It could be 3 x bo7.

Oh my God. SuperArc is finally banned, rejoice !

Its cool to see JangBi reacting like that after his win, now I know how charming he is and what we missed when he lost all these starleague finals... Good to see Khan on a roll, I thought I would never see that again

I dont know why you guys complains about the format. its like every sport in the world. What counts is what important.

Its like in soccer the team wins two games 1-0 is better than the team win 10-0 and lose the other game 0-1. its also like tennis like many people talked about here.

The fact that you come to the game means you accept the format.

Like some one said 4-1 and 4-3 are no different, the matter is that you reach 4 wins before the other team. If you reach 4 sooner doesnt mean you are better, it may be because your lineup, etc. Because if STX is better they should have won the first match too but they didnt.

Btw, the moment the STX coach and his team so happy that Samsung sent Jangbi, they deserved to lose. I can understand that a progamer who is still young can do sth like that but as a coach, as a model for your team, you shouldnt do that at all especially in Asia and in Korea. That shows you are bad-mannered and over-confident. He and his team deserved to lose.

My 2 cents.

I dont get how Jangbi beat calm so thoroughly, did he do a tricky build order and thus confuse calm that he was going +1 speed zelots? He seemed so utterly under prepared [and I skimmed through, admittedly]

I wouldnt say anything if STX just lose to Khan like a normal game. But their actions at the end and the fact that STX fans complain about the format now make me to say something.

I think we all pretty much agree now that the tournament structure itself isn't unfair... both teams knew what was in store for them. What might irk some STX fans is that the new format slightly favors a team with medium depth and strong aces over a team with strong depth and mediocre aces when compared to the BO7 format they may have expected. It could very well be that KHAN beats STX only 30% of the time, yet they get an extra chance to hit that 30% and send out their stronger aces (although recently wildly inconsistent). But no matter, it was a good series, GO JANGBI!

um what actions at the end, than? Of fans or the players? I didn't see this live so Im thinking something might of been cut out of a vod, some bm? Anyway, the new format is stupid, I wouldn't call it unfair, because as boe said, the teams know whats up.

what really sucks is how calm just blew it in the last game (completely not scouting Jangbi's main at all but sees the forge spinning but doesn't react in time) and now STX is out of the playoffs. if STX won JUST ONE MORE GAME we'd still be in it. It really sucks, especially when we won more games than khan and 2 of the loses were SO CLOSE too(both ZvZs from day 1)

I guess because everyone was happy that calm was playing jangbi, who JUST got fucking destroyed by hero and played horrible in set 5 while calm's best match-up is vs protoss (assuming he puts his overlord in the protoss' base).

Okay, I just did some math. Note that the scenario I used is not totally representative of what happens here. I don't know what conclusions you can draw from this, but it's still interesting.
Assume that for each game, Team A has 60% chance to win, and team B has 40%, except in a Super Ace match (not normal ace match). For the Super Ace match, the percentages are reversed.

Then, under the old Bo7 format, Team A would have a 71.0208% chance of winning. Under this new format, Team A has a 75.137% chance of winning.

If the percentages are 70/30 then Team A has a 87.3% and 83% change of winning; the winning percentage actually goes down, but not by much anyways.

Stork vs Modesty was lol-worthy. Oh Modesty, you remind me why I put you on my Anti-Team in the first place. So much fail.

And about all the format whining, in my opinion, the format is fine. The whining was inevitable anyways. It's just like any other sport. You're probably going to hear the inevitable complaints about how "bad that umpire was," or that "Pass Interference that never was called." Same situation here. If Khan lost, their fans might have complained about the format of the Final ACE match saying that, "One match is not enough to judge!"

Yea, seeing as how STX fans wouldn't be complaining if everything were reversed.

Calm thought it was fast dts, he was researching ovie speed when the commentators showed it in the replay. hydra + ovie speed 4 hatch b4 lair... im guessing counter dt fast break? im guessing thats what he was trying.

Watching it, I was guessing that Calm was thinking +1/archon timing attack, and planning to hydra-break before that happened. And while I'd tend to agree with the "should have scouted", the question really is, "with what?" Lings weren't going to make it in, and with the OL having to go around the cannon would he actually have seen anything?

But whether or not he "should" have scouted, the key to the game was that Calm never saw the extra gates that Jangbi put down. On the other hand, Jangbi was also rushing blind - he couldn't get a probe in to scout. Just imagine if Calm had out-guessed him and gone fast lurkers. It would have looked like a BackHo-level fail on Jangbi's part.

Okay after taking some time to think I've come to the only possible conclusion that it's pretty obvious protoss is overpowered, I think that jangbi and stork should be banned from participation in the proleague finals and through association their team BANISHED from korea and in it's place STX will replace them of course samsung will not be left without honor, they can dress their entire team in STX uniforms and watch from the audience slapping anybody nearby them that utters any jokes about Julyzerg.

Sounds completly fair and resonable to me.
