This will be a thread for the next LIVE day at Blizzcon. Ill start it by quoting one of the few worthy posts in the other thread, Leg's Day 1 report.

So then i had 1 full health and 2 pansy low health goons left and they died fast, i brought my reaver back just in time to save my base, and kill off his last units, but i hadn't actually killed too many of his scvs. Followed up with a dble reaver drop and it killed 1 tank 2 vults and died to the last tank T_T he then had a bigger econ and a short while later it was GG 2nd game was on an evil roads to antiga map. I went 2 gate multi to minerals, 3 gate obs to 5 gate then multi again. He attacked just as my multi was up i had about 18 speed zeals and 8 goons, and somehow i lost everything to his puny little army that map hacker. So yeah i held it off and ended up with a carrier or two but in the end he had most of the map and it was over. Its a pity too as i was pretty sure my art cheese on king of abyss map was a sure win, and i'm disappointed with my first game where i think i had it. But oh well thats 3 months no gaming for me  (what a suck out excuse!) Anyway after the match i wanted nal_ra to use my secret zealot jumping build on abyss and so i kidnapped him and sat him down on a comp and showed him ( the koreans had done NO practice (which makes it look worse for the foreigners!) they had only seen the maps the day before so they hadn't practiced on them - so i thought i'd give him a nice build for it, to get some revenge !) Unfortunately he lost 2-0 and didn't go to the third map OR it was ruled out i'm not sure. So noone saw my art build I am HOPING to get ALL of the sc players into a jousting tournament (helmets + soft polls standing on a raised platform hitting each other trying to knock them off) and if we do i'll try and do it in the same format as what the groupings were so i can RAPE nada~!hoho My games vs mondragon went as expected fortunately i won a match vs him, and as you know i wasn't expecting to do well here and was just hoping to win at least one game, so that made my day! Testie and assem took bloody ages to finish their games, i think they are both big turtles!!! (i didn't see most of it as i was challenging these other ppl in the jousting game, ended up taking down the 10x champion then winning around 8-9 before i quit from being exhausted (and a kinked neck that the little shits kept aiming for!) There is a rock climbing thing which i failed at horrible, tis just an air blow up thing and i'm a fat little giant so i couldn't get a grip on the little air/rubber footholds they just fell away under me. Big ghost area where you can play ghost, see different game cut scenes and demos (GHOST looks pretty darn good - as do the sc cut scenes in it!) WOW Expansion area, WOW battleground tournament. Big blizzard art area to look at pics and stuff. Things to buy, stuff to see, its a pretty massive arena you lot will see pics soon enough i guess. So Koreans all in top 4 if testie loses vs ra. Mondragon was lucky with 3x zvp in a row! he took a game off of reach which was impressive. Oh yeah the other day we did a tour of blizzards headquarters and a bit of the hollywood area. Was nice, we tried to break into the off limits NEW GAME under development area but we fell into the trapfloors and other tricks they have to keep ppl out. (mondragon latched onto one of the developers legs like a little zergling grabbing a juicy steak, they only got him off by throwing soda cans at him.) But it was all to no avail as we didn't find out anything: ( Oh on a side note, we on the hollywood trip we all went to one of the hooters bar and nal_ra (especially) along with the other koreans (except nada as he arrived a day late) loved seeing the white chicks in little clothes flirting. Apparently if that happens in korea they get fired. It was funny watching nal_ra go googly eyed at her  Anyway fun to be had by all!
Your lucky I wasnt there, your boomerang style of gladiator would be no match for my curling broom kata's.
Also, Testie got destroyed 0-2 vs Ra.

On a side note, I really hope that this thread for day two can turn out to be less retarded than the last one. If you want to complain about Blizzcon (which I believe is warrented) do it somewhere else, rather than here. I just read through so much bs trying to see the live reports.

Like I said in the Day 1 thread, I wonder if we are watching Koreans displaying what they've learned through practice games on the BlizzCon maps or if this is simply Korean adaptability to new maps under a short period of time.
To be honest, I don't think the Koreans prepared that much for BlizzCon and much of it is just innate gameplay sense after glacing over the maps.

