Why so? We got to see a very outstanding build. Who knows if it will start a trend? This just shows how much depth BW has.
Now you mention it, I haven't seen so many Valkyries in TvZ before.
Committing to mass valk as biovalk build vs Z is dangerous and unreliable. The first crucial point at that game was Canata killing the 3rd at 11, while JD did barely enough damage in a turretless main. Remember Terran econ is sturdy, and you have to really stop a base to make any harass significant. JD went for lurk + hive, at one point greter spire to deal with the valks. Canata seized on the small advantage and opening and just prevented JD from getting bases while valks kill overlords all around that it looked like PvZ. JD had 1k minerals and gas but no supply to support it. When he finally was able to stabilize, he lost so much time and lost his last mining base to still be able to catch up. The map layout and spawn location also helped Canata with his valk based build.
Ace riding some confidence right now and everyone is playing great. Long may it continue.
Things aren't so rosy for Team 8's. Knowing all your best friends have gone and lost their jobs too most be hard to deal with and they have little no job security themselves until they find a sponsor. It must be pretty hard to get motivated in new surroundings new faces and not knowing the future. I hope they all get along as well as I see them doing in my head and they can pull togther some true team spirit pretty soon, but nothings guaranteed.
i'll give team 8 the benefit of the doubt by blaming it on being on a brand new team therefore it may take time to adjust to each other before the players can benefit from one another....

What is funny is that ACE doesn't even get to practice that much. Therefore, the excuse that Jaedong and other T8 members have little practice time is nonsensical. Clearly, ACE is able to do well despite the little practice time they have.
