Background: Based on the Yellow Starleague, this league was originally intended for high D-rank players. However, as high D-rank players were disallowed to play in future DRITs (D-Rank Individual Tournaments), an individual league was necessary for the D-ranked players that were too good for D-rank leagues, but not necessarily good enough for C-rank leagues. To help merge both D-rank and C-rank players, a range from E-ranked players to C+ ranked players, but not limited to under certain circumstances, were eligible for the third installment of the Crimson Starleague Season 3, in an Invitational format, due to the success of the past two Crimson Starleague Invitationals.
Format: The format of this league has changed this season from the previous seasons to expand the number of players that can participate. Invited players ranged from a iCCup rank level of between D to C+, though not limited to, with players that have achieved B- being allowed to off-race.
The 1st portion of the league will feature a 48-player Qualifier Group Stages. All of the players that were invited, except for the players from the previous season's Round-of-8, will be placed into 12 groups, where 24 players will advance into the main portion of the tournament. The groups will play out in the initial Game 1 and Game 2, with a Winner's and Loser's Match to follow, and a Final Match to finish.
The 2nd portion of the league will be the Round-of-32 Group Stage. Players from the previous season's Round-of-8 will be seeded into separate groups, with the previous season's Top 4 given rights to switch around players among groups. The 24 qualifiers will be distributed equally into 8 groups, and the Top 4 finishers will be allowed to switch around players of their choosing. They will not be allowed to switch around the Top 8 players. The 4th place will be allowed to switch once, 3rd place will be allowed to switch twice, 2nd place will be allowed to switch three times, and the Champion will be allowed to switch four times.
The 3rd portion of the league will shift over into the Elimination Tournament Bracket Stage. Seeded according to the order of group advancement, players will participate in a single-elimination, Best-of-X format to climb their way into the Finals for a shot at the championship.
Maps will be chosen by me, the organizer, RedAxis, and the players and viewers themselves will be given a chance to vote out a map chosen by myself.

