Yes!!! I would've been bummed if Light hadn't made it out. Kind of sucks to see Mini gone in ro16, his games are always exciting and he probably would have shown lots of great games. Oh well, he will be back for sure.

Even as a huge mini fan, going proxy gate 3 games in a row is just ... gross. Gotta be happy for light.

Wish Mini dived on top of Light’s siege tanks with his goons when Light made the aggressive push into his nat. I reckon that fight would’ve looked a whole lot different.

If Dragoons move like Hydras, yes. Otherwise it'd be a goon massacre I think. That choke is too narrow. I think the correct play is not going Carrier. Light chose to 6 Fact even before he scanned the Stargate. An extra group of Zealot and a Shuttle would have smashed that push. Mini was far ahead after Light went 2 Rax. No need to resort to Carrier.

was there any strategic point in mini picking light? Like, perhaps it would have been a great flex to eliminate light, but at the same time I think of literally all the players in the world, light is the one who matches up best against mini.

Yeah, I really don't get mini picking Light at all. Why not a weaker Terran? Has he ran out of bag of builds against Zergs? The pool may be super stacked this season, but at least half of them make easier opponents.

Shame to have mini out. But Rain is definitely a worthy replacement. For Aiur!

That last game was satysifying.
proxy gate gets stuffed, barracks lands and firebat gets probes but causes mini to open up that pylon wall, vulture run bys at 3rd, main and nat and mining up production. wraiths. Just picked him apart. Sweet pick mini.

Big props to Mini for challenging himself with a tough group. I don't mind seeing proxy gates three times in a row. It's always exciting with Mini.

Great play by the winners Rain and Light.

Tough break for Royal. That guy is really good and I wouldn't have been surprised to see him in the Ro4, but this Ro16 is stacked.

Obviously he wanted to challenge himself with that group, while giving his friend Shuttle an easier group.
Had he wanted an easy group, he would have picked ggaemo first, then switch one of the "weaker" Terran/Zerg, or any of the Protoss (except Rain) to his group.

Really thought we were gonna be seeing either Mini+Light or Mini+Rain advancing but I'm happy that my 2 favorite players of this group advanced. Well done to both Rain and Light!