in mondragons room right now playing cards with testie assem mondie and arthur (mondies german friend)
been here for a while though i think mondie just passed out, we really should draw things on his face or something... not quite sure.
some other things from yesterday
the tour blizzard held the day before, testie borrowed a phone and called his gf who immediately wanted to talk to reach and yellow, so when they got reach onto the phone and he said hello, it was followed with an ear piercing scream of excitement which could be heard by everyone on the tour from 20 metres away! this of course continued for almost everything that was uttered out of reaches and yellows mouth, it was quite amusing, poor testie was only the middle man just so she could try and hook up with reach!!!
a guy dressed up as a marine actually won the dress up tournament and won a nice computer for his effort. there were so many awesome costumes though. i never actuallz saw him but it was apparently really good. can anyone find any pics
i had another go on the jousting game, won about 20 in a row, and was exhausted half way through, in the end the blizzard guy who was on it came up and beat me 2-1
its all good though because there was a tv group that had one of the dressed up girls beat up their announcer on it for fun, then i got to (nicely) shove the girl off and continue my reign! 5 mins later he cameb ack and got some more fotage of me vs some random guy then later on he came b ack and we i was doing fake fighting vs the cameraman so he would get some good fotage. so i sucked at sc but at least i willbe a famous jousting champion!
oh yeah, one of theblizzard directors or someone has a truck thats completely covered in large war3 images painted onto the car. i think the <sk gaming site has a lot of pics so ppl should go there to have a look at things
tommorrow is an open sc tourney and the finals of the sc stuff, also the offspring willbe singing tommorrow and some comedians and other such jovial things going on.
the sc reps will probably be released in a day or so when they are all gatherered
mondragons laptop sucks the german keys are all mixed up so this took twice as long to type than normal! (well onlz the y and z are mixed up) but i canät find the delete and otherthings as well
not really anything else to say

yeah ra was wondering why he couldnät just pylon on one side of the minerals jump thenbuild gateway on nadas side, but i explained to him that that defeats the purpose of it as he can see what build he is doing and counter with rine bunker thus its useless, but my one he scouts sees nothing then dies to the first 2 zeals while teching.

Reach's PvP is almost unbeatable nowadays. Last time I remember him losing a PvP was a year and a half ago. I predict 2-0

rA just deafeted zeus 2-0 so think rA is more prepared for playing pvp so that migth affect the game. but i'm afraid reach will win

And since when has Zeus EVER won a PvP? Zeus is pretty much the worst PvP out of any pro so I wouldn't count on it much.

True. Except that right now, both NaDa AND YellOw are incredibly slumping. NaDa's out of both Dual and Survivor, which is pretty bad, and YellOw's also out of Dual, and is just barely surviving Survivor with a re-game. And if he loses that he's also out just like NaDa.
And then YellOw has the reputation of doing really good in event matches. But then again NaDa's 1v1 stats in the Sky-Proleague is astounding. And YellOw's ZvT has been doing really bad (losing to a 15 year old progamer, and TossGirl) while NaDa's TvZ is almost as unstable, but a little better.
So basically it's gonna be a tough match.... wait, what was the point I was trying to make again?

They went around each other and traded expos, followed by Ra easily getting in Reach's base and doing damage. All the while Reach couldn't reciprocate damage to Ra's main because he came in with DTs, plus Reach didn't have the observers he needed while Ra would have.

I made a post on radioitg about wacksteven sucking at casting SC and he responded almost immediately while I was in the shower.

I was pissed as all fuck that he would completely ignore the reaver killing ra's base cause he didnt know it was happening

On top of being an all around terrible caster, his knowledge of Starcraft is so amazingly lacking that the only reason anyone enjoys his casting is to make fun of everything he says.
WCG 2004 people thoroughly enjoyed mocking every stupid mistake he made and came to the conclusion that they wouldn't actually know what's going on in the game from listening to the cast.
I can't recall him being as bad then as he currently is doing at Blizzcon. I can safely say now that the stream is working correctly the only thing ruining this is Wacksteven.
He doesn't even know the names of half of the units and abilities, or what they do. He has no semblance whatsoever of strategy within Starcraft.
If he is to be casting WCG 2005 can I please make the suggestion that he makes the effort to learn something about this game? Or if he refuses to can you find someone who actually does know this game? At this point, with extremely limited casting experience, I am 100% confident I could do a better job than him. So if you guys want I'll gladly go to Singapore on your dime and the cast would be better for it.
I'm sure there are people out there who would do a much better job than him. Even I could. I'm sure he is a nice guy but at this point his inability to cast this game is ruining the event for many of us who were very excited to hear that their favorite foreigners would be able to go up against pros.
There have been several instances where he has completely neglected what was going ingame out of sheer ignorance on his part. It's hopelessly unprofessional and really bringing down the event for many of us who looked forward to it.
Furthermore, this is a very good opportunity to showcase the talent in this game, where players are contracted for hundreds of thousands of dollars. This event could have been used to bolster foreign interest in professional starcraft gaming, and radioitg is responsible for that never happening allowing such half assed shoutcasting to take place.
Bunny on the otherhand did very well, and I think appealed greatly to the people who did not follow pro WC3, myself included. She included the audience in ways wacksteven never did. He also did not appease the people who actually follow the game, and had he known what he was doing I would be convinced he was making a mockery of it.