Maps
Similar to the past two season, I'll offer 3 of the 8 maps I've selected to be played in the tourney to be voted upon by the players and the viewers. The current map pool is...
Winners must send replays to crimsonstarleague@live.com
Players are allowed to reschedule, but not past the deadline it is required to be played on. If postponements are absolutely necessary, then please PM me.
Players are not allowed to race-pick and are not allowed to change races during the tournament. Players that do not play with their original race must let me know BEFORE the league starts.
If players do not make contact with their opponents, PM me and I will make the decision regarding walkovers or rescheduling.
All games must be played with Anti-Hack and ChaosLauncher/mca64 Launcher with LAN Latency.
If a player disconnects within 2 minutes of the start of a game, then the game must be replayed. If a player disconnects past the 2 minute mark, please contact me and show me the replay. I will make the decision regarding a regame, or whether a verdict will be made.
If the game has reached the point where one player has obviously won the game, but the opponent refuses to leave and/or lifts/hides their buildings around the map, extending the game further than need be, the player may leave the game and offer the replay to be reviewed to an admin. Keep in mind that a player must have clearly and blatantly won the game. An example scenario is if a Terran player lost all of his/her SCV's, Supply Depots, and other buildings, and lifts his Command Center from a Zerg player that defeated a Terran player via 4 pool. If a player leaves the game despite not having a clear and obvious victory, the game is subject to be replayed or walked over in favor of the opponent.
RedAxis switches Qus.Talent of Group D with Stardom[eMg] of Group E
NinaZerg switch is nulled.
sas.zimp switches Jemah of Group H with dazed of Group E
puppykiller[eMg] switches E.v)TelecoM of Group F with DsT-Napoleon of Group B
castle[eMg] switches -
Ender[eMg] of Group G with LRM)SpaNiarD of Group B and Ty2[eMg] of Group G with Sero of Group A
Plus switches -
Qus.Talent of Group E with DsT-Napoleon of Group F, dre11[PaiN] of Group E with sB.Minscandboo of Group A, and Jemah of Group E with sh4w of Group F
flying[eMg] switches -
Artanis[xp] of Group C with sh4w of Group E, dazed of Group H with art_of_turtle of Group F, E.v)TelecoM of Group B with Jemah of Group F, and sMi.ShoX of Group C with DsT-Napoleon of Group E
Radley switches...
sB.Birdie of Group A with Jemah of Group B, Ty2[eMg] of Group A with E.v)TelecoM of Group F, Artanis[xp] of Group E with Qus.Talent of Group F, and sB.Minscandboo of Group E with Favian[PaiN] of Group G
Potentially the group of death in the tournament, Radley went all out on his switches and brought in some of the strongest players into his group. Seemingly wanting to test himself in deep waters, his first game will be against dre11[PaiN], who advanced from his group with a 2-0 in impressive fashion and is looking to be a quiet contender to advance from this group of death. Along with Radley and dre11, we have E.v)TelecoM and Jemah, both of whom also advanced from the qualifiers 2-0 with lopsided games from TelecoM and Jemah showing some strong mechanics in his game against LRM)SpaNiarD. This looks to be a hard group to predict, and I'd hate for any of these players to be eliminated, since they would probably be able to advance had it been any other group. In the end, I see our defending champion, Radley, and the player who is almost always streaming his games on Fish, Jemah, advancing from the group in a close series shown by all 4 players.
Seeded replacement NinaZerg will be seeing her first games in Crimson against Lannister[BG], a Protoss who managed to upset one of the favorites to win the tournament in the qualifier stages and has a knack for pulling off some impressive plays on occasion. Along with the two, we have sB.Birdie and Ender[eMg] who will play in a ZvZ, so it's practically impossible to predict who's gonna take that game. We'll have at least 2 guaranteed ZvZ's, so this group is definitely a toss-up for anyone to advance, especially if two Zergs make it to the winner's match. Couldn't watch any of Ender's games because of him advancing through the qualifiers via walkovers, but I think sB.Birdie and NinaZerg will be advancing through the tournament. I think Birdie's ZvP, if he ever were to run across Lannister, would be too strong and based on the few games I've watched of Ender over on USEast, I'd have to say Nina is a superior player.
An unfortunately weak group for our runner-up last season, flying[eMg] is paired up with two D level players in sh4w and sB.Passafist. Knowing how well DsT-Napoleon can play, this is a relatively easy group to predict, and unfortunately for Passafist or sh4w, it's hard to expect either of them to pull off the upset due to the massive difference in skill and mechanics.
We get another candidate for group of death in Group E with 3rd place finisher Plus, my potential dark horse to win the tournament, sMi.ShoX, possibly the best player of the tournament, Qus.Talent, and Maroon Starleague finalist, Favian[PaiN]. Another relatively hard group to predict, Plus tried to get away with coasting through the group stages by putting in 3 Terrans in his groups, but alas, flying[eMg] and Radley both said no and pitted him into a possible group of death. Regardless, Plus vs sMi.ShoX can go either way, as it's a PvP, and crazy things like Dark Templars and a lack of detection can end the game in an instance, as evidenced by two games during the qualifiers. The two are possibly equally in skill level as well, roughly around the C+, maybe B- level, but I'd have to say Plus would be able to pull out a win. Qus.Talent vs Favian[PaiN] has two solid players who knows how to pull off builds perfectly, but with Favian having to play an offrace vs Talent, I'd say Talent wins in a close game with Favian putting up a fight. And with that, it becomes Plus and Talent... We missed this treat last season when Talent forfeited halfway through the Ro16 group stages, but hopefully that doesn't happen again and we see Talent play the game in form and advance the group with a 2-0, with Plus, ShoX, and Favian left behind... Between ShoX and Favian, I'd wanna say Favian might win, but again, simply because it's main race vs offrace, I'd have to say ShoX comes away with the win, and rolling with the momentum, takes down Plus in the final game to advance along with Talent into the Round-of-16.
I wonder what matchup puppykiller is going to practice during the group stages... Our seeded player puppykiller is pitted with 3 rather creative Zergs who can pull off the upset with their cheesy, yet solid play. And again, we have 2 possible ZvZ's, and that makes it even harder to guess who's advancing from the group. I think with the amount of practice puppykiller has been putting in, he'll be one of the two players to advance, and then it becomes a toss-up of dazed, Ty2[eMg], and Artanis[xp]. All 3 have their own reasons as to why they WON'T advance: dazed doesn't practice, Ty2[eMg] has said he's semi-tired, for whatever reason, and Artanis[xp] has been playing SC2 rather than Brood War. I think Ty2 will be advancing from the group with a possible 4pool and rekindle his motivation to play his cheesy, yet entertaining style.
Originally cursed with 3 eMg players, castle[eMg] managed to put two relatively weaker players of the tournament into his group along with a solid Protoss player in LRM)SpaNiarD. Personally, I think sB.Minscandboo can pull off the bold upset against either Protosses, and I think either castle or SpaNiarD falls. I have no doubt that Sero will be eliminated, and I don't expect him to pull off another miraculous upset against either. I'd have to say that castle stays true to this solid play while SpaNiarD makes an unfortunate blunder and drops a set to Minscandboo and becomes eliminated from the tournament.
A relatively solid group with some high expectations from myself, I'm excited to see how well sas.zimp can do against players who can play solid and stick true to it. He managed to make it to the Ro8 last season with some fishy play and a walkover in the Ro16, but showed off that he can hang in there with a solid player when he took Plus to 5 games in the Ro8. However, Demurity, art_of_turtle, and Mewka[AoV] can seemingly exploit the multiple holes in zimp's game and take him out on the funky maps that are Queensbridge and Sin Peaks of Beakdu. I think Demurity is another dark horse to make it far in the tournament and Mewka is possibly the best player in terms of mechanics, in Group H. Unless the 3 players don't show up for the tournament, I don't see zimp being able to make it out of the group this time around and art_of_turtle will have to invest a lot of practice to keep up with the two players I predict will advance.
