I still find the format of having the first 2 sets of games and the final game best of 3's and the winners and losers a best of 1 a bit weird. It would make more sense to have the first 2 games best of 1's and the other 3 sets best of 3's. But whatever more Broodwar can't complain.

Well you know who you are facing in the opening matches. Having it as a best of 3 makes practicing more useful.

I guess that's true.
it just seems that the best of 3's should be the more important matches where people go through or out. But again it doesn't really matter. Just happy to see Broodwar

It's double-elimination either way. I like this format a bit more ^_^

We're gonna have a reinforcement war now.
I think Hiya got this easy. He already contained exp and main. Once he takes out top left, its gg, no money.
Seems you're right.
I though Lazy might be able to get enough units out to kill the isolatted siege tanks. But Hiya did a much better job of reinforcing.
you make a good point. ya, his macro was spot on during that engagement so he was able to reinforce better.
I'm watching Hiya's stream so I had no idea what condition lazy's economy (how many gatways he had) was in and whether he could produce enough units. But the siege tanks looked very vulnerable for a while after the engagement.

I was watching his as well, just an assumption on my part.
If Hiya wins this game he will be through but there will be no more Hiya games to watch. Mixed feelings.
He's one of thoughs players who can always manage to lose some how so I guess I should cheer for him to go straight through and not risk the final match series.
That Hydra bust was pretty scary. But the angle of attack was bad been engaged all along a thin front on both sides. edit: And Hiya was a legendary OZ Progamer. Maybe slightly more know for his personality than his gaming but he was still pretty dam good.
Wraiths look so imba in this game . The attack was not very well executed, he would probably be better by staying in the natural and getting some more ovies there.

I think it was the choke to the main that was the issue but agree. Wraiths too imba.

former Hawseung OZ A teamer, pretty much second best on his team during his time(best being Jaedong of course).
Yup, Hiya at his best was really friggin good back then. He slipped to #3 when int he final season when Killer went minidong mode but otherwise he is quite good at terran.
Hiya has one of the best personalities he's always mucking around and doing things. Most of the progamers back then where really shy and formal and a bit boring. But Hiya would always do something interesting or even just have a smile and be happy. Emotion thats what we want to see.
2k sounds a little bit low for the main stream for Korean viewers but I wouldn't know. putting on these tournments all the prize money. I'd like to think theres more than 2,000 people watching.
Cola really impressed me. Great Templar sniping and good doging of what few storms made it out onto the battlefield. Lazy should have had the advantage after the failed 5 pool. Good game.

There wasn't really a final battle just a slow collapse from Lazy. Hydras over ran the 12 o clock and only one storm came out in defence. The sniping made all the difference.

Cola's fourth got sniped and he was running out of units. It was pretty clear at the end that the Protoss won.

FS4life!
for fucks sake, the last bit of hydras were attacking Lazy's 4th, Lazy had a bigger army and steam rolled the 4th of cola, cola calls GG as he can't reinforce.
at the end of the game, cola had very little army mostly hydras, no 4th and still on lair.

Someone should stop being cranky and maybe re-read this:

In other words, I completely missed the ending of the game and came back when game 2 started so I dunno who gg'd and went off what was written there
