For weeks now we have been without decent StarCraft matches. Now, dear friends we enter a new season with a bang: Superfight 5: Race Wars.
Whats the Deal? Sponsored by CJ Entertainment (largest entertainment company in South Korea), this tournament takes the 3 'best' players from terran, zerg and protoss, forming teams to see which race will dominate.
Whats up for Grabs Best Race: Total of $12,000 (3,000 each + coach) 2nd Race: Total of $8,000 (2,000 each) 3rd Race: Total of $4,000 (1,000 each)
Match up Rounds Round 1 - 3 matches (ZvP, PvT, ZvT) Round 2 - 3 matches Round 3 - 1 match (Two races with better stats)
i have played about 100 games on geometry i find it is the funnest map. the other two i have only observed, and monty hall will be very fun if they expo on the same hall thats like 3 chances in doing this. also what if they expo in different halls, it will be fun the third map is hard for vs terran if terran just covers your entrance your pretty much dead.

I will only admit that I think he should have done better in the psl. He is still capable off pulling off wins with his own style. And remains as the most entertaining zerg ever. I feel passion when he plays which is more than I can say about savior. Maybe I'm nostalgic but I wont let you call him garbage so easily. I would call him garbage for the same reason Yellow is garbage. They were both extremely good at one point, but frankly today they are not. He's not saying the legacy of yellow in the past is garbage, just that his play NOW is garbage.
Some additional information I just read from FiFo:
How the maps will be decided is like this, each race chooses a map they wish to use. In the First round, Terran chooses the map vs Zerg, Protoss chooses vs Terran, and Zerg chooses vs Protoss.
Then in the 2nd Round, it flipps. Zerg chooses vs Terran, Terran chooses vs Protoss, and Protoss chooses vs Zerg.
In the 3rd Round, we can have either 1 match 3 match. (it is NOT a bo3, my bad) Depending on the stats of the races. If they all have a 2-2 record, then we see another Round of matches. If not, then we just see one final match.
The maps for the 3rd round might have been mis-translated (again, sorry). Some people might think it's a brand new map. But it's actually the same map, except one that neither of them prefers. For example, Terrans chose Monty Hall against both races, while Zerg chose Geometry. If these two battle, they will play on Nemesis, which neither of them prefer.
My guesses and prejudices: - The outcome will be T>Z>P - Looking at Z and P, only Savior and Bisu will do well in all matchups - Looking at T, all 3 of them will - Jaedong will suck, either because of lacking skill compared to the others there or because he's inexperienced at big tournaments (psychological issue). Yes, it's just a big prejudice. I've never seen that guy before and now he's one of the chosen ones for the Zerg race - wtf?)
Nevertheless: I hope that Jaedong will positively surprise me, that we will see good matches (no 5min cheese games plz), that Savior starts owning again and that Zerg will come out on top.

Jaedong is like a mini-savior. His ZvT is fucking unbelievable, but his zvp is sub-par, but his zvz is just as strong as his zvt. he's taken out alot of big names like iloveoov and such, im pretty sure if he gets a terran that guy is fucked~ maybe nada will win, but I dont see iloveoov beating jaedong after I saw jaedong rape a hole in him pretty bad. Midas im not so sure, tossup.
vs P, I wouldn't give him a good chance vs bisu, but maybe anytime or nal_ra(lesser of a chance vs ra XD)

If it is, it means that the matches are actually starting at 10am on Sunday in Korea. That sounds unlikely, so it's probably taking place on Saturday at 2am TL time (5am edt).

JaeDong went 11-0 in Proleague at one point. And against monster names too
Does anybody know how the matches are decided? After the players pick maps, who plays who (decided by coaches I guess, but how)? Bo1 or bo3 for the matches? I'm guessing that each player only plays once (one player per round), except the third player on the 3rd place team?

how can you say jaedong "lacks in skill" or has "psychological issues" if you've never seen or heard of him -_-
Well, I follow quite a bit of the scene so if there's a player I've never heard of before it's probable that he isn't as good as the others. But good thing that I'm wrong, then.
