I would guess that if KTF and CJ are tied and KTF beat CJ, then KTF comes out ahead, right?
Since KTF gains a lot for winning 4-1 or better, I think they're going to send Flash second and go for the 4-1.

Your scenarios are all correct. As for the tiebreakers, I know that during the regular Proleague season, if a tie like this occurred at the end of the season then they would have a one-game playoff for the seed. I don't know what the protocol is for Winners League though, they may do the same thing, or the tiebreaker may be head-to-head record.

What really pisses me off, if that STX beat CJ 4-0. If that didn't happen, they would be in much better shape right now. This, and the fact that they could not take down Kal in any game really makes me wonder how good of a team CJ really can be.
All the top players that they have beaten have come from a different player. Iris took down Bisu, Kwanroll took down JangBi, sAviOr took down Yellow and Leta, Skyhigh took down Jaedong. When it comes down to beating Luxury or Flash, which player is going to be the one, if any at all?

They would have less confidence in luxury since he's in both starleagues because he MUST be practicing for them and have you noticed that Luxury has been dropping a lot of proleague games recently? Thats because he's focusing on the starleagues. They would have much more confidence in flash cause all he is practicing for must be proleague right now.

Mmm, I see. However, it is hard to snipe a player like the Rainbow Giants, J/B/F because their momentum and mechanics are so strong. Even if you plan strategies to counter their play, it can be difficult to overcome their micro/macro.

Sorry Lux, but Nbs has to win this. CJ for 1st seed. I predict that Effort or Savior will snipe Flash when he comes out. Or Movie will snipe him with proxy dts, he's been using this very well and getting a lot of wins with this build.

You guys are neglecting the fact that the first map is Medusa. KTF might have wanted Flash to go for a 4-0 with Luxury as a cleaner given that Lux is in both leagues, but even though Flash is AMAZING on Medusa, it still sucks a lot to have to prepare TvP Medusa (while also in theory preparing another 3 maps). Of course, who would have thought CJ would send Nbs first instead of Movie or Much.
I'm guessing KTF is telling Lux "you gotta win first, and try to beat the sniper that comes for you second game, then we send Flash and hope for the best".

I don't know, but Flash makes it seem so easy.
When Flash was on his 12 game winning streak, a lot of people said he looked unbeatable in TvT, and indeed, he was terrific, but his style of play against Terran relies so much on game sense (IE counter drops), so if you're just a little off, you can easily lose.
On the otherhand, Flash's bio builds against Zerg just seem fairly linear and easy. I don't really know what zerg can do to counter it, but Flash has dominated every game since adopting it.
The conventional approach is to get just enough defense to hold off mutas while you tech to vessels, but Flash's approach is to tech very very late (essentially wait until zerg switches to lurkers or until mutas aren't major threat anymore), and just pump tons and tons of marines and turrets. It's working so well.

Iris has been showing up good for CJ lately, I hope to see him play. He usually gets a couple of kills for them. I love his terran so much, even though I hate playing against vultures... his use of them seems pretty tough.

Bio doesn't have a skill/perfect cap while mech certainly does. That's why amazing bio terrans are hard to kill, ala Flash.
A lot of brave souls in here betting on Luxury winning a WL match. Silly people, Luxury doesn't practice for WL lolololol. CJ simply doesn't have a very good response to Flash. Terran are pretty decent on all of these maps.

Hmm Lux put too much into those drops and failed to take out Nbs ... and soon lost to the protoss ball. Macro and tech came too late for him, Nbs mustered up a huge army and pushed at the right time.
Quite solid defense from this new protoss, from then on it was a matter of pushing out before Lux could take the game to late game.

I don't understand. Whenever an S/A (Luxury is about A) rank player loses in a less important match, people blame it on them busy practicing for other matches. But, considering Luxury being a high ranked player, shouldn't he have enough raw skill to beat someone who is unknown?
I know people lose randomly to nobodies, but seriously, don't blame it on them having priority to other matches, blame it on them just playing poorly.

Flash's amazing play lately has been marred by only two types of mistakes.
One is getting a little sloppy on a push in TvP.
The other is bad response to Wraith in TvT.
Unfortunately these two things have cost him both leagues and now cost KTF second place in WL (of course Flash got them there in the first place).

Wow looking at that replay, Much let Flash take out units outside of his nat to make it seem as though Flash had the advantage, and kept his templar-shuttle hidden. Then when Flash sieged up, STORMS all over the tanks, zealots rushing into mines and the remainder of his forces carving up the weakened tanks. From then on it was simple defense against weak vultures and pushing back out.
It still gets me that Much built an expo while that battle was going on. Mantoss style!

Ugh, come on people, how many times does it need to be said - KTF sent Luxury and Flash first because a 4-1 or better would have improved their seeding for the playoffs and thus decreased the number of matches they'd have to play by 1, which is a pretty big deal.
Ordinarily, it makes sense to save your stars for last (with possible exceptions involving maps and stuff) because your lesser players might snipe someone which makes winning easier.
However, in this case, winning 4-2 and losing were no different for KTF (3rd and 4th seed are essentially equivalent) so they went for the 4-1 instead.

2nd seed > 3rd seed
3rd seed = 4th seed
KTF wanted that 4:1 badly so they could get a bye to rest their guys. Instead they got backfired on and Much sniped Flash and now they have 4:2 at best, putting them 3rd. 3rd/4th seed differences are negligible.

Sword in the Moon is the English name for the movie 청풍명월, which is where pachi and I thought the name of the map came from.
Then we found out the intention of the map was of 'Harmony', so I put up a poll when the map just came out. Harmony won the poll and has become the name ever since.
EDIT: I personally think SitM sounds cooler than Harmony.

Much, probably due to practice games, retreated to his min-only side. This forced Flash to mine up the area in front of the choke and siege his tanks on the bottom left side.
Since he was so busy macroing and laying mines, he could not get rid of his own mines and push towards the minonly. Not only that, his tanks would've been exposed had he sieged his tank in an area where they could bombard minonly unless he did it they way he did (slow push with vult support).
And Much, knowing if flash would not hastily push, used arbitor and made some great zealot bombs (about 2~3 killing 5+ vults. Then he stormed and killed 8 tanks, rendering flash's push without firepower.

They've been playing Movie quite a bit, as Much has been slightly slumping. Backho on the other hand plays for OZ, who's not needed cause Jaedong, Hiya, and ForGG have been just cleaning up.

Much's PvT is top3 worldwide if he's willing to play at the level he can... His vZ is quite crappy though, and his VP wanst his asset either. As for Movie, he's a new protoss on the scene, showing some really good PvP, solid mechanics and very good macromeangement when he first showed off, than he was kinda overshadowed by the excellent performance of Cj, in which he dindt take that a too great part

CJ's line up are ballers. Almost all of them has been in a starleague or two. sAviOr, Much, Iris, Kwanro, sKyHigh, Memory.

If KTF won 4-0 or 4-1, then Oz would have taken first and KTF would have taken second place booting CJ back down to third (4-1 would have forced a tiebreaker for second place since they would both be 8-3 with 10 points).

CJ is scary at this point. Almost everyone on their A-Team can take a win off the best. Other teams have so much to prepare for going up against them. Unfortunately, I think the outlook is bleak in the next two rounds because they've had the element of other teams not knowing who to expect while they had snipers for every situation. Now we'll see if they're truly a top level talent or just gods of Winners League.