Looks like two Protoss and two Zergs will be taking the stage in Group A. The favorites to come out of the group are definitely GoShox and LTY, as the two are roughly around the C+ and C level, respectively, while I believe Reuental and Iway are both teetering on the D+ margin. Save for crazy cheese or multiple mis-plays, I don't see how either Protosses won't be advancing out into the Round-of-32.
A candidate for the group of death, featuring 3 Protosses and 1 Terran, this is anyone's group. I'd have to say skill-wise, SpaNiarD is the best of them all, but LandOwner is of course, solid in his own right, and Arcania is capable of winning with his infamous cheese-style play. At the same time, icedraco can't be counted out either due to his insane APM and multitask ability, but the lack of polished mechanics (possibly from inactivity) might keep him from advancing out of the group. It should shape up to be a quality group, and save for a puncher's chance from Arcania, I don't see LandOwner and SpaNiarD not advancing from the group.
Maybe the actual group of death, we have three C+ (2Pac roughly around B-), and a C- player who can also be very creative. If the groups were round robin, I would have no idea who would win, but seeing as it's ODT format, it makes it a little easier. In the first game with TelecoM vs Hyeon, I think TelecoM will be taking the tourney, as Hyeon is out of practice and more used to PvP rather than TvP. For 2Pac vs Taehee[KaL], I would say Taehee is the favorite simply because he is probably the best Terran player in the entire tournament, and has very solid TvP shown in Maroon Starleague despite being eliminated. If it goes into TelecoM vs Taehee, I think Taehee will take it again, in a rather macro-intensive game on Luna. 2Pac vs Hyeon, again, I believe Hyeon is just too out of practice to beat someone at 2Pac's skill level, and when it comes to TelecoM vs 2Pac, I'm not 100%, but my instincts are saying that TelecoM will take the victory in some way, shape, or form, but 2Pac has taken note that the way to win PvPs are Dark Templars...
This group is rather reminiscent of a classic D-Ranks Individual Tournament before the strict cutoff came about, except now the players have all gotten better and are roughly in the C-/C skill level. We have two players from DeSPA in Squishy and art_of_turtle, and a SunKhan player in DsT-Napoleon. Right away, I see DsT-Napoleon advancing from the group with solid play, as I believe that he is better skill-wise than the other 3 players, but one can never be too sure. hp.Shell has been practicing just for this tournament, art_of_turtle has been playing more and more as of late, and Squishy is always capable of taking games with his cheese-centered style. It's hard to pick a player, but based off of personally knowing the player better, I would say art_of_turtle ends up advancing out of group alongside the American Terran player.
Is this the TAKK in-house tourney #2? With 3 TAKK players, feels like an in-house tourney we used to do back in the day, plus endy. endy will be taking the first spot easily due to the margin in skill level. Then comes greenelve, chrisolo, or Stardom. Although greenelve has an underrated (and sometimes underestimated) early games, he seems to unfortunately falter out in the mid to late game despite an early advantage. chrisolo and Stardom should be the two fighting for the second spot to play, and although Stardom has probably been playing more, chrisolo holds some cards in his hands with the fact that he is solid in his own right and is playing PvT, a matchup generally favored for Protoss. I see chrisolo taking the second spot and moving on into the Ro32 with endy.
Unfortunately, there's two players I've seldom watched play, if at all, in Demurity and BigFan. I believe the last time I saw BigFan "play" is in his most recent Battle Report that you guys can read here. However, assuming that Demurity is around the C- range, I think sB.Birdie, despite his claims of ZvT being D-, should be able to beat Trozz in anticipation of the Hydra ZvZ and take out whatever Terran wins between Demurity and BigFan. Unfortunately for the two Terrans, I think Trozz ends up being too good for both players and will end up taking the remaining games and advances into the Ro32.
Poor Passafist... He can just never catch a break. Winless in DRTL, in his first invitation to Crimson, he gets pitted with a Maroon Starleague semifinalist, a former Crimson finalist, and a C-ranks league mainstay. He just can't catch a break. If Lannister has really been out of practice that he's been saying he is, I believe widowkiller_ and MVP will easily cruise into advancing into the Ro16 with no obstacles other than each other in the Winner's Game.
Almost cursed with an all-Terran group, we were blessed to receive Favian into the group as viewers. However, the Terrans in this group can't be happy at all, as Favian is rather solid with his Zerg, despite being an offrace and should look to practice with solid Terran and Zerg practice partners in Bizzy[PaiN] and widowkiller_. I see Favian advancing from the group, although I wouldn't be surprised if he's the second player to advance. After all, DarkNetHunter is finally playing again, and we're likely to see him showcase his solid all-around play and although he's playing against two rapidly-improving Terrans in pebble444 and sB.Minscandboo, I don't think either of them has what it takes to beat someone at the level of DarkNetHunter.
We have two interesting returning players of foreign BW in the beloved EleGant[AoV] and the 'possibly' notorious sGs.BaBo. Regardless of their background and reception in Teamliquid, both are players seem to be the favorites of the group, with a C/C+ range as compared to floladriblere, who has been inactive and sits around D/D+ while Sero's offraces are always rather terrible (how many times can I emphasize that he lost a 20 minute PvT because he didn't research Dragoon range?). Should look to see EleGant[AoV] and sGs.BaBo advance with no problem with Sero fails to execute a 4pool properly.
Although BisuDagger is finally playing in a league, I don't think he'll be able to channel his inner-Bisu a pull off any upsets against the two favorites in Artanis[xp] and RulzBoooM. I believe molotow will be able to pose some type of threat to both players, as I don't know much about his playstyle, but maybe with preparation, should be able to put up a fight. Interesting note is that Artanis and RulzBoooM are probably the best two players to originally have played in DRTL, with both players having made it to the Round-of-16 in the two previous Crimson installments.
This group is rather hard to predict as well, with three players probably around the same skill level in C-/D+ or so. Between Lmaster vs Rlentless, I think Lmaster will be able to take the game, as even though both players have been rather inactive due to school and studies, Lmaster has probably the broader knowledge of the matchup and will be able to take advantage of the matchup favoring Protoss. Unfortunately, I don't have a ton of info on Ender[eMg], other than he plays for East Manner Gaming, and that should say that he's a strong player. I'm gonna have to stick with the two players I know best though, and say Lmaster and Rlentless will be advancing into the next round.
And last but not least, our last qualifier group will feature, in my opinion, one of the most anticipated players to play in the tournament... YuMe is finally playing. After 3 invites, YuMe finally accepts and comes to play in a rather stacked and challenging group posing a threat in each player. We have Mewka, who is probably the best player, mechanics-wise. Qikz, one of the fastest improving players I've seen, and dazed, an incredibly creative Zerg player that was arguably the best Zerg player in DRTL after Artanis. I think YuMe, despite the challenges, will be able to put up a fight and take a game off of one of these players, but in the end, I believe Mewka and dazed will be able to edge out in the games and move on into the Ro32.
Lots of maps to choose from, I'll be sure to feature all of the maps in the upcoming seasons, especially 3 player maps like Rush Hour 3 and Neo Moon Glaive.
Right now, as of this post, about 10 spots left for the first qualifier round.
I just wanted to wish luck to all my opponents, it's my first time participating in such a good event and even though my max rank is only C I feel like I have a good shot to win it all!

