Hello friends!
As you might have heard during the MTLAN stream before the finals, or you might be hearing for the first time, we will be hosting a new Brood War Pro League for the foreign scene!
CSLPRO will be a year long circuit (a little under for the first year), ending with an offline finals each year! This circuit is guaranteed for at least 2 years, and as long as I'm still around it'll keep going for years to come!
The format: First and foremost, there will be NO LADDER STAGES! Everything that happens with seeding and invites to the finals will be done via points. Points will be collected by participating in CSLPRO events, and potential partner tournaments that will also give out points. Now let's talk about what events we'll have:
There will be 2 major events, CSLPRO Winter and CSLPRO Spring. These will be global events, open for everyone outside of Korea! In the leadup to these, there will be regional events, Americas( NASA), Europe (EMEA), and Asia (APAC). These regional events will have smaller prizes, and be leadups to the major events. The grand finals of the season will be at CSLAN in Chicago each year, with a Last Chance tournament in the lead up for people to get points to try and get an invite to the finals. The finals will be a LAN event where everyone can come and play, much like how MTLAN and CSLAN 2 are being held this year.
In addition to the major events, there will be monthly single elim one off events that award points for players as well.
If you want to keep up with what's going on, make sure to join the discord! (discord.gg), and please make sure to check out the streams on Twitch: (twitch.tv) and drop a follow! Just following makes such a large difference!
You can also support via Kofi (ko-fi.com). By signing up for the $25/month tier, you gain permanent access to all the replay packs!
Also, if you want to be one of the CSLPRO casters, please DM me on discord, because I'll be looking for some awesome people to talk starcraft! (you will be compensated for your time)

The only way to put BW on the front page is to do things worthy of the front page. And that’s exactly what we’re working on over here. The easiest way to be noticed is to do something they can’t ignore.

You know you ve made it in BW when one of those troll accounts starts commenting on your tournaments. So good job CSL, welcome to the group of winners

A start would be to stop hiding behind 1post accounts. But i applaud your dedication and you re also driving tl metrics up every time, so thank you for your service! If foreign scene is so boring to you, why come here at all? Also why speak in English and not korean, the obviously superior bw language? May be you do want the foreign scene? Otherwise do yourself a favour and head towards ygosu or your choice of naver place.

What’s the format? Will this be like msl?

The issue is that you're spouting nonsense. If there were nothing happening, you wouldn't have to make new accounts to post in tournament threads all the time to try and convince us that there's nothing happening. But there is a lot of stuff happening, whether you like it and watch it or not. Just let those who do enjoy it, enjoy it. Personally I don't care about Korean BW. I very rarely watch Korean events, but watch a lot of foreigner events. Players who I know from playing against in events and whose streams I can watch and understand. It's way more exciting to me. Who would've thought, that different people enjoy different things? There is no reason to go elsewhere just to spread negativity because it's not what you enjoy. You're the same as the people who kept posting "SC2, WC3, Blizzard suck!" Your comments are very rarely constructive.

Well the TL rules have been in force for 20 years so if you can't read and abide by them it s not our fault.
Also for sc2 and wc3 a lot of bw people also contributed there. I don't know your ID but i d wager i did way more in the sc2 scene than you did for instance.
I know it might be shocking to you but people are able to enjoy and play multiple games at once, some of them are not even RTS (crazy i know, heretical opinion even)
Also why would the koreans wanna play with us with lag and little money? Not to mention timezone and language issues. Makes no sense.
You know in sports you have multiple divisions, and it s the same here. Or would you argue it s ridiculous real Madrid doesn't compete in the premier league? Or that the saudi teams cant play champions league? That's essentially your argument. There are various tiers of tournaments and csl/bsl are below korea. And that s ok. Just like korea has the hugely popular university system featuring d and c rank people. You need the entire ecosystem. Look at sc2 dying in korea because they do not have said ecosystem. Look a wc3, who survived mainly in China thanks to a similar ecosystem.
I m probably wasting my time anyway trying to explain anything to you and you ll post again on any bw thread and get temp banned, but at least you wouldn't be able to say you were not informed. And again you're driving the metrics so thank you
Edit: are you not familiar with the concept of "doing whatever the hell you want" for a hobby? As long as we have people playing our tournaments it s a success, in the same way i play football even though i ll never make any money out of it, same with playing an instrument. Not everything needs to have a monetary value.

Can you make separate thread with constructive feedback on the foreign scene? Would you like to share your vision? I believe it could be beneficial for the scene

well actually, assuming i read correctly, i would agree with you that kr news and foreign news could (should?) be separate categories in the forum and it would actually be pretty neat.
So I would support that 100%

I still think there is an audience for foreigner BW but is not on teamliquid neither twitch. It is on youtube but very few people invest their time doing youtube content. Lets be honest. Very few people use forums these days. People either use reddit X facebook instagram youtube. TL is just not that place anymore . Look at the sc2 section. Very few threads get any hype.

Most of the life of BW is in the various discord nowadays. Since everyone s already there and can connect to the stream directly or chat in various rooms, not much point doing it here. BWCL is the same, each of our announcement has like 10 replies, it s more for tradition at this point. Yet we have over 300 players.
But my point was more if we had foreign news and kr news separately you could be happy and never see any foreign news, just watching korean ones instead. Forums like TL are more a relic for old people like me~

Btw for cslpro: BWCL would be happy to participate and give points.

I did but few other people are on TL so somebody s gotta spread the info here. For BWCL: Cwt)ShibaTerran is the boss now.

I’ll be on the lookout for these games.
Airn’s events have been handled pretty well time and again; I have no doubt these events will be just as good, if not better, than the ones we’re already getting.
BW is dead; long live BW!
