's not particularly ironic
explain.
Being good at a MU is usually helped by a mentor of the same race. Stork and Jangbi won't be as much help at TvP as someone like Flash or Fantasy.

It's not even really surprising. Since when does having good practice partners at a match-up mean that a player will be good at that match-up?
Major drop from Kal at the natural meeting with more success than FBH's earlier failure of a vulture drop.

true. u could ask the same question about why bisu´s pvt is his weak point despite having the currently best tvp´er and the 2 greatest terrans of all times on his team. advice from players of the other race simly dont seem to help as much as advice from a seasoned player of ur own race.
or even more evident: why arent killer and ggaemo great zvz´ers despite practicing with jaedong?
FBH's control this game is definitely lack luster. He keeps sending his vultures out to die instead of protecting the tanks, plus that mine just killed like 5.

he doesnt seem to care at all. he´s rather like "finally the interruption of my holidays is over, now i can fly back to hawaii to sit there with a drink, my shades and some girls, being the pimp i am". *gg*
well, I realized VLC is working again and since I don't really approve of that Korean dubbed Dragonball copied anime... I'm going to stream OGN channel..... so anyone come in and join! ^_^
6 lurkers morphing. Looks doomed to fail against Leta's tank/wraith heavy army. Leta has scouted MyDream's main and has put down scanners. Okay, doom drop inc.
GG it feels as though if the Zerg morphed like half a dozen lurkers with the dozen random hydras he had running around, he could've held that attack and still had a chance
I was a bit surprised. Leta's TvZ looked very sloppy in that first game, even if he won by a lot. At least I felt that he didn't look as good as Flash or Fantasy...
Yeah, I wouldn't say it was close at all. Notice how Leta had enough defense at home for the attack while still rolling over MyDream's natural with a huge army.
On August 12 2009 14:19 29 fps wrote: leta - one trick pony? i felt that he got lucky this time
Leta certainly loves his 2-port, but this didn't feel like a lucky game to me. He just outplayed his opponent, despite a good effort from MyDream. The 2-port barely even played a role: the wraiths were not much more than scouts + a little help with defense.

He needed a quicker third and hive tech at least starting.

have you seen fantasy try to use mnm? roffles
No..FANTASY HAS THE BEST TVZ. Seriously fantasy using pure MnM looks like fbh controlling a mech army vs toss a good portion of the time. If you wanna talk about godly MnM control you talk/think about Flash, Sea, Hwasin, Casy, Sheis even Iris when he actually has his eyes on the units, but fantasy no.
I have seen him beat Jaedong with it.
You must be confusing that with some cheese rush, or mech opening into MnM with like 8 TANKS!! Supporting. Thats a bit different.

Yeah, Fantasy's gotten better with MnMs. He maybe not have uber-micro like Hwasin, but he's smart with them.

Yeah, I have. On the same map, and vs the best zerg ever.
9 pool gas trick for 10 supply vs (surprisingly) a standard wall-in from Leta. Map is Outsider.
Scratch that--Leta built his barracks forward instead of walling in, but he pulls SCVs to block the narrow ramp in time to defend against the early zerglings.
And even still guys, 1 match isnt exemplar of his usual play..I mean shine looked pretty damn flawless vs yarnc in that osl/msl? set where he 2-0d him, but his control is usually mad garbs. Either way sunnyveil is correct in pointing out fantasy isnt some kind of MnM control god.
Leta gets a bunker up just in time to defend a counter-attack that he was not expecting to have to defend. Hydras basically containing Leta at the moment.

Idra plays standard not 8 rax vulture harrass into 2 port, Im not sure if the same situation would even present itself for that to happen. Of course theres always the good ol' 20 speedling attack for standard play.
On August 12 2009 14:33 Athos wrote: LOL, that one vulture snipe completely screwed Leta over. You can see that his whole build was built around keeping that vulture alive.
So it can fend off the 12 hydras? I doubt the vult would've made a difference in a hydra build.
That was pretty sexy. Leta should have at least used his scvs to try and thwart away the hydras. I honestly think that was a slightly early GG, I know he had his reasons but might as well.
GG either way, nice to see a pro have to work for this win. If Leta just straight up plays he should be able to plow over him.
On August 12 2009 14:36 qrs wrote: Sometimes you play worse against amateurs because you underestimate them. Leta's attempted bunker rush that last game was a bit dicey.
he was doing alright until his vulture got owned in 1 second, that really did him in
Destination. Leta cutely hides his barracks at the side of his base--maybe to make it look like a proxy?--or just for faster scouting. Either way, MyDream's pimp drone scout finds it while it's still building.
and another pimp drone scout takes care of the SCV trying to mine out the mineral patch. MyDream has amazing star sense (or Leta is just predictably cheesy).
attempted 3-vult runby almost defeated by sunken + lings/drones on ramp, but one heavily damaged vulture gets into the main. This could be trouble for the zerg...
but seriously guys, this dream guy will never be a good progamer... no matter how hard he just defeated his opponent, one view at this whiny face will boost his opponents moral up again... with such a face u cant win mindgames XD
that amateur apparently told the commentators that he would be "the next generation's jaedong"
i only caught games 2+3 but was told game 1 was quite good. his play in games 2 and 3 was actually quite good. game 3 he could have won but let that second group of vultures in and then screwed up vs the mines a whole bunch. overall i really liked his decision making in both games i saw. this kid will definitely be a progamer very soon.

Do you know if he is getting drafted in the mid-year draft sometime this week? If so, have any particular teams looked specifically at him?
the next draft is in.......september i think? he can't get drafted until then. i dont know what team he is a practice partner for..if he wasn't before he definitely is now. i also don't know if he won courage.
So if I missed these matches, is there anyway to watch them immediately after? I usually wait until youtube but I have a few hours to kill and they usually aren't uploaded until a full 20 or so hours later (which is actually extremely quick in all honesty).
You can either pray for a fast upload on youtube, or use wfbrood.com Look for the links that have the words VODs in them. You do need a decent internet, as their server is located in China. Here's the link for tonight's games: http://www.wfbrood.com/xingji/hanguoxingji/xingji_40487.html

As well as an amateur could possibly play against Leta. I really liked his gameplan throughout the these games but Leta has ridiculous vulture micro that proved too much for Mydream in the third game.
Unimpressed by MyDream. His all-in play was alright, but the last game was just bad. After defending the initial vulture run-in -- fairly well-done -- he changed NOTHING. No new sunks, no extra buildings to wall vultures. Instead, he pumped drones. Too greedy with drones; it was an easy game for Leta.
this kid is amazing. needs lots of polishing, but tremendous decision making and upside. There are still significant flaws in his play, but there are enough amazing things for me to be really excited. I haven't felt this way about an amateur since effort and honestly he impressed me less.
