Game 1 and 2. In Game 1, Luxury is significantly behind then comes back to win it somehow. Game 2, Zero is tricked by Luxury where Zero committed his larvae to drones instead of lings.

It is better that Luxury made it to the finals than Zero. Zero's ZvP is even worse than Luxury and we know how good Luxury's ZvP is . Though Stork and Jangbi's PvZ are strong, Luxury's chances are better if he faces Jangbi instead of Stork. In the OSL, Stork 2-0 one of the twins as well as beating JulyZerg to make it out of the group.

Huh? Luxury is 8-2 in the last 10 ZvP including wins over Jangbi, Bisu and Stork. And you think he has no chance? Jangbi's recent PvZ record isn't solid at all. As far as I can remember, most of those wins are quite cheesy. This series has a really depressing result :-( Luxury vs Yoonjoong - You could say that was cheesy, but I'm confident he'd have won anyway.
Luxury vs JangBi - an amazing comeback by Luxury after Jangbi took his third base out. Great macro and great mutalisk sniping with mass hydra.
Luxury vs Stork - Stork didn't get enough cannons and Luxury's 3 hatch muta into hydraswitch broke him.
Luxury vs Bisu - 5pool, Bisu's pylon to main was quite late... not sure why that is. Anyway, after the 5pool Bisu had like 12 probes and Luxury had 8 drones with a second base coming. I wouldn't say Luxury won because of the opening, but yeah it had something to do with it.
Luxury vs Best - loss
Luxury vs Kal 1 - Luxury opened 9pool speed into 6 lings and double expand. Kal went sair Reaver, Luxury defended it beautifully and completely overran him with mass hydras afterwards. Luxury's macro was amazing in this game as well.
Luxury vs Kal 2 - Kal went for a cannon rush, Luxury defended it beautifully by glitching drones through the minerals by getting to the cannons. Then he ran some lings past Kal's cannons, killed probes, finished with mutas
Luxury vs Jaehoon - Luxury went for 9-pool speed into a ~12 speedling runby. You could say that that's cheesy, but on a flat map like Medusa I actually consider it a standard opening. Luxury managed to sneak about 5 lings inside and killed numerous probes to seal the victory.
Luxury vs Nbs - loss
Sooo about most of the games being cheesy... I'm going to assume that you're a huge Bisu fan and only watch his games. Am I correct?

+1!
I can't believe people still posting about this holy sh.... It's not even funny

stoopid zero. he takes out savior then gets his ass handed to him. im kind of surprised it looks like it was easy for lux, but apparently a couple games were pretty epic comebacks. gratz to luxury... but i think even making it one more round would have helped sAviOrs confidince more. i just hope he is working on his Patrol-click muta micro so he can deal better with Zergs in the future. im not too worried about his vP or vT... he uses the zerg well enough for that. okay /end fanboy rant

good job luxury!
but now all the savior fans are pissed o_o~!!

grats to luxury for the win, and i like how he tricked zero in the 2nd game. I kinda feel bad for zero tho, he didnt even get one win

Yes Lux this your MSL!!! Take it from the silver miners!! Bleh........if only this Zero showed up against MJY.

ZerO.
You were the chosen one!

I think people are forgetting that the zerg twins have always played very aggressively.

Omg, one guy writes about Luxury "tricking" ZerO in game 2 and now everyone's like "yay yay that was really cool how he tricked him in game 2" As a matter of fact, Luxury didn't trick him AT ALL. True, he hid his zerglings. But that didn't really play a role in this game, because as ZerO's overlord was moving towards Luxury's base he didn't see any lings at all at the ramp, but he hadn't seen the base yet. It was very well possible that Luxury could be stacking lings somewhere near his hatch, so ZerO should've at least considered it as a possibility. Just because players usually move their lings to the ramp and/or move out immediately, doesn't mean they have to.
Thus it was careless by ZerO to go for so few lings so late. When ZerO actually saw Luxury's lings running out, he saw ALL OF THEM including the "hidden" ones. So what he actually did was go for a total amount of 4 late zerglings without scouting information. And even when he saw all of the lings moving out he produced another 1 or 2 drones before producing another 4 zerglings, which popped by the time Luxury was already in his base.
No tricking, no genius, no cleverness by Luxury, nothing. Just really bad/careless/risky play by ZerO. Maybe Luxury TRIED to do something tricky, otherwise he probably wouldn't have moved those 6 zerglings up in he corner, but against any half-way safe zerg build it wouldn't have worked.

What's even worse are the Jangbi silver jokes that are popping up because he's on Samsung and he lost to like... Bisu I think

Well sorry, my mistake then, I thought that due to zero's overlord spotting the first few lings moving out, he made a drone instead of more lings.

Lux can totally beat Jangbi or Stork. his zvp isn't on the level of JD or July, but it certainly is no slouch. Also Jangbi's PvZ record is super over-inflated due to like 10 wins over yarnc last year lol
|
I think kespa should make all ZvZs no rush 15.
edit: After posting I realized I am actually not kidding.
|
Just watched the vods. Luxury just completely our played Zero. Sad to see such a disappointing semifinal.
|
When that many zerglings come, you build lings, not drones. The fact that Zero built drones is the best proof that he didn't see all the zerglings come from Luxury's base. Even if he did, it was too late to use the larvae for something else.
|
lux's zvp really isn't that great. it's good, but it's not at the level of jaedong / july. and i think that lux has what it takes to perform (i.e. not choke) well in the finals. that said, i think he has a better chance against jangbi than stork. while jangbi is past choking (i guess that's what two consecutive finals vs bisu does to you), his series play isn't as focused on mind games as stork's is. stork can definitely beat lux (3-2), especially since he's probably practicing pvz 24/7 right now to beat jaedong. either way, they should produce some good games
edit: i hope that this isn't a repeat of the ever 2007 osl, where jaedong lost one game then discovered his zvp powers and then destroyed stork. that was depressing =(

Taken from the translated interview about Game 2 http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=89391
+ Show Spoiler +On Destination, you beautifully tricked your opponent
Luxury: On Destination, people usually expand quickly and get 2 gas on opening, so when my opponent's overlord came flying in... he probably thought I expanded somewhere already... so in order to get an advantage... he went with econ.. so I seized the opportunity..

Lux just plain outplayed Zero. Sure, Zero has fantastic muta micro, but if that's all it took to win ZvZ then JD wouldn't be at such a sick win rate in the MU. It has just as much to do with metagame and savvy. Lux is a longtime vet of ZvZ and he was only underdog to JD. I liquibetted Zero just for the hell of it, but it doesn't come as any surprise that Lux won. Lux's play was way more intelligent. Zero was just plain OFF on all his timings and he was so damn greedy with some of his builds. Game 2 and 3 were especially bad.
On Lux vs Stork or JB...Stork's already beaten Lux in Bacchus OSL Bo5. He's also beaten JD and July in Bo3 for WCG. And he's lifetime record 8-8 vs JD. Wtf are some people talking like Stork and JB would get crushed by Lux? Stork has said several times in interviews that JangBi helps him practice vZ and gives him pointers. If Stork can epically rape Lux, how bad do you think JangBi would? Alot of people seem to just have it stuck in their head that Stork is C- PvZ. He's an S-class player. Respect. There's a reason Lux isn't ranked up there with the superstars YET.
