Q : You guys are from the same team
Yellow : The first thing we promised each other when we got into semis was lets never ever meet in the 3/4 deciding match. It's kinda sad that teammates played the 3/4 match but I don't have regrets because we had great games. If I just win at Dual Tournament things will be the same.
Reach : When it was decided I will be playing a teammate at 3/4 deciding match I just cleared my mind. I joked with Yellow at our house that "Dual is going to be very hard" (Just to clear things up Reach was not saying he didn't care but that he decided to not have pressure and just have fun)
Q : (To Reach) How did you feel when you lost your first game?
Reach : I felt that I must win 2, 3, and 4th match. I won the 2nd and 3rd match and was in the advantage during the 4th match but Yellow played so well. At the end part of the 4th game I had a hard time saying "GG" because I thought I would loose for sure at Mercury on the 5th game.
Q : (To Yellow) Did you have a winning scenario?
Yellow : I didn't specifically plan out which games to win and which games to loose. I won so much during practice and I was very confident. So when I won the first match I thought I would win for sure. I believed firmly that the maps were favoring my side. The fact that maps favor your side isn't only a good thing. I thought that the maps favored me heavily and so I slacked off during practice, and I also think that if the opponent finds a counter strat on a disfavoring map, the opponent will have a good chance at winning.
Q : (To Reach) What was you favorite game today?
Reach : I like the 2nd game at Requiem. I feel like I won in a "Protoss" Style. A true man's pride should is zealots.
Q : (To Yellow) Comment on the 5th game.
Yellow : Don't ask. (He laughs) I think I lost in the 5th game because I lost too many units for attacking. I knew high templars were using storms but I just attacked blank-mindedly. After that I got a hold of myself but it was too late to turn it back.
Q : (To Yellow) How do you feel going down to Dual tournament?
Yellow : Like I said if I pass the Dual tournament there is no difference with getting a seed. Let's just say that I gave up the seed for Reach. If we weren't on the same team I would be mad but since my teammate beat me for third place I have no bad feelings. Afterall Reach did get 3rd place so he sould buy people a meal. (In Korea when its your birthday, or if something good happens you treat your friends/family/people to a meal+whatever you want) After this interview I will discuss with him about what he is going to treat us with.
Reach : Of course I will buy Yellow what he wants since I beat him. (He smiles) I won't choose what to buy, Yellow can choose what he wants.
Q : Your last comments of tonight.
Yellow : I feel relieved. I will go back to a beginner's mind and practice for the Dual. After loosing 3-0 to Boxer I lost a will to play the game. Although I lost today, I will practice hard and pass the dual and appear in the next starleauge.
Reach : First of all, it feels kind of empty now that the Starleague is over. I accomplished my first goal of getting a seed but its natural for a person to want more and in the next starleague I want to get in the finals, and do more than just earn a seed.

"I knew high templars were using storms" Omg kekekekek ^^ He was really in high spirits after that series.
But I think he is mad that he must play in Dual...

Reach looks like a pimp, Yellow, well...

cool yellow dont be mad we're waiting for your comeback =]

Reach have hairs on chest !!!
btw He looks like a macho

Yellow looks cool about losing this match, let's hope he can get his art going for the premiere league finals and the next starleague.
[BOyGiRl]ShaRp you are the man! thx a lot for the interviews.
|
Oh they must be really good friends.
|
nice interview with perfect translatio by sharp ^^
|
the nicest thing in this interview is taht yellow isn't dissapointed like he was in the game vs boxer and that make my feelings alright(i was very sad about yellow TT)
|
|
thanks for the translation Sharp
Yellow sure seems to be full of excuses these days
after Boxer "The maps and units favoured him, zerg suxxors!!!!"
after Reach "The maps and units favoured me, which made me prepare more poorly. Plus if the opponent finds a counter strat on a map you're favoured on, it's hard to win."
Poor Yellow!!!
Seriously I feel pretty bad for zerg players... I mean this is the guy that you have to look to be your hero. Compared to Boxer, GARIMTO, even Reach talking about how to win in the manly way is so much cooler than a whiner like Yellow.
|
good interview ^^ thx for the translation =)

Thank you very much
nice guys

I dont think Yellow is using the map thing to excuse himself for losing to Reach; he's blaming himself for not practice hard enough and being overconfident about the map favouring. And on the second part of the answer, he's just stating the obvious: if a player find a viable counter strat on a disfavouring map he may win the game.

I think you're really being ridiculous by the way, I mean, by acting like a 12 years old. "Coolness", "Manly", "Ho ho, what a whiner" :r Learn to read. YellOw wasn't complaining in my opinion.

You must love Reach for that Great translation + unspoiled topic

He's acusing Yellow of "girlish" (I hope no girl is reading this ) behavior. I dont defend Hautamaki's point that "Boxer, GARIMTO, even Reach" > Yellow though, but I see his point.
|
Well you've only seen Yellow lose two big games back to back.. I will easily let a excuse or two slip from his mouth cuz I'm sure as a pro, you probably known when and what you did wrong and yellow feels he wants to share that. No Biggie.
And Nigga plz, Garim wasn't that great a winner or charismatic, he was just genius. Boxer's charisma has been grown since he was pro. Look at Box vs Yel back in Coke... actually I suggest you don't cuz the capes ruin it but Boxer is much more affable and sociably presented than back then.

In fact I don't even think that Hautamaki got YellOw's point at all.
Well, accusing someone to be "girlish" because of stating facts isn't intelligent, is it? Yes, YellOw said that the map favored him, thus he had prepared poorly. But at what point did he exactly say that it was the fucking maps' fault? How, by stating that you have been an idiot for being overconfident are you blaming someone else? How in hell by blaming yourself you're considered as a retard, or a whiner?
That's why I'm saying Hautamaki is being childish.

