If somehow Flash is out of the picture, this is what it looks like. This is what sponbang has been for years too.

Zerg is really strong in this game.

I really hoped it wouldn't be a 3-0 and was generous to Snow in my prediction because of the map pool.
Obviously I shouldn't have been.

Could a high A rank or S rank zerg please answer this question.
Why did we start winning after the recent 'bad times'?

9734 happened and Zergs figured out how to deal with securing the 3rd vs Terran. Maps changed to accomodate previous "meta" just when Zergs were figured it out. Though in this case, neither is really relevant to the games today.

I think Soma just need to do 9 pool every game versus Flash, it could be a BO win or at least he will get on well with his aggressive style.

Guys I don't think Snow played poorly in game 1 at all, Soma knew Snow tends to play safe by getting 3 base up and going into late game. Soma chose a brilliant spilt map strategy by parking his lurkers at the high ground above the bridges. Once he was set it is extremely hard for Protoss to break out. That strat wouldn't have worked if they played again.

Game 2 Snow should have added more cannons and game 3 well it speaks for itself.

What did i just watch. That was brutal.

I think Flash is actually in trouble against Soma but against Snow i'd put him above

I have no faith in his zvz and well soma's zvp clearly looks dangerous. Unless he draws like all terrans on his random that's the only way i see him winning

The problem with game 1 seems to be that Snow didn't want to get Reavers, which would have helped break the lurker contain.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

This is not the first time Snow did not get reavers when they were an absolute must (there was a previous game on Eclipse I think).

Questionable play to say the least.

The map wasn't split at all though. Snow just adamantly refused to manoeuvre his units around. Seemed to have faith that this time, everytime, he will be able to break the great lurker plain and all the zealot sacrifices will be worth it. "Don't let our boys die in vain!" seemed to be his mantra that game. Maybe had a bad sleep, or has RSI issues. His game before the long suicide was good though, I cannot fault that, had nice moments like storming perfectly to save his corsairs from like 24 scourge, shame about everthing else. Who knows, maybe there is a good reason for his decision that game to try to break that lurker spread despite not enough HT or reavers and it's just the roll of dice that makes it look terrible.

game 1 just makes me yearn for old bisu. soma actually lost air control towards the mid-lategame (although soma dropped focus on it probably he knows hes up against snow who wouldn't be able to take advantage of it), his 6 and 12 expos was scantily defended. soma has shown that he reacts rather lately to harass and does not seem as great on the multitasking front. bisu on the hotseat would really have punished soma for those. oh and pretty willing to make reavers in lategame too like others have pointed out how they are vital.

This is not first time for Soma to destroy Snow. I was sure it would be 3-0. ZvZ finals incomming.

It didn't seem to me that Snow played that poorly. He was just outclassed a bit today. Game one I can question why he didn't get reavers (and shuttle speed), but he initially traded pretty cost efficiently with the zerg - until hive tech - despite the choke and high ground.

g2 I think we can excuse to confusing maps. Had he managed to block the lurkers better, the game would have been quite different. Only one got through, so close enough margins.

g3 I see these micro errors happen from time to time. The protoss is in the dark after all, and doesn't want to pull probes unnecessarily.

IMO Snow deserved to lose, but not to be called am amateur or anything. He is a player who doesn't do things precisely (apart from reaver control), but is good at strategy and scrappy games. But sometimes imprecision can cost you (g3).

The whole reason the chokehold even got setup in game 1 was the fact that Snow didn't have his nat covered against mutas and he lost a great amount of probes there, after investing a lot into sairs and cannons already.

unless it is fake apm it is almost literally the definition of multitasking

instead of being a defensive douche you could bring arguments precisely why u think that somas multitasking is weak; I just completely disagree with ur sentiment

I love fanboys protoss tears
Anyway best zvp in the world Soma. The question is, how good is his zvz?
Flash as a tough opponent now, and I'm happy Soma won this (Snow would have been crashed again by Flash)