Do you honestly think anyone can cast well on a subject that they know little to nothing about? You can't really argue that you know anything about starcraft on an intermediate level let alone a professional level which would be required to accurately sum up what is occuring on screen at any given time during this level of play.
As for people telling you how great it was, it wasn't. Maybe next game you can have them come up during the prolonged silences between you regaling us with tales about chicken wings and people "scouting" the others probes to death with reavers during the game defining moment (which you then went on to say "they are just doing some more scouting, it's nothing to get excited about")
edit: and I'm sure you are a fantastic guy and totally WaCk and CraZy IRL, and admittedly your comedic relief does work, but inbetween your naming scouting probes (which was funny) there is an actual game going on that you don't comprehend.
Your inability to cast SC is a direct result of you not knowing the game more than anything. That's all I'm saying, and I have an entire SC community who would back me up on that.
I admit i was being really mean but he does suck amazing amounts of cock at casting SC

Yep, I agree more with this list than any of others. But since so many zergs are good Zv´P it's hard to say who's the best of them, but the only one I've seen recently who made protoss players cry in frustration was Ipxzerg.

What I cant understand is why he hasnt even made SOME preparations for the event. Browsing a starcraft strat forum for an hour or so and perhaps make a few notes so he at least knows the very basics. Even though that kind of "effort" wouldnt be payed everyone must have SOME sense of pride or a feeling of wanting to do a good job right???
Although its whoever hired him who is to blame but I know if I was going to be making radiobrodcast to as many people as he is, I would make "my homework".
I sure hope I have video stream for WCG so I can shut down sound and still follow the games. :/

Wacksteven's complete lack of knowledge for the game really hurts the event. When I watch a Korean VOD, I don't even know anything they're saying, yet just hearing the commentary gets me excited and adds so much more drama to the game.
Wacksteven's commentary turns me from extremely excited about the game to downright bored.
He may not be such a bad caster if he has more knowledge about the game. Hearing his commentary really shows that his inability to perform as a good caster is due to his lack of game knowledge. If he doesn't understand anything about any strategy concepts of the game, he really can't say anything more than just x is scouting and x is attacking. If Wacksteven takes some time to learn about the game, he could become a much better caster.
Lastly, he puts no emotions into the commentary. Watching a Korean VOD you can really feel the commentators put emotions into it. You can feel the excitement because they themselves are excited. Wacksteven doesn't even get excited at all at any part of the game and it makes me almost fall to sleep.

He doesn't learn the strategies / current trends of starcraft because of the fact that it's rarely casted outside korea. He knows 95 % of the spells/units and has basic knowledge of the game. It also sounds like he was very limited due blizzard/shitty stage setup to reveal what the players are doin outside scouting/attacking. Give the man a break

I like your broadcasts, WackSteven, but the frustration comes from not being able to see the video stream (GGL's bandwidth problems, etc.) and having only your limited commentary on how the game is going on the audio stream. It makes it extremely hard to follow games, especially on new maps, where strategies haven't been defined and you really can't guess at what players will do.
There are things that generally need to be known that you don't cover:
Number of expansions, upgrades, tech paths.
If you could keep those things in mind and announce it once the players have scouted it, that'd make following the audio commentary much easier.

No, making units able to upgrade 3 or more times in a UMS is a simple thing you can do with an editor. It's easy to fix too. hopefully blizzard will do soemthing asap

This is how it is, Roads to Antiga prime was made in starforge (or some non-staredit thing), and should by rights have been disqualified. So yeah, it had the 3 x reaver upgrade (not doable in staredit), weird ramps or bridges (can't remember) which had to be redone and it was the worst map of the bunch ...
Kind of feel a bit pissed off at how badly he disregarded the rules :[

Unlike Brood War, War3 unfortunately takes a much deeper understanding to fully appreciate.

True that. Not to mention she's played a large number of games herself on the b.net ladder. Close to 1k, etc. So it's not just understand the game but also a large amount of first-hand experience.

yes you're correct, kingdom did that build like last month or something. except, when kingdom did it, chojja didn't know he was cheesing him and mondy did, i don't know why mondragon didn't try to kill it off with some drones.

