But if the first match was barely won with a 4-3 and the other was a 4-1

The fact that both teams understood the system doesn't lend it any sort of credibility. The entire point of a bo7 is to reduce variance and let the most skilled team win. You throw all that out the fucking window when you stage a bo1 as a tiebreaker.

Yeah but that gets balanced out by having TWO BO7s before....

Exactly.

This format strikes a perfect balance between matching team depth and matching ace player skill.

This ace match will be a great confidence jolt into Jangbi. We could very well be seeing a return to form for Jangbi

Stupid format. Ace haven´t been given a chance even

No there is nothing wrong with the format. If STX was the better team they would´ve won both matchdays and not let it go to this Ace and lose it.
We saw a lot of gg´s imho.

Calm doesn't know how to ZvP i think.
I mean he saw the upgrade, and maybe even the citadel, and the corsair was way too late. He didnt know that zealot rush coming ?
the only conclusion i have is that he doesnt know ZvP

Jesus Christ did you even watch the game?

yes i did, please point out what i said is wrong. Dont just make that kind of general reply.
Calm did see the early upgrade. and as a pro he also realized that sair is really late. so he should know at least somthing is coming.

I hate this format. STX 7-6 Khan, and Khan wins. -.-

If they used the old format, which is just one BO7, Samsung would have won yesterday. What difference does it make?

you do realize that if they used the old format the games might have been different, the preparations for the game would have been different and the outcome couldve been different.
so stop talking bullshit like it matters.
khan won, undeserved win imo but there is nothing to do about. i just hope that khan will get raped next round.

Bitter much? -_-

I was happy to see a GG and could have seen either team deserving to make it, but the rabid STX fans in this thread are getting a bit annoying...

Olympics had this format too i think..

They had the country ranking and they are comparing it based on no. of gold medals.. But if you count the no. of medals won instead, the countries ranking will be different..

I'm neutral with this format, but just a little pity for STX as they played their best and showing some very nice games..

wow an STX fan that gets how the playoff format works... thats amazing you should be their leader or something...

No, this is absolutely retarded logic. Having each team win one of the bo7's shows you that they're fairly close in skill. The best way to discern who is better when they are obviously close is to play MORE games as opposed to less. A single game in SC can be a coinflip- I could potentially beat a progamer if I 5pooled him.

why people blaming format when Kahn won first match?

Khan won first round 4-3 and STX won second round 4-1. Ergo STX won more matches but still had the chance to play the final ace match.

That's why I think it's a bit unfair.

If the results were reversed with STX winning just like how Khan did, would you be calling for STX to hand over the win to Khan in the name of fairness?

I'm not calling Khan to give the win to STX, I'm not a big fan of either of the teams. I'm just saying that I don't like the format.

Can someone explain how STX was arrogant?

Celebrating when they saw their Calm would be facing Jangbi, treating it as an auto-win, and Calm playing a greedy build with little respect for his opponent.

tbh it really did seem like an autowin, Calm has great ZvP and Jangbi is kinda.. sucking it in PvZ

Yeah, but they were all smiles & high fives... the SC Gods hit them with a karma-bolt.

Ouch... I suppose just made Samsung's win just that much sweeter for them.

Calling for Khan to hand over the win? I don't think any of us are suggesting that we should be the victors; we're suggesting it shouldn't be over yet.

Dont bullshit yourself, of course you are suggesting that STX should've been the winners. Thats the only reason why you are arguing this, If STX won, you wouldn't have been really complaining as much as you are now

The point of super ace is just that. Some teams have good, deep rosters (STX, CJ, etc.) and other teams have super ace rosters (OZ). Its very fair to give both kinds of teams a chance. If a super ace team manages good snipes/lucky wins/whatever in one set, then they have a good chance of winning. A team that truly has good depth doesn't let that happen and instead wins both sets. Very simple, and it does support the team league idea because teams with more depth have the chance to win first by preventing ace.
