I think it would have been really funny if the last switch from hydra was sea for dear.

Honestly, I'm pissed off at Hydra and Great, like many other people here, because now not only will it be harder for JD to progress, but Sea will have an incredibly tough time of it as well. Those two are some of my favorite players, and I would like to see them both make good runs in the MSL.

I'm still trying to figure out Hydra's mindset because his passing the group stages is no picnic either. He has Light to play (the best TvZer behind Flash), while GGaemo and Tyson are no slouches either, although not quite up to his level. I suppose his thinking was that if he could make it out of the group, he would be in a very good position to win because at least 1 (maybe 2 if Sea plays well) of the TBLS will be eliminated.

if you ignore the dickish move, i think hydra was pretty smart. like you said it's maximising his chances of winning further down the track. i would say his mindset is pretty obvious

hydra is an msl champion, i'm pretty confident he can beat light, who is pretty average for a terran

Sounds like you've never watched Light's TvZ or Hydra's ZvT for that matter.

wtf group D.

also @ above who said "light should be easy for hydra"... if light gets to 3 base, he's got the best TvZ in the world so I'm not sure what world you've been living in. unless you were being sarcastic, but it's too early for sarcasm :/

Uhhh what?
Light is 65% in TVZ. He's won his last 7 TVZ's, against opponents like jaedongx2, roro and calm. Apart from flash he has probably the best tvz unless you count fantasy having a good day. Not only is he consistent in tvz, he wins long macro games, and he's in form, and he has woonjin zergs to practice with. I dont see this bullshit ending well for hydra

also light has played hydra once, in mst, and won

theres the battle report. The "recommended games" section simply says "outclassed".

Haha, how long have you been following the scene? Light's TvZ is pretty much on the same level as Flash's.

Oh my god... group D is just crap. Hopefully JD and B advance, but at the end it could be sea and flash. Nice job hydra, killed all the joy of msl playoffs.

If this were 2005, Group D would be played in Busan with 20,000 spectators.

Wouldn't it be fun if Sea lol-raped his way through the group 2-0, like Hwasin did when he was in that group with FBH, Flash and JD? :D

Some semi team kills (FBH Stork, ruby hyun, light tyson) but yea, no straight up team kills.

And as others have said before: Light competes with flash for best TvZ. And he is probably top 5 TvT as well (behind fantasy, flash, skyhigh (non slump), and maybe leta).

Edit: I thought light was a lot better at TvT than his record shows... oh well
