If it was just a single Bo7 and STX got eliminated yesterday, I'd've been fine with that. A bit sad that STX loses, but at least it was fair and logical.

But this crap? -.-

Have you ever watched tennis? A basketball playoff series? A team needs to win what matters, not useless numbers...

Maybe you should be blaming the players instead.

Games don't lose themselves.

Gay format. It should be 7-5 for STX.

Hahaha are people really complaining about the format? Both teams knew very well how it worked. They understood that matches mattered, not games. KHAN did what it needed to win on fair ground?

This guy wins the thread. But yea, props to Jangbi on that old retro build. Such good timing.

Not liking the format is fine. This doesn't mean it was unfair, though- Khan won fair and square.

Can someone explain how STX was arrogant?

Celebrating when they saw their Calm would be facing Jangbi, treating it as an auto-win, and Calm playing a greedy build with little respect for his opponent.

tbh it really did seem like an autowin, Calm has great ZvP and Jangbi is kinda.. sucking it in PvZ

Yeah, but they were all smiles & high fives... the SC Gods hit them with a karma-bolt.

Khan won first round 4-3 and STX won second round 4-1. Ergo STX won more matches but still had the chance to play the final ace match.

That's why I think it's a bit unfair.

If the results were reversed with STX winning just like how Khan did, would you be calling for STX to hand over the win to Khan in the name of fairness?

It's basically like tennis, with each set of games counting as a set. Khan won the first set 4-3, STX took the second set 4-1. Instead of playing a third set, they jumped straight to sudden death with an Ace Match to settle the tie. Khan won the sudden death match, so they take the series.

Doesn't matter if you win 6-0, 6-0 in first two sets of tennis, if you lose the next three 6-7, 6-7, 6-7 you still lose the match.

It's perfectly fair. It doesn't matter if you win 4-0, or 4-3 it's the MATCH COUNT not the GAME COUNT that determines the winner. Hence, it's either 2-0, or 1-1 then super Ace to win the entire thing. If game count matters then the team that goes 4-0 wins the match and can get fucked over if the other team wins the other 3 games and more tomorrow even though they "finished" the match ala NORMAL PROLEAGUE RULES.

What you people complaining about are asking for is a change to the fundamental way PL works. That would be stupid and unfair to the teams.

The fact that both teams understood the system doesn't lend it any sort of credibility. The entire point of a bo7 is to reduce variance and let the most skilled team win. You throw all that out the fucking window when you stage a bo1 as a tiebreaker.

you do realize that if they used the old format the games might have been different, the preparations for the game would have been different and the outcome couldve been different.
so stop talking bullshit like it matters.
khan won, undeserved win imo but there is nothing to do about. i just hope that khan will get raped next round.

Olympics had this format too i think..

They had the country ranking and they are comparing it based on no. of gold medals.. But if you count the no. of medals won instead, the countries ranking will be different..

I'm neutral with this format, but just a little pity for STX as they played their best and showing some very nice games..

Yeah but that gets balanced out by having TWO BO7s before....

After today's result, i gotta admit I feel STX got robbed. I mean yesterday they lose a really close match 4-3. Today they completely dominate 4-1... but it doesn't matter cuz everything is decided into 1 match. Seems like KHAN could have easily thrown away all their games today and still advance with 1 win.

It would be freaking epic if they made them play a third round in winner's league format...

Calling for Khan to hand over the win? I don't think any of us are suggesting that we should be the victors; we're suggesting it shouldn't be over yet.

Can't comment on basketball. Don't know anything about it.

If you compare it to tennis it's like losing 7-5 in sets and THEN playing a tie-break. Just doesn't make much sense.

That makes it even more ridiculous. You put time and effort into making a potential 14 games, but STILL have the ultimate outcome decided by one game.
