- Your team was destroyed at Round 2 ▲ During sets 1, 2 and 3 I was incredibly furious. During Set 1, Juni should've done the OBVIOUS and reacted against the build like everyone should've done, yet he chose the absolute worst strategy. During set 2, FBH was ahead so so much yet he decided to ruin everything. Set 2 made me angry because it was a very important set for us, but FBH's early build was scouted immediately and did nothing about it. And set 3, yoOn didn't go as we originally planned and decided to do his own bad build.
- But you still had your poker face on ▲ I couldn't be screaming during a playoff game so I decided to keep my cool to calm my team down. Now that we finished our game, these boys need some discipline back in the dorms.
Suprised that noone has commented on this yet.

Bahaha just rewatched the Stork vs Modesty game, that game is pure gold, especially thanks to the awesome, energetic commentary provided by the MBC commentators. When Stork was destroying everything at Modesty's nat/third with his Archon/Zeal army, you can hear the commentators go ARCHON!!! all in unison at the same time, so awesome. They do this again when they see 4 DTs walking around, all yelling out DARKU TEMPLAR!!! at the same time again haha.
I myself would be very interested in the Khan vs STX interviews, seems like January especially has a lot of interesting things to say

I thought it was common knowledge (or at least a widespread rumor) that January was one of the strictest coaches?

I'm pretty sure that's what he was looking for.

But whether or not he "should" have scouted, the key to the game was that Calm never saw the extra gates that Jangbi put down. On the other hand, Jangbi was also rushing blind - he couldn't get a probe in to scout. Just imagine if Calm had out-guessed him and gone fast lurkers. It would have looked like a BackHo-level fail on Jangbi's part.
jangbi's rush was relatively quick. he was cutting probes. calm wouldn't have gotten lurkers out in time. the only way he wouldve gotten lurkers out in time would be if he went 2 base lair, which is absurd on colo.

This is part of their punishment.

It's pretty obvious that Calm just had no idea how to react. The +1 speedlot is a bit faster than the 4 gate archon, and the tell tale sign is an early working forge, which Calm either failed to notice, or interpret correctly.
Also the lack of sairs is a dead giveaway :|
January is a strict coach though :O

well, lack of sairs was supposed to have been made up for the two stargates. Jangbi would have been screwed against 3 hat muta into 5 hat hydra, but that just didn't happen. As soon as jangbi saw that there was only scourge popping, then he knew that he was golden.
His build hit right as +1 finished, and calm might have thought that jangbi was just faking a +1 speedzeal (it's not common, especially on colo off of only 3 gates)...

it all coulda been avoided if calm had his olord in JB's base and not just outside the entrance

Great analysis, I do think Calm would have had to stretch mighty hard for lurkers to pull that off in the timing window JB took though. He barely had his scourge out by the time Jangbi showed up. researching and then morphing lurks and powering drones in that time frame would have been very hard to do. I'm not sure he could have countered it except with more lings + sunks.

I'm glad khan won, but I still hate the format.

Artosis said that KHAN practices the least out of all progaming teams, though.

Well, has the least required number of practice hours, at least.

So is anyone planning on doing the winners interviews?

Stork is the only one that held it together in the match, but then they send in Jangbi to rape Ace. Good move by KHAN.
|
Wow, finally got around to watching this whole 13 game set. And I must say I'm pleasantly surprised by the result. Didn't really gave Khan a chance given their lack of depth. But they really got lucky. Miracle finally played well on TV. And Great somehow managed to pull out 2 ZvZs where it looked like he's screwed, but ended up winning.
Overall though, not very entertaining. Watching lesser modern SC players is like watching robots play. With Modesty v Stork as the shining example of how to suicide cracklings endlessly into triple-upgraded zealot/archon/temp army.
Also, got to add my 2 cents on the STX whining. What's with the whole "playoffs structure is unfair" deal with the STX fans? I mean, you all do realize that the playoffs in of itself is BAD for judging the best teams right? Right?
Best way to judge the quality of a team is by regular season record.
In which case, SKT1 should be the champion of the proleagues. And us non-T1 fans won't even be in a position to even think about being on top. Playoffs structure came about because of entertainment and $$$$$. And thank god there's the playoffs or the entire season would only be about T1 and Oz for the last months or so.

why didn't stx send hero??? Hero is a superior choice vs toss, he's decent against terran and zerg too????