6 spots left!
With the other 2 options, no shit it's going to make it out of voting
I'm suprised more wouldn't vote for Gladiator over Luna. Looks like a fun map pool all in all. Thanks for the donation Fabiano. Makes it a bit more juicy with some prize pool.

I have no idea why people are voting Luna over Gladiator, but if you do pick up Luna could you at least get Freakling or someone to fix the geysers in the mains? The way it is now you're at pretty shite disadvantage depending on spawn positions especially in mirror matchups
Luna is a revolutionary map it pretty much transitioned the pro players from aggressive micro games to macro games. Another good factor is that it is a map that most people know. Looking forward to seeing Luna. fun fact: Chinese players on VS love them some Luna.
Unless I actually specifically told you that you have to off-race, you don't have to offrace. I believe there's only going to be 2 offracers this season.
Hey, if someone is up to make some hype videos with music, logo, and gameplay footage, by all means, go ahead. There are reps in the OPs of everything season's thread, and VODs are all located in Liquipedia.
I guess if someone makes a good hype video, I'll try to find some sort of prize or try and do something for the creator.
4 roster spots left! Pretty much whenever all 48 players send in their confirmations, I'll be casting the Round 1 group selections, so players will be able to play their games ASAP, if need be.

I think you should make a webcam hype video with you elaborating on why you think will win the tournament, why you should be allowed to play after supposedly stream cheating in the finals of another tournament, why you believe you are a child prodigy, and why you would believe that you have enough skill to wear the name MVP , which actually means, if you are unsure, "Most Valuable Player".
But that is just my opinion to be honest, maybe you should just be required to play in a booth with ref's watching so they know you aren't cheating. Oh well, it'll be fun regardless, and as we have seen, even if you do cheat it won't change the outcome of the games. Right?
Keep in mind that if you weren't invited, it's nothing personal. I can't invite everybody, and there are specific players that I intended to play in this tournament for the sake of getting worthwhile playing time and their chance in the "spotlight".
Maybe if others don't accept the invitation after a couple of days, I'll invite others, but for the time being, I'm just waiting on responses of invites that I've already sent.

If it helps you reducing the count of protoss, I'd be more than willling to play random, which is my actual mainrace, but was not allowed in DRTL
Also I won't be playing under the ID "chrisolo", but instead I'll use "BaD]Seed", as always..
Yeah, if there's anything I need to correct, like usernames or what have you, let me know. Also, keep in mind that this is the last time you can change races, so if I need to change your race, let me know ASAP.

I think YuMe, despite the challenges, will be able to put up a fight and take a game off of one of these players, but in the end, I believe Mewka and dazed will be able to edge out in the games and move on into the Ro32.
landowner/spaniard ive seen landowner play really freakin good and not so good (sorry landowner i love u) if hes focused and calm he will advance forsure, spaniard seems pretty good
2pac/artofblack 2pacs pretty solid, i saw some of telecoms recent games..... and yeaa.. im not gonna say anymore XD, maybe if he practices he can make it out of the group but idk
art_of_turtle/squishy arts been playing alot and i think hes gettin better, idk anything really about the other players so i picked squishy just cause :D
Stardom/endy ive seen all these players play b4, i think stardoms getting better he just needs to practice more and he'll advance, i think endy will also advance
ender/lmaster ender will advance np i think, i know nothing about jsex or rlentless, lmaster has really nice mechanics just needs to utilize them better so my bets on him to advance
yume, mewka if yume practices, stays focused and doesnt get all pissed off, he'll advance. ive seen mewka play before i know hes solid, i cant remember anything about dazed unfortunately . qikz beat me b4 so he has potential to advance, although i know nothing about his tvz tvt and just judging by rank im unsure if he can pull through
Anyways, back to my terrribly biased and blatant predictions for this shit and should be taken with a bucket load of salt.
Group 1: Shox, LTY to advance
Group 2: snowfantasy and Spaniard
Group 3: 2pac if he can channel his inner Horang2 and most likely Hyeon with upset
Group 4: This is going to be boring as fuck to watch, shell and napoleon to advance with
Group 5: Endy and Chrisolo, I dont see either greenelve nor stardom to be able to get a single game, even if they play against each other in loser's round.
Group 6: My boy Demurity is going to reck everyone, even the casters with his exceptional play. Watch out for this dude!
Group 7: MVP and widowkiller to advance. For the other 2 players in this group
Group 8: Contrary to popular belief, All favian needs to do is 2 hatch muta. None of these players knows how to beat it (which is why none of them are above d+). DNH will be second only cause he's old enough to remember how to play on Luna.
Group 9: Sero and Jealous to advance. GOGOGOGO JOHN!!!
Group 10: Artanis and Rulzbooom easy advance
Group 11: Who the fuck is jsex and ender? Go rlentless and l_master, my homies.
Group 12: Yume still plays? damn. Dazed and Mewka with his cheese to advance (Luna is cheese map ye?)
Minsc can we play our game the weekend before on 17/18th if possible?
@Favian/Pebble would you guys be interested in playing the whole group out weekend before, or alternatively can you guys play on Sunday rather than Saturday, so 25th rather than 24th, im gonna be gone without internet/BW on 24th.

