Interview with Sea.
Sea: Can I make excuses for the loss?
Britney: Sure thing, go ahead.
Sea: What the hell was up with that map order?! Who chose that order?
Terror: Yeah, that truly sounds like you're making excuses. The map order had nothing to do with it. You got destroyed due to a gap in skill. Absolutely everyone will agree with this.
Sea: Yeah, I do agree.
Terror: But, Sea, I do have one good news for you.
Sea: What is it?
Terror: Bisu has agreed to give you 10000 Won from his prize money.
Sea: I don't need the 10 thousand. But you pay me 200 thousand!
Terror: Okay, you get 200000!
Sea: Your crappy prize money is why I lost!
Terror: What the?! The hell does the prize money have to do with winning or losing?!
Sea: Give me 300 thousand.
Terror: Why? Tell me why I should give you that much.
Sea: Fuck you. Don't send me anything. I won't accept it.
Everyone laughs at him.
Terror: Don't be that way. You're getting the money within a few hours. But seriously, you're the runner-up, you made it to the finals. What does the prize money matter?
Sea: The money doesn't matter. I'm just pissed off because my games went so poorly.
Terror and Britney: Yes, they really did.
Sea: But seriously what the fuck was that map order?!
Britney (to Terror): I sent him the map order as soon as it was decided.
Terror: What an asshole.
Sea tries to make more excuses.
Terror: Listen here, you should just accept the result. You're getting your prize money, you're getting some additional money so you can have a good meal. How about you shut the hell up?
Terror: A few words for the fans on the finals?
Sea: I'm really sorry it didn't go well. I got a lot of crap from the viewers after the semifinals. [Can't make this out due to background noises.] Today's games went so very poorly and I'm really sorry for that.

Thanks for the translations GeLaar! Damn, Sea sounds so mad in that second interview. Is this the first time? He always seemed so relaxed and now this ;;

They caught him at the worst time, and they were pretty brutal. They really rubbed his face in it, so I for one can't really blame him.

lol, for this league yes. But in reality the best players are the ones who get good results in the major tournaments like ssl and ksl, because there competition is on another level. I hope to see protoss race doing good in next SSL.

Are you kidding me the competition in this league was better than SSL there were no players like Zeus, Tossgirl, Sharp, Sea.kh, Shinee,Major, Hyuk, Guemchi, firebathero, force[name] and by.Spire for TTSL and even KSL. KSL and this league had about the same playing field, I'd argue TTSLs was slightly higher though, granted SSL10 had a Ro32, but what you said still remains untrue. TTSL managed to get almost every single top tier player currently active in the scene, while a couple of people boycotted the SSL.

I'd love to go with the narrative: More money, better production quality, on TV, more prestige, and not just two guys in a basement looking up girls skirts and casting BW = Higher skill level of the tournament but that's simply not true.

This series was a bit disappointing. Bisu is Bisu, but I was expecting a bit better performance from Sea :/

Well, it's actually an old trick. Shuttles are very useful when interceptors take turret fire.

Thanks once again, GeLaar! -- so it sounds like Bisu earns ₩5,900,000 (or to be more precise, ₩5,890,000), while Sea earns ₩200,000

Elo updated, (P)Bisu reaches a new post-KeSPA personal high and widens the gap between him and Sea

Definitely agree that overall the competition at TTSL was more stacked than SSL10 and comparable to KSL, but I'm quite certain the players didn't nearly prepare and practice as much for the TTSL as the SSL/KSL's. Reading all the SSL/KSL player interviews ( Stratos, lemmata, etc), just about every competitor spoke of their practice sessions tailored to their opponents and maps.

At the same time, almost all of them basically took a break from, or at least significantly curtailed, their Afreeca streaming for that ~2 months of competition time to practice offline -- considering how most of the players' wages come from streaming activities, that speaks volumes about the commitment involved and stakes at hand.

That's not to say the TTSL players were screwing around and not trying their best, but having watched most of the FPVODs, there were definitely a few players chatting with viewers during their matches (mostly in the early parts) and a good number of them were messing around (e.g. 1v7 computer or 2v2 games for donors/fans) in the minutes leading up to game time. When there's $20,000+ in prize money on the line and HD TV cameras pointed at your booth with your parents sitting in the first row, things are just different...

Yeah definitely I agree 100%, but saying that TTSL was a joke tournament and Bisu won simply because there was no competition is far from the truth.

1st place winning 40 times more than 2nd place seems kinda silly though.

1st place - Bisu ~ 5300$
2nd place - Sea ~ 180$

but frankly the prize distribution is really awful, usd5000 for first and only usd180 for 2nd??? and none for the rest. with that kind of distribution even if the playerbase is stellar they wont be 100% motivated to push all the way.

Its so simple, imagine you are a musician, how much work you will put to go in the local club, compared to the biggest stage in your country? Ofcourse all the players will put everything they can on the table to win.
Now when tourney is that small things are very different, which doesnt exclude bisu's improvement after KSL.

i'm sorry but bisu did say the TTSL tourney was the most nerve wrecking. 77,000 viewers were tuning in in game 3 goddamn it. The players wanted to really win because they didn't want to get labeled by terror fans (known for their extreme prejudice). They also wanted exposure. TTSL delivered way better than SSL,KSL. Im sorry. I know you guys don't understand korean. But terror and britney were fantastic and funny as hell. SSL was a snoozefest compared to their casting and unique way of delivering. It;s sad that there is no translation of whole thing
