... BUT ...
To be honest I have to admit that the Triatlon game was pure brilliance from Jaedong. No zerg 9pools in it.
Oh and the whole fifth game was the best, srsly.

Please let this be the last Jaedong vs Flash finals. I'll be rooting for Stork and Free this week.

People can like different people and for different reasons. That's like saying how can there be any Jaedong fans? In my case, I personally love both Flash and Jaedong. Each are amazing in their own way. And also, SC for me is not really about the players, it's the game itself and what the players do with that game. SC is just an all around amazing game requiring so many decisive things that it all adds up to one masterpiece.

I was going to learn to play terran, and Flash just about made me not want to. I think I'll still get around to it, just to know what it feels like. Although there's a reason that Flash is far below Jaedong and Bisu in fans in Korea(as seen by All-Stars voting).

Of course he wasn't going to just let him win the match little brother had to earn his rep.

Can you give some examples of Starcraft play you like? A few moments from last night - Novel goliath + marine build in set 1 - Surprising and flawless goliath push in set 2 - Marine vs lurker micro in set 3 - Scourge eraser micro in set 3 - Dual attacks in set 5 - Amazing micro in set 5, melting whole zerg armies without bating a lash. Zerg armies controlled by Jaedong, no less. At micro level, there are easily 2-3 pimpest plays right there. At macro level, he is relentless in his attacks. No sooner than the opponent cleans his attack force and he's back again on the offensive with even a larger force. At strategic level, no other player gives a better sentiment of being in control; there is nothing the opponents can do to scratch him.

Flash is perhaps the most interesting player in the entire scene right now. His builds and his overarching themes that he develops and expands upon in nearly every game is amazing to watch. Flash's TvZ rampage streak that he went on last year starting from his influential game vs Hero on HBR was perhaps the most exciting thing that happened in the past year.

I like both Bisu and Stork more than Jaedong though. I've heard from plenty of people that they like Flash for his ability to use terran powers the way he does, but I really don't like it as a non-terran player. Honestly, the tendency of terrans to just sit with tanks and try to turtle their way through doesn't make me respect them much. I think an S class protoss/zerg is much harder to achieve.

He plays a near perfect well rounded zerg but i just find him disinteresting Really, that's my opinion when it comes to Jaedong and Flash. They're perfect but that's what makes them uninteresting as both players and personalities. Personally, guys like Stork, Calm, and Fantasy are a lot more interesting and their series matches are, imho, a lot of enjoyable to watch even if the match quality is not as high. Jaedong is more popular than Flash because awesome micro is extremely easy to understand and Jaedong is pretty much mechanics, mechanics, mechanics. A few years ago, you'd probably see many more people liking Boxer/Nada over Oov; its harder to see Oov's genius and risky play than it is to see Nada own Dongrae with yamato cannon cloning or Boxer dropping 6 marines inside some random zergs base and killing like 10 lurkers with them. Although, to be fair, I understand that prolly 80% of Flash's fans are just Boxer/Terran obsessed noobs, and I certainly respect the 20% who manage to form unbiased opinions and actually know what they're talking about. You can pretty much switch every instance of Flash with Jaedong in this post and it'd be still true.

I kinda figured Flash would take this. Both Flash and Jaedong are so close in terms of skill that any imbalance is almost a death sentence for the other player, and some these imbalances are pretty crazy. I honestly am surprised Jaedong even took 2 games. Still, Flash played brilliantly and I was kinda disappointed in Jaedong's play (especially in game 5). His Muta micro was really, REALLY, off. Seriously, he must have been misclicking like crazy. Then, his Mutas got irradiated... and he did not split them half fast enough... Also, I agree with what others have been saying that Jaedong should play more offensively early game in order to punish Flash's fast expand builds. I don't mean anything too cheesy, just earlier pools (9, 12 pools) with more lings. Even if Flash easily holds the front with a bunker, Jaedong would still end up with speedlings on the ground and Mutas in the air giving him some mobile defense against Flash's pushes. Also, I felt Jaedong's lurkers were EXTREMELY late in all of the games he lost (I blame the 4hatch). Whenever Jaedong's Mutas were stalling I was thinking, "ok, Jaedong, your Lurkers should be coming into play right about now... Where are they?" And by the time the Lurkers got into play Jaedong had lost most of his Mutas and Flash had built up a huge force. So overall, props to Flash.
