온게임넷 스타리그 담당 위영광 PD는 "스타리그 3회 우승시에는 골드 마우스를 지급하고, 5회 우승에는 플래티넘 마우스, 7회 우승에는 다이아몬드 마우스를 해당 선수에게 지급할 계획"이라고 밝혔다. Wui Yeong-Kwang PD, direct of OSL, says "We planned that 3time OSL champ would be awarded The golden mouse, 5time The platinum mouse, and 7time The diamond mouse."

한편 팬택 이윤열이 신한은행 스타리그 2006 시즌3까지 우승할 경우 4회 우승으로 플래티넘 마우스에 가장 근접한 선수가 된다. Anyway, if Pantech Nada would be winner of Shinhan 2006 OSL season3(*vs Savior), he is a 4time OSL champ so he could be the most neighboring player for The platinum mouse.
They should make 4 time platinum and 5 time diamond because really, you think anyone is going to get to 7? I doubt it, unless OSL is still being played in 20 years.

BW will stay as BW in korea i'm quite sure. Regardless of what new games come out. They're trying to revolutionize something, and they just can't switch it.
With this revolution they can create the first computer game that will have a timeless lasting quality, like Chess.
With all these people wanting to test their new games on higher graphics they haven't realized the market there is for people who simply love a game and stick with it.

Erm... WoW isn't an RTS. They can't move onto WoW. SC2 however will be a high quality RTS designed with progaming in mind. And it will not be warcraft 3 ffs. They've already confirmed a high unit limit, no heroes, no autocast. What more do you people want?

SC2 is not completely a new game, it's a sequel for SC, and WoW has nothing to do with SC

If Savior puts as much into the OSL as the MSL he could get the golden mouse, then then 5win mouse. Also all it takes is for a new "savior" to arise, come from just another player to a league dominator. There are plenty of tosses and terrans that have great skill and talent, but are waiting for the right moment.
Rock could go far, Sea could go far, Stork..., and countless others
Also look at players like Oov and/or July. Both have only 1 starleague to win for a fancy mouse, and both seem to be getting closer and closer to their previous stages of dominance as time rolls on.
The next golden mouse/mouses and the mice beyond are in the hands of the underestimated, the proleague gods, and those waiting for the moment that defines them.
why on earth would anyone leave a steady job for the potential to make less money
all we're going to see is low-tier progamers and amateurs excelling, people like savior and nada will continue to play starcraft unless they show exemplary skill immediately and starcraft 2 suddenly becomes more lucrative, which wont happen

all it takes is just for the right moment. Rock has done so well in the ODT, hes gone up to the quarterfinals of the OSL. To win a league hes got to a. get past his horrible % vs Z (which he has proven he can recently) b. not run into zergs
IPXZerg was just a zerg until he started winning. Bisu was just another toss. So when you look at a player and say they cant go far, its not because they havent had the ability, they havent had the chance to proove themselves yet.
If OGN and MBC hosts SC2 tournaments when it comes out then maybe you can transfer the title? Like if NaDa won a SC2 OSL, itd still be OSL and hed still have 4OSL titles, it never stated it has to be SC anywhere. So maybe he just needs to win 4 more OSL in SC2, lol.

halo 3 hasn't been out for even 6 months yet. but it's true that the halo 2 professional scene did not immediately disappear. im pretty sure that 2008 will be almost all halo 3 though. so i think it took about 3-4 months for a total switch. but as far as SC and SC2, well, there are no pro SC players outside of china/korea. so i'd imagine within the first 6 months or so, SC2 players will join professional teams in North America/Europe. as for the koreans, what happened with halo 2 and halo 3 is irrelevant to them. though i think your prediction that SC leagues will continue and SC2 will start off with 1 league and then respond to the fans is correct.

7 OSL wins was always asking a huge amount. But then that's the point. And it'd cost a fair amount for them to give away, so they can't make it too easy

Flash kind of had it easy as he never had to compete with the likes of July, Oov, Savior, Boxer, and NaDa when they were all at their peaks. I find it hard to call him the best Bonjwa. NaDa had a much harder time in terms of the players he faced.

bonjwa or not, saying that flash's competition were easy is insulting to the final generation players. the top 20 players were nothing to scoff at, they were the best of the best. and then you have stork jaedong bisu who blew these best of the best out of the water. but even these 3 S class players were underdog when it came to flash. the reason why the top 20 had average % is because stork jaedong bisu and flash existed.

Bisu and Stork were not very good during Flash's big runs, and neither was Fantasy for 60% of it. Only Jaedong was.

Bisu(outside Proleague), Jaedong, and Stork have been lacking in the last few years. Bisu has not made finals in years and the last time Jaedong did was 2010.

Lol, I remember people saying Koreans had decided he was a bonjwa after he beat Jaedong and won the duel finals. In any case, like people have said, it doesn't matter at all because he's achieved way more than any of the bonjwas except for arguably Nada. I'll always remember him as the best Broodwar player of all time.

So, taking this literally, ASL wins are (obviously) not OSL wins and you don't get any mouses for winning ASLs.
But if your purpose is to use league wins to measure career success and so to award imaginary diamond mouses, or something like this, then it would probably make sense to weigh KSL/ASL wins as somewhat less meaningful than OSL and MSL wins. Like you mention, the competition is not at the same level as it was back then.
So maybe you can do something like: n of imaginary career success trophies = (OSL wins + MSL wins + 0.75 * KSL wins + 0.75 * ASL wins) / 3
where 0.75 is an arbitrary weight that tries to account for OSL and MSL wins being more prestigious.