Thanks for reminding me guys,
Sync knows I have a wedding the first Saturday we are supposed to play the games. I told him this before accepting an invitation. Group 10, can we work out a day earlier in the week?
On April 27 2014 08:00 fearthequeen wrote: @ bisudagger: pretty sure there's zero racepicking allowed here. We are progamers. (only the second part is a joke)
Also, Redaxis begs Yume to play and then doesn't even pick him to get out of his ro48 group. hahaha
I thought he would get an easier group... So much sadness...
Group 1: LTY, Shox LTY is solid enough in PvZ to be clearly favored against both zergs. Based of the iccup rankings Shox should be the other player advancing easily.
Group 2: Spaniard, Arcania PvP... Fun times... Anything can happen in this matchup. I'll just go with the LRM tag and the fact that P>T.
Group 3: 2Pac + 1 After 2Pac's run in the last Maroon league, I have no doubt that he will win against both Telecom and Hyeon. I no nothing about the Polish Terran, so I'm not sure who will be the other player to advance.
Group 4: AoT + 1 AoT should be able to beat both Squishy and Napoleon. The last player is yet another one I know nothing about.
Group 5: endy, chrisolo I can't imagine greenelve taking a game :8 Stardom on the other hand might actually qualify.
Group 6: Birdie + 1 Birdie is solid often enough to be able to make it out of the group. No idea who the other player will be.
Group 7: MVP, widowkiller MVP's T is really good. If widowkiller's T is somewhat close to his Z he should be a force to be reckoned with, too. However, I've seen some incredibly impressive PvT from Lannister, so I would not be surprised to see him advance.
Group 8: Favian, DNH Favian's P was nearly flawless in the Maroon league. If his Z is only half as good he should be able to easily make it out. DNH used to have insane multitasking and macro even back when he was considered inactive. If he is really playing more now, then there is no doubt in my mind that he will make it out of this group.
Group 9: Elegant, Babo Sero's offrace tends to disappoint. Elegant and Babo should be able to make it out, but who knows.
Group 10: PvP yet again... On top of that the group is filled with fairly inactive players. Rather hard to predict who will make it out.
Group 11: mca + 1 Lmaster and Rlentless can be very scary. They can be disappointing, too. mca will advance, but it's not easy to predict who will make it out out of the other 3 players.
Group 12: Qikz has the drive to make it out. Dazed has shown some fairly decent play. Mewka is not exactly a pushover. And I'm not familiar with the last player, so this group is impossible to predict for me.
So much pressure on me to win, I haven't played BW in like two weeks though. Good thing I have a month to practice.
Demurity, hit me up with your Skype bruddah, I'll get a Skype group going for our group to arrange games. I can't play on the day so hopefully we can pre-play this.
Speaking of which, if you guys want to, feel free to PM me your Skype so maybe it'll be a slightly easier way to stay in contact and/or I'll get a Skype group going for all the players in the tournament.

The way the next round will work is after the 24 players from the Round 1 Qualifiers advance into the Ro32, we'll have another group selections, except this time with the 8 players from the Ro8 last season already seeded into separate groups. Check Liquipedia on where you're located in each group.
After the initial group selections for the Ro32, the 5-8th place players, NinaZerg, me, puppykiller, and sas.zimp will have the opportunity to switch around 1 player that isn't one of the 8 players seeded. Then, castle[eMg] can switch 2 players, Plus can switch 3, and flyingjelly and Radley can switch 4 players. It's possible for you to null your vote, but once your turn passes, you will not be able to switch a player.
This not only gives somewhat of an incentive to finish and place in the tournament, but it also provides possible interesting scenarios. Will a seeded player switch a player around to give themselves an easy route into the next round? Will they switch players for "grudge match" or entertainment sake? Will they take up requests for the sake of being nice? I'm hoping we get to see all of that through the seeding process and the ability to switch around players.

Is this a change? Liquipedia and page 1 of this thread still say only the top 4 will be able to switch players.

I actually feel like chances are that the top 8 will look quite differently this time around since there are so many decent players in the qualifiers. Radley and jelly should be able to make it through, though. The player switching looks really imba ^^

Eh, if TelecoM has a legitimate problem with it and can offer a better solution, then by all means, I wanna know. If his solution is to play on weekdays or start right away, that's not possible, since people can't revolve their life around Brood War. I'm not expecting anyone to not go to work or school just to play a couple of games and I don't want them sacrificing much just to play a bit in the tournament. Like Dazed said, people have things to do and ideally, it's best to get the games played on Saturday for casuals like us.

