STX SouL 4:1 Samsung KHAN

Super Ace: Calm < JangBi

Samsung KHAN advances

How the hell does STX win the series and then this "super ace" win the match? someone elaborate for me?

Because the playoffs format is retarded.

Khan won 4-3 in the first day. STX win 4-1 in the second day, and what happens? One single map to decide which team wins overall, even though STX are technically up 7-5.

STX is up 7-5 in a category that doesn't count for who advances.
Khan is up 2-1 in the category that does.

You lost your chance in the first set to win this thing. Khan has better ace than stx, stx blew it when they lost to khan in the first set.

If you have it by game differential, then STX would of overtaken oz to #2 spot just because oz had to take it to ace so many times during the season.

lol something funny in the Coach January Interview

- Your team was destroyed at Round 2
▲ During sets 1, 2 and 3 I was incredibly furious. During Set 1, Juni should've done the OBVIOUS and reacted against the build like everyone should've done, yet he chose the absolute worst strategy. During set 2, FBH was ahead so so much yet he decided to ruin everything. Set 2 made me angry because it was a very important set for us, but FBH's early build was scouted immediately and did nothing about it. And set 3, yoOn didn't go as we originally planned and decided to do his own bad build.

- But you still had your poker face on
▲ I couldn't be screaming during a playoff game so I decided to keep my cool to calm my team down. Now that we finished our game, these boys need some discipline back in the dorms.

Umm, yeah... FBH decided to go ahead with his fast expansion vs a scouted 2fac and ended up massively behind. From there he actually played damn well to hold the game as long as he did.

khan sends out 3 protosses and julyzerg is not playing, what a shame.

That's not how Bo7's work buddy.

How someone wins the Bo7 is irrelevant. It's the fact that a team got to 4 wins first that counts.

Yes, that doesn't change the fact that having it all come down to a bo1 if two teams win a day each isn't retarded. To be honest I wouldn't care if it was just one bo7 and Khan won, but two bo7s is stupid, especially when it can all come down to a single map, regardless of the scores in each bo7 set. A bo3 set of bo5's would make more sense. ie. if 2-3 then 3-1 happened, a third bo5 was played.

That's not really in the spirit of the playoffs though. Repeated Bo5 isn't so different from the normal proleague.
And while I like the idea of the SuperAce match being a Bo3, it's just not realistic. A player would potentially have to practice 5 games vs 3 different opponents on 5 maps. Not to mention 2 games the day beforehand. And it could take a really long time.
Also, since with a Bo3, the result would still be decided by a single player, it would be more fair and more playoffs like if there were different opponents for each game in a Bo3, kinda like WL.