Nice interview... Seems like it was a good, memorable series and it's good that the two ended on a good note...
|
yes, im very glad the way yellow sounded in this interview
I think he must have been really hungry, I mean look at him. And he's still so cheerful after losing because reach will buy him a meal. Hong jin ho hungry~~
|
Nice interview. It's nice to see yellow getting back to himself (confident) again.
And Good Job Reach.
|
Congrats to both of these players for making a good fight.
Yellow was simply being honest, that's all. I also liked Reach's comments about zealots. ^^ It's not something I'd expect a progamer to say.
|
Yellow seems so much happier about losing to Reach than Boxer. The games and the match, IMO, was better than the Yellow vs Boxer match. Too bad he felt overconfident; or he might have beaten Reach. Thanks for the interview, and GG Yellow and Reach.
|
Reach looks mean to me. Don't know why...
Nice interview by the way. I enjoyed watching the games!
|
lol you would not expect reach to be a progamer when passing him in the streets

Great translation. Thx

Shiv and SuperJongMan. I do agree with you on Yellow's todays' game. I even claim that yellow did pretty well and he seems to get over the short live depression for which he should be praised. However, I also do believe you misunderstood my and probably Hautamaki's posts (although Hautamaki overstated it a little), but... if we gonna argue on this neither of us will have energy to stay awake for Boxer v Oov tmrw
|
great interview/translation. i liked yellows attitude i thought he might have quit after getting bunker rushed. He will get out of dual league.he is most consistent progamer ever
|
Now I hope to see Yellow come back next year and own up, that would be awesome
|
Hmmm... Although Yellow does sound happier we have to remember that this interview is more "public" so to speak, and therefore he isn't going to come out complaining about his loss and expressing anger or bitterness since he must act the professional. We should remember that his opinions of the Boxer series was a post on his private cafe site to his fans, which is different from expressing opinions for an interview. I'm still skeptical as to whether Yellow is the same after his loss to Boxer, and really his loss to Reach and GoRush only seem to make it more likely that he'll lose in the coming Dual Tournament. If Yellow fails to qualify for the next OSL, I don't ever expect to see him again in the major leagues.

I do however think he need to do something to get over the psychological bit + I'm fairly certain he's REALLY stressed out.
So yeah. Maybe he should take a break for a month or so.

Yeah I guess I'm being too pessimistic Chojja got beaten pretty badly by Nada in Panasonic 2003 but he's still around and kicking so Yellow should be able to do the same

iz too hard for him not to quilify, look at his group

That was best quote ever. "I feel I won in 'protoss' style. I man's pride should use is zealot". ROFL!!! Reach so gosu! The reports still aren't out for the games. I don't know if they're coming out, but I was reading around site for info about this match, and the more I was reading, the more it seemed like YellOw won. I read some comments and stuff that sided w/ Reach, favoring him in the series, but i'm overall very happy that reach won. Good stuff. He is, truly, Hero Toss.

Wtf you want him to do? You ppl always complain about others. YOu think ur perfect? When you lose, what r u going to do? Simply say "Reach was so great. I am a loser"???? Even if he said it, it would not ever satisfy you. You would somehow come up w/ somthing else to disgrace him I truely Hate losers like you.

great interview thanks! yellow takes the game a bit seriously, while reach hopes for freedom and fun.

Nice job.It looks like Yellow is very optimistic

thanks BOyGiRl]ShaRp! for TL.net staff!!!

Look at yellow's dual group. Easy like hell. No wonder he is in such a good mood-really, there is no difference between him getting a seed and going down to dual tournament.
|
yellow really did a good job though he didn't win the game
|
haha I'm truly hated for saying that Yellow falls short compared to Boxer, GARIMTO, or Reach. Rofl, what a harsh condemnation I made =p
I never said that Yellow is 'girly', nor would I ever use that word to describe someone.. what am I, Arnold Schwarzeneger? But of all the people ever considered among the best of the best in the pros, like Boxer, Nal Ra, GARIMTO, Reach, HOT, Nada, Iloveoov, it seems to me that he does the most whining and gets the most upset after his losses. I just don't see Iloveoov or Boxer going and posting some tearful rant in his cafe daum no matter what happens in todays match. GARIMTO played toss when it was hard to be a toss, and he fucking raped people, and when he lost he didn't bitch about how toss sucked. I don't see how you could say he isn't charismatic either, I mean he's the one announcing now. They don't pick a block of wood for a job like that. HOT will probably always be the 'coolest' zerg player, but he's gone now. Yellow never had that aura about him. And Reach, going on about how he likes protoss because it's a man's race, and how real men win with zealots.. say what you will but that's just cool. Reach got fucking abused by Yellow is game 1 on mercury with the faggot ass lurker back attack, but do you think he was thinking about how queer lurkers are and how impossible it is for toss to face that kind of shit? Did it get him down when his zealot rush never even came close to stopping yellows expansion or hurting him? No, Reach sucked it up. What happened when Yellow got bunker rushed by Boxer 3 times in a row? Deer in the headlights time baby. He froze from the neck up, and by the time he recovered he was hiding in some pc baang in shame somewhere making posts about how zerg has no chance while Cho Jja has like 800 zvt wins in a row and Julyzerg makes a fool of Iloveoov and Gorush takes Nada to school on Luna.

As for "whining", I think Yellow is just bitter for always being good but never winning a Starleague.

Superb interview. I dreamed about PvT Boxer & Reach final.. but those games are great too! Anyway, gL 2 KTF. It's very good that they have so friendly atmosphere.
