Are you a new player that would like to get connected to the foreign brood war community? Would you like a chance to show off your skills and be casted? The Rookie StarLeague is your opportunity! It is a multi week tournament that will have games casted on twitch. We are back yet again for season 3 to provide newer players with a chance to play in a competitive environment.
Who?
Any player under 1400 mmr that has not placed 1st-4th in any previous RSL. No offraces or smurfs, we will check ladder accounts. However, you may racepick your mirror matchup if you so choose. If you fit this description or would like to cast, join our Discord! https://discord.gg/gj2frKh
When?
This event will begin Sunday, December 1st at 0:00 GMT, as signups close. Signups are available now on challonge, at challonge.com/RSL3. Please create your challonge account using the same name as your ladder account! The event will go over the time span of 1 and a half months, with 2 weeks for the group stage and 1 week for every following stage.
How?
The tournament will have a round robin group stage for the first round, in which each participant plays one game against each other player in the group. Each player agrees on a map from the map pool. The top two players from each group will advance. After the first round, there will be a single elimination tournament with each round consisting of a BO5. Each player will ban 2 maps to find the first map, and loser will pick the next map until the series is decided.
Map Pool:
Destination, Power Bond, New Sniper Ridge, La Mancha, and New Tornado. If you need any of these maps, they will be posted in the discord under #map-pool.
Due to the round robin format, there will not be deadlines for each individual game in the group stage; there is only the requirement that you have all your games in by Sunday December 15th 11:59 PM GMT/7:59 EDT. Please attach replays with the reported scores.