In an effort to sort of hype of the upcoming season that starts in about 2 weeks, I'll be casting select games from the past two seasons on Thursday, May 08 2:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) for roughly about 3-4 hours or so. That'll be when finals are over for me, and I should have plenty of free time by then.
So far, does everyone have an idea on when they're going to play? I'm assuming most everybody will be playing on the designated date on the 24th, save for Group 6. Is Group 8 still going to try and get the games done before the 24th?
Hopefully those that are playing on the 24th remember to be in form and ready to play!
I think we're going to have game 1 done by 18th for both sets. However, I am gone 19-24th so I've asked for my group to play the rest out on 25th so both games 2 and then whoever is in set 3 rather than 24th

Alright, I'll be sure to let you know when a replacement is needed.
And though I mentioned this in the Skype group, if any of you stream or want to stream your Crimson games, do so at your own discretion. There's been stream cheating/ghosting problems in the past, so I highly advise against streaming your games. Again, keep in mind that if you stream while playing your Crimson games, you are simply setting yourself up to be screwed over.

Message me on here with a time and I'll tell you if i can make it, i'm done with finals on Friday so I'll be a lot more free after this week.
So looking ahead to the Ro32, all I ask from castle, Plus, flyingjelly, and Radley is that I don't get a single Protoss in my group. Even if I lose 0-2 to Zerg or Terran, I'll be happy because at least I won't be eliminated to Protoss douchebaggery.

rulzbooom troll :O. I picked bo3 all games b/c most people have less obligations this time of year. Also it allows some actual strategic development throughout a match rather than just bo1. If casting all of the games becomes too much, I'd say just don't worry about casting all of ro32. There will be plenty to cast in the later rounds.

Eh, with puppykiller, nina, and hopefully Lmaster and Birdie helping me out, casting the games aren't the problem. It's just whether the players want to Bo3 the games or not. Personally, I don't care, both have pros and cons. I'll just end the poll on May 24th.

If that means "Are we playing our group games next Saturday?", then yes. So far, Group 8 is the only group that'll be finishing on Sunday, yes? If you need to postponement, please let me and all of your group mates know, not just your initial opponent.
On May 17 2014 07:48 Favian[PaiN] wrote: So we are to play pools next Saturday?
Favian if you and pebble can play your first game sooner it would be ideal. Me and Minsc are playing this Sunday (18th), and then I hafta play at least my game 2(potentially 3) on Sunday 25th cause I won't be available 19th-24th.
I managed to bruise both my wrists this weekend. I basically cannot hold a mouse with my right hand. Nothing's broken but I have no idea how long it will take until I can use my right hand again. This means that I need to forfeit... due to injury...
Notice: Group 7 players, Lannister[BG] needs a PP for 1.5 hours. If need be, reschedule before May 24th, or please try to be in Op Crimson at iCCup at 1:30pm EST

Midnight/1am China time. Which should be 6/7pm Germany time. aka same time as the original schedule, just a day early.
i'll play my first opponent sMi.Shox thursday at 9 am CEST, and the rest of the games of the group 1 (afaik) will be played at the designated time saturday.
i will be about 30/45 mins late for my matches saturday. I'vtried to reschedule and i couldn't, so my first match will be already played and i'll be right in time for the second game. thanks
So far, all of the groups should be playing and getting their games finished after the designated date, except for the following groups:
Group 1 - 30 to 45 minutes postponed
Group 5 - possibly extended until May 25th
Group 7 - 2 hours postponed
Group 8 - extended until May 25th
If you need to postpone and know about it, please post in the thread and PM me and your groupmates about when to postpone. Avoid last minute calls, because it'll probably result in a walkover.

Group 1 shouldn't have to be postponed, Iway and I played our match already. He'll be a little bit late on Saturday but he should be there by the time the other match is over.
I just got promoted this week and therefore I have unforeseen training on Saturday at gametime. I will be able to play on Sunday any time, if possible. I understand it's short notice so I don't expect it to work out smoothly or at all; I'm sorry about that, but unfortunately real life is a priority now ): If it is possible, that would be fantastic. I will be free to play anytime on Sunday.
Group 4 is planning to play our games Friday night (PDT). Haven't heard from Napoleon, but I, AOT, and Squishy are all planning to play. We should have at least one of the winners/losers games done at that time also.
On May 23 2014 14:01 Favian[PaiN] wrote: Why is my group extended? I can play this Saturday.
DNH asked 1 month ago if we could play our game beforehand. He can play on Sunday so the next game after vs me will be on Sunday for both of us.
Basically: you vs me: Saturday regular game time. DNH vs minscandboo: Sunday (regulargametime?) winners and losers match: Sunday right after DNH vs Minscandboo Final match: Sunday after winners losers match.

