All maps are meant to be 'imbalanced' in some strategic way or another, if you take imbalanced to mean some strategies being inherently superior. Not all strategies are meant to be valid on all maps; otherwise there'd be no point in making new maps.

Well, we need a larger sample size and examples before saying it's imbalanced, because the presence of a cliff near your base doesn't always make it imbalanced. I doubt any zerg player would allow the tanks to have free reign over the temple. I don't know about protoss though, I don't think the protoss gets contained too often to surrender such large map control. It could be, we'll have to see more games.
On a sidenote, you already lost this argument since a staff member doesn't agree with your opinion.
