It's not direct scouting path though:
I guess the idea is to trick Soma into thinking he goes 1 base and that location for a hidden Hatch is least expected and to be fair Soma didn't realize it at the beginning. He lost the game because Soma hid his lings so well, not because of that Hatch. If the Hatch was close, he might mitigate the early damage, but would still lose.

It’s more about the randomness of ZvZ. Right now, his ZvZ win rate is below 50% (30–31). That’s not champion material. His vsT is at 50%, but his ZvP is ~64.5% - way better than the other two matchups.

ok but this is not what you said in your original post. All you said is that he can't play ZvZ at a high level.
you also said that ZvP is not enough to win ASL. Check ASL20 playoffs bracket

The poor host and commentators tried to pad this out to 2 hours but couldn't. Even with the 20-minute pre-show and the 15-minute breaks between games, this was still under 90 minutes.

As would be virtually any other ZvZ ending 3:0. Hero even fantasy gged to make it longer  And we had one longer game. Hive is a pipe dream without a patch. Even 3:2 wouldn't be very long. What was the viewership like? Normally, ZvZ is skipped by many.

Mini vs Best many seasons ago was a contender.
Funny that Soma and Mini are quite similar in style (dangerous BoX players, mind game, ruthless, cheesy) while Best and Hero also resemble each other (macro god).

Hi im new here, i play Zerg and i hate ZvZ, but i notice something in those games, i think that soma won all games with one key advantage, the gas before pool. He made that in all 3 games its something thats very unusual. That gave him an edge of 15-20 secs of the Spire creation, wich forced hero in all 3 games to make Spores and gave soma the map control and early muta advantage, also the zergling micro was very sharp from soma. Hero went the standard gas after pool all games. Also i think that somas biuld order consufed Hero on those games. I dont think her played bad just that he was average. What do you think?

I don't know more about ZvZ than any other casual observer, but to me it sure looked like Hero lost games 1 and 2 because of poor execution, not build orders.
