The biggest turning point was the first battle.
HwaSin fought Really at such a bad spot that he lost so many vultures.
Really then just had the game in his favor and expanded, added more factories, won with a superior vulture count.

The map hinders maneuverability, why fight a tank if you can just go harass somewhere else? (goliaths too) Also, this many vultures give you a shitton of mines, clearly that out will be a pain.

you can wall off your base and keep 3 sieged tanks there then move out with a goli/tank ball (if you get hit by a mine when you have like 12 goli's you deserve to lose), the vultures have nowhere to harass and your ball is untouchable
don't get me wrong i'm sure it's been worked on a lot by the teams so I guess it's the best thing to do, but I guess that's why im not a terran player : }

Yep yep, Calm is pretty hot. He has been only dropping games to the best players around, ie luxury and free. His record against Terran is pretty good lately, I think he will take this.

A decent number of kills from the vult drop, it got scouted by an ovie at the last second though so calm was able to pull hydras.

This is the Fantasy build, but the kid opened hydra rather than muta, so there's no need for the valks.

But he built valts anyways, which is weird because I think Really knew there was no spire.

Looks like he made one may be just snipe ovies, flew right over some hydras though so that didnt work out too well.

This is cool becuase this is the timing I thought that mass hydra would hard counter the Fantasy build. I think on Destination you're screwed though because of the small bridges.

Really is going for another vult drop. He is killing drones maynarding to calms 3rd. 4th going up for calm. Really is pumping gollies a la fantasy build.

Ahh lurker/hydra drop coming in for calm...but really is prepared and has goliaths right under it. Its still successful though. lost of SCVs dying.
Meanwhile a goliath drop kills tons of drones at calms nat.
Edit: Really is hurting because he has only one comstat and not enough energy.

Calm comes in with hydras, really is forces to pull SCVs. Really doesnt have the scans so lurkers are still tearing up his main.
Looking very bad for really. He lost he academy so he cant build another comstat, he only has the one at his natural. Really isn't mining from the main due to lurkers.

This is really one way to look at it. Destination seems to be a poor choice for the mech build, it just gets crushed.
It was the drop in the main and no scans that ended it for really though. He did a lot of damage with drops of his own in spite of it.

shloober its not a revolutionary build, there is some really obvious counters to it once you study the build properly, but when your in a Semi-Finals of the biggest tournament and your exposed to a build you've never seen before, it's a bit different.
Fantasy lost doin his own build vs effort, and since when can Really not use someone else's build? If that were the case only like 10-15 ppl would be playing BW if you weren't allowed to study and pefect another person's build. Any GOOD zerg users here wanna tell me how many times they have faced the fantasy build lately by all the wannabe's like myself??

Well, it was mostly positioning that allowed him to win the first battle versus Hwasin and basically just dominate from then on. I wouldn't say his macro was perfect as long as forGG is around.

it seems like oov just told fantasy how to use it in specific situations on specific maps. When Boxer and oov come back to SKT1, they might show how to use metal tvz. I think it requires timing that is beyond mere mortals, kind of like flash's 3/3 T metal 2 base katrina build that the pros seem to have trouble using on any other map.

all I said was that a lot of people are starting to adopt the style that fantasy used in that semi-final and more often then not in these pro-games the zergs are running all over them.

People need to calm down about the mech build 'sucking'. It, like any other build, IS MAP SPECIFIC. Terran are fucking using it randomly, and its really annoying. When Midas used it against Savior, I literally flipped my shit - you can't play mech on a worse map.

I've been saying that forever. Either they spend some money one a big name or they pray harder for SangHo to live up to his potential. UpMagic is so washed up and Really just doesn't cut it.