These dates you proposed are fine with me, if same time of usual. lets just agree all on dates beforehand.
Also your going down
Thanks for reminding me guys,

I've got a slight problem, we're going to be moving soon and my Dad's going to be over all weekend (just found out) working on clearing out a load of stufff so there's a chance I won't be here at 5. I might be free later in the evening, but I know for sure I won't be there for 5. Is there a chance we could play about 9PM GMT my group, or maybe on Sunday evening/Monday?
Currently groups that are postponed and are not expected to start their games within the designated time:
Group 3 - 3 hours postponed 19:00 GMT (+00:00)
Group 4 - possibly postponed until May 25th [waiting on responses of other players]
Group 7 - 1.5 hours postponed 17:30 GMT (+00:00)
Group 8 - extended until May 25th
Group 9 - possibly postponed until May 25th [waiting on responses of other players]
Group 10 - possibly postponed until May 26th [waiting on responses of other players]
Group 12 - extended until May 25th
At this point, players that will not be available on game day must consult their group mates for a postponement. All of the players in the groups must agree for a postponement, otherwise, it will be a walkover loss to the player needing a PP. I do not have any more replacement players waiting in the wings.
If a player outright does not show up during the designated time for 45 minutes, players in the group have the right to take the walkover win. This applies to every game they are required to take part in. (Example: If Player X does not show up for 45 minutes, they forfeit their initial game. If Player X does not show up for an additional 45 minute, or 1 hour and 30 minutes total, they forfeit their loser's game and are eliminated from the tournament.)
Again, this is a reminder that games will take place at Saturday, May 24 4:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) in the channel Op Crimson at the iCCup server, TheAbyss.
Group 10 - possibly postponed until May 26th [waiting on responses of other players]

Totally. And that other moderator was just banning everyone, timing them out. Total gong show, guys. I think this tourney is going to collapse.
So me and Mewka have had to delay our game until tomorrow because as soon as my wall started, three games in a row this happened.
happened to both of us, he saw me as disconnected yet we were both still online/online on skype too. We tried both of us hosting and it was the same thing, apparently he'll be at his place tomorrow so I'm hoping it'll work :/

Special thanks to shamelessly stealing Nina's post since she knows how to make letters big and I liked the line about Fold so I told the same joke again.
Well after a joke of a tournament by me I hope I either get another invite to atleast try and play a game for longer than 2 minutes or get some chance to redeem myself after those two incredibly terrible games from me.
After 20 or so crashes with mewka it finally worked and I wasn't concentrating since I thought it was going to break again and now I'm completely pissed off for making myself look like a total joke. I was on an uphill battle against mewka anyway but to lose that way basically twice in a row has just made me feel terrible.
Can I request nobody casts my games. it's not in the spirit of things but there really isn't any point. I'm already a joke enough as it is without needing to add these to the lists of hundreds of reasons as to why I'm a joke.
People need to stop requesting to not have there games casted, People Lose, People Win, it is part of Starcraft : BroodWar, unless you somehow have a draw / tie game, you are going to win or lose, just enjoy the game and have fun...that is why we are all here supporting this beautiful game.
Stop worrying and start just having fun. Play the game. That is why it is here and that is why it was made, to be played, not to cause stress and worry.

Agreed. + acclimating yourself to embarrassing defeats is how you learn to inflict such things.

Even then losing wouldn't be a big deal, a loss is a loss and I'm happy losing to better players than me because I can learn something. Just like why I've played a bunch with Arcneon in the past and other high rank people over the past few months, but in my head straight after that game I couldn't help but feel it was extenuating circumstances that affected the outcome of that game. I was so sure it was going to crash again, I don't think I was even concentrating.
I didn't want my games casted purely because I was totally pissed off with myself. I lost within 5 minutes the second game and lost within the first 5 in the first one pretty much. All I want to do is play in tournaments, improve and go go again because they're fun, however somehow this one I didn't even really play at all. :\
I want to wish Mewka and dazed good luck, but in my head even though I know I lost fair and square I don't think I can do anything but blame the circumstances leading up to the situation and that's what annoyed me.I mean I was ready if it didn't work to step down and let Mewka through anyway since I knew he has a better chance than me than getting further, but it doesn't mean I didn't feel confident enough in my ability to beat him. I'd practiced so much that it'd be impossible for me not to be confident.
Hopefully I get a chance to redeem myself in Maroon. I've got even less of a chance there because the level of play is higher, but I'm gonna dust myself off and keep practicing. because that's how I am. I'm sorry for getting annoyed. Once again, gl to mewka and dazed!
EDIT: and trust me, I've had worse defeats than the ones I've faced here. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff I've losst to. It's why I never usually get pissed off :p

I was gonna be nice, but draw just roasted you for like 20 minutes, saying terrible, terrible personal-attack things. It was hard to listen to, and once his tirade of insults was finished, everyone was silent, in total shock.
nice slander. BTW why not move anyone? that is some bs. at least your whole group is zvp now but seeing as how you dodge the net i bet you wont be prepared :facepoop:

Would you believe me if I said that my 4 vultures couldn't lay mines (for that tank) for some weird reason thus being unable to kill SCVs, not even a single one! >< Game against Trozz was just me not knowing the map at all and didn't realize that his third was so close (thought it'll be at 6 or he didn't take one yet until too late).