GGL has actually thought this through by having 4 different mirrors for streaming, but they are easily sending out thousands of terabytes of data. With this demand you can't do anything about it unless you lessen the traffic by charging 20$ or so.

The best casters are GOOD gamers who didnt make it REALLY big.. And they should be good at the thing, wack is good, too. But thats just poor.. if you dont have a real clue about the game you are casting..

It would be cool if he had a good idea of how to play the game and could thus comment on the different possible strategies on the map, just like the korean commentators seem to do in the early game. That way there would be so much dead air and silence.

He has around 8-10 1st place tourneys, and some being from OGN and some from KPGA, but the thing is I can't tell which ones are actually Starleagues and which ones are event matches.

I browsed over every page in this thread, and just had to see Wacksteven's commentary for myself. I understand his situation, not being able to reveal strategies and such, but he really has no clue what he's talking about. I know I'm quite picky, as most starcraft fans are; but it is just so annoying. Little things like "Wow, we have the little probe that could happening at Nada's choke. He appears to be trying to get through the barracks into the base. He's going to do some minor damage here." His shoutcasts are just constantly filled with minor incorrect facts. Like when Nada goes for the fast push; Wacksteven couldn't explain what Nada was really doing and why he was doing it.
This next example really bugged me:
Instead of saying "Ra's sending his first goon to do some damage to Nada's rax; to pull an SCV off the minerals to repair and in general see any activity from Nada if he decides to come out of his base. With his goon he has seen that Nada has few tanks, and is probebly anticipating a 1 fac 1 port build, and has sent his first DT to harrass NAda's wall. He is going to altar his strategy to conform and counter Nada's"
We get:
"Ra is in the orange...Nada is in the purple. Orange is a pretty stylish for Protoss...Where as purple is pretty frugal, but with this game you must take what you can get...Oh what do we have here?! A DT is attacking Nada's wall!"
I understand his position, but Bunny did a far better job shoutcasting the WC3 games.

Curiously enough I didn't enjoy the war3 cast (only listened to one game though) because it's just so very hard to make creeping sound interesting T_T
And wacksteven not being able to comment the players builds of course makes it very hard to cast, I think he's good, and with some studying he could get very good!
Now, anyone got the replays from day 2 ^_^?

I liked Wack's humor, but didn't enjoy the lack of knowledge. Especially since the stream was "Wacked", so the radio was all we had left, and he couldn't really explain the situation well enough to draw it in our heads. Like I suggested before, have WackSteven comment for his humorous sence, and someone else with much knowledge co-cast. Maybe even a third person, like OGN and MBC.

Are you kidding? The crowd that was there watching the last three matches was HUGE. There were easily 300-400 people watching. When Heroes would get away or die by a slim margin, or when a large battle would start, people would go nuts. Maybe you couldn't hear it on the stream though.

Whacksteve is a pretty good commentator (hardly any stuttering, umms, or pauses) but yeah, he doesn't understand starcraft so he was a bad choice.

yeah. personaly id rather have someone whos not that great of a commentator but who knows the game details and players backgrounds. and is able to tell what part of game to focus on. in yellow vs reach he was talking about some random shit, then zooms on reach's main and nexus is in red HP from 2 lurkers.

Guys, if you want a better commentator than Wacksteven, FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN COMMENTATE and volunteer for radioITG. They do this for free and its not easy to find people who can talk about the game, show excitement and know everything about the players, the maps and the strategies. When I was trying to find someone to replace Tasteless for the WCG USA 2005 finals when he was late because he overslept, this is exactly what the radioITG people were looking for. They had to make sure that the person they send up there to commentate can talk. Btw, Tasteless did a VERY good job of commentating at the wcg usa 2005 finals (minus the whole announcing the wrong winner thing =x). I highly recommend him for any commentating needed. We also need someone who has a good eye for the action. There were several times when we had to scream to WackSteven where to click because he was missing a building expansion, drop or harassment at parts of the minimap.
One of the complaints I had was that WackSteven focused too much on Reach's base because yellow had 3 lings idling in there for a small period of time and all the while I was wondering what Yellows base had but he hardly clicked there. Another thing he also neglects to mention are the unit upgrades. Its important to click on the units to show the upgrades or to click on a building building to know what it is when doing commentating. If you are someone who is willing to help out, try volunteering for radioITG or something because they are I believe one of only two big shoutcast sites (the other being TSN). And if you do get the job, please don't name the stupid scouting peons. I realize that its important to get the crowd that doesn't know as much about StarCraft involved and interested in the game but its kinda lame to get the crowd hyped up about a scouting peon...
