Kickass!!
Excellent to see a zerg player win the OSL again.
Not to take anything away from July though, I think he is very, very lucky that luxury eliminated Flash in the quarters.
July's ZvP = godlike but his ZvT, at least in the last few years has been meh. I don''t think he could have beaten flash in a Bo5.

where's fusionsdf?
I enjoyed his posts....
He died after page 45?
|
I'm sad BeSt got beaten so thoroughly :| I'm sure he's pretty shaken after that... Bisu's face was pretty priceless game 2.
|
Ya Bisu's face summed up the whole series. W-O-W
|
Anyone got a pic of Kingdom's face?
|
I felt like July's ZvP was very solid when he played Bisu back then and beat him
However, that doesn't mean that I like July. I always thought he had a bad attitude when he gave that face expression when his opponent's (i think it was Bisu?) connection got errors
I would have loved to see Savior take the OSL instead

Yesssss!! Yessssss!!! Tushin ownage. And for those complaining about the 5 and 9 pooling, in the last game, it sorta backfired at July cause he didn't gain any advantage of it, and STILL overcame that situation, and played macro with BeSt, and STILL he owned him.
Thou shalt not doubt the Tushin.

july just out game theoried best, ez. a player can only achieve that highest eschelon in their chosen game, sport, whatever, when they are able to predict not only what they think their opponent will do, but also what their opponent thinks they themselves will do.
best could not, even though his ingame play was still very good. july capitalized on best (and scoutless protoss's) early game weakness vs. zerg. plus the back to back rushes were just smart, no one expects 2 in a row in any modern day series.

oh god! im so happy!!!!
and for those stupid Best fans (not all of them of course)
hey baby...deserve?
if you cant win against a 5 pool.
if you cant stand after 10min of early game.
AND IF YOU EVEN CANT WIN A MACRO GAME
why would best deserve to be the champion more than julyzerg?
Best is a good player but being a good player means nothing if u cant win finals!
GO JULYZERG!!!!!!!!

2-0 ZvT 2-1 ZvZ 8-1 ZvP 3-0 Final
12-2 Overall
Great run by July for the golden mouse.

Put yourself in July's situation there. He had clearly won the game and, for some unknown reason, the officials were considering having them replay the game.

in the last game, it sorta backfired at July cause he didn't gain any advantage of it I wasn't complaining, I was just saying it's funny You have to admit if that 3rd game had been like the first 2 it would have been a really anticlimactic series. In any case though, July's rush in the 3rd game didn't backfire at all... I'd say July made up for the lings he lost by wasting BeSt's mining time, which made everything slower for him, and by having constant scouting information, which allowed July to cut as many corners as he wanted. That game was July's from the very start.
Although BeSt's game wasn't even up to scratch by the time that 3rd game came around... I think he was so pissed about losing to rushes the first two games, he couldn't play as well after... I mean, how many corsairs did he lose early game? Has Reaver/Sair ever worked on that map? He didn't even get one Reaver drop in any of July's bases, and by the time he got his first DT drop, July had 9 bases to his 2 or 3 (I don't remember if his min only was still going or not).
All in all, I'd say July was pretty fortunate just in the way build orders went and positions appeared in those games, but of course he still played marvellously, and didn't give BeSt any slack once he got them. An anti-climactic series IMO, but I'm still happy July got his mouse. We'll see if he keeps showing results next season.

Are you kidding me? July shut down every trick Best turned up in game 3.
Huge early-game pressure +1 air armor scourge + hydra + drops defended +1 air attack corsair & 6 reavers +2 air armor muta + scourge countered +2 air attack corsair reaver sunken + OL at every expo defended dark templar shenanigans timing guardian pushed back a super strong mid-game ground army by taking out critical reavers ultraling swept up everything else
July knew the last game had to be an epic one, and he delivered a beefy whopper.