damn it dRaW! Thank you Nina for your honesty. Much appreciated
Just watched syncs cast of my games. I can safely say especially in the game against dazed I was just as confused playing it as he was casting it.
I sent 3 different scvs to build my expansion long before it actually started up and each time they either got stuck somewhere or never actually started it. If you watch again and look at the minimap you'll see I had about 3 or 4 scvs all sat behind my natural not doing anything when they should've been building a command center ;;
Everything about those two games were disasters for me, but it happens and now I'll just have to take out the pain on my next opponents :p
Oh and sync, for saying you don't like Fantasy you can go to hell where you belong heathen :p
Hindsight is 20/20, but best thing to take out of that game is to stay calm and relaxed throughout the situation. Keep in mind that mech can be considered ridiculously overpowered, especially if your opponent isn't as knowledgeable in beating mech. Granted, with your SCV's not building Command Centers because of other things getting in your way or you not having enough money at the time probably bothered you mentally, and hurt the result, be aware of the situation. Again, hindsight is 20/20, but you could've just opted to stay within your base, camp, get your mech upgrades, and slowly start expanding, pushing along the map, and force Zerg to make ineffective trades with you while you slowly start to wittle down at his economy via harass and just making him bleed money.
Also, I DID say FanTaSy was a good player, no doubt, he was a pro after all... I just said I didn't like his style of play, but that's just my opinion, so who cares, lol :D
The 4th place will be allowed to switch once, 3rd place will be allowed to switch twice, 2nd place will be allowed to switch three times, and the Champion will be allowed to switch four times.
^ this 4 person switch is pretty crazy lol. The randomness factor is kind of lost, so might as well have had the 8 seeded players choose the entire groups from the start.

Eh, then where's the incentive to win one season and play again the next other than simple bragging rights and a meager prize pool, if at all?
It's a painful process for those that aren't getting ideal matchups, sure, but if you want a stagnant, nothing out of the ordinary tournament that has nothing new with a map pool featuring Fighting Spirit, Python, Destination, Circuit Breaker, etc. and just straight into a tournament bracket, you're not going to get it here.
As a side, things like this are really why I didn't want to host Maroon anymore and am thinking about not even hosting a tournament anymore. I post a thread, describing all the information and dates and what's gonna happen throughout the tournament in the OP, and send out an invitation. Not only does no one read the thread and ask questions that are obviously answered in the thread, they seem to have problems regarding things such as dates or processes such as this, despite having it written in the OP. Problem isn't people not reading, it's the lack of cooperation.
Eh, in the end, it's whatever. If you guys don't like the way it's done, feel free to forfeit.
I must admit it's been incredibly stupid the sheer amount of people who in 20 pages somehow failed to both read the OP and those who chose to ignore it and complain anyway despite the information being there when they accepted the invite. Stop complaining and just enjoy the tournament you clowns :p
(I realise this his hypocritical considering how mad I got with everything, but that was more me being mad at myself, thanks for the advice a page back btw sync <3)
Everyone complaining about the switches is a little bitch, do none of you remember the MSL selection ceremonies?! They were some of the most hilarious and entertaining events with people cajoling each other and trying desperately to avoid certain groups and asking for favours from teammates etc in their switches!
Have to agree though, if you don't like the way the tourney is run, don't sign up or run your own when this shit was all clearly stated in the OP.

Or we could all stop acting like girls, and take criticisms for what they are, criticisms? Not referring to the people who are actually asking for a mid-season change of the rules, which is ridiculous, but complaints arent. I think we can all agree this isnt an ideal tournament, so why get riled up when people offer suggestions and critiques?

Criticism without useful input is worthless, no one offered suggestions, people were just bitching about the player switching which was clearly stated in the OP.
I don't think we can all agree on that, as far as I can tell RA has done his best to run this tournament to the guidelines set in the OP, despite people not showing up or otherwise causing issues and lacking read comprehension, and he has tried to accommodate players a lot. The only thing he has available to enforce playing outcomes is walkovers or delays to schedule, neither ideal.
So I don't think that this has to do with taking on board suggestions or positive criticism for further seasons. If people can politely and helpfully provide feedback I'm sure he can work with that, but everyone complaining about a tourny when they're all sitting on their arse and not working to help with anything from scheduling to liquipedia is just a bunch of people being whiny bitches and not anything related to legitimate complaints

By not ideal, I meant merely that every tourny can be improved
And yeah, some people criticized without offering direct alternative suggestions, but saying 'the tournament is too long' is itself a suggestion, i.e make it shorter, and so on. People could be more constructive sure, but things like: "and if you don't like it, you're always free to fuck off" arent exactly helping anything either.

Again, keep in mind that Ro32 date was changed back to Saturday, Jun 07 4:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00). Walkover rules apply, if you need to postpone, PM me AND your group mate with reason.
Group D can we play 1 hour earlier due to the fact I got a Yugioh tournament at 12:30 pm Central US Time and I don't want to be rushed to finish the games to go to the tournament. Thanks! Stardom[eMg]

Players, keep in mind that the hard deadline for Round-of-32 results/replays will be Sunday, Jun 08 4:59am GMT (GMT+00:00), meaning there is no potential postponement. If you are unavailable at the designated time, try and play earlier and/or whenever you are available before the deadline. If you do NOT play your games, it will be a walkover. If an entire group does not show up, the entire group will be walked over. If only one player advances and the rest of the games are not finished, the remaining players will be walked over. Of course, keep in mind, that if you ARE available but your opponent is not in contact and/or refuses to play, they will be walked over.
Be sure to play your games this time around. Again, no potential postponement. Read the thread, be aware of the map rotation, get the map-pack if you need it, and play your games.

I understand where you are coming from completely, but just a simple question, if the next date of ro16 games are not untill the 14th, than why would games not be allowed to be played before the 14th instead of walkovers? Just curious.
