Why did Kal move out before his third was completely up and running? Doesn't make sense since EffOrt had big ass army. Kal:s option here is to defend the third and utlitize it before moving out.
Reavers and temps at chokes rapes hydras a-moving in and Kal had 3 reavers at his third.
The longer the game goes the more ineffective mass-hydras become when Protoss upgrades kicks in and when you have some serious splash damage with many reavers and temps.
Kal was just too damn impatient.

i think flash has less chance of winning against a Z then against a P
no P is playing really good this days and flash's TvP has been absolute rape, he even passed JD in his vP elo peak

I mean I know this is your 'vindication' for overhyping Effort a couple years ago and all, but any outside observer can see that it's just Effort playing consistently mediocre while his opponents forget what they were doing there in the first place. Yeah that makes so much fucking sense, all players just play way way worse than they usually do if they face effort. Or maybe you dont know what youre talking about and dont realise all the freakin things he does so freakin well. This is just like when people said "Oh JD played well yeah, but he only won like this because Kal choked and played terrible yadda yadda" People look terrible when you play amazing Yeah, I'm sorry but I don't remember anyone saying that. And if you can't see that Kal played a lot worse in this series than he did vs Jaedong, I don't know what to tell you.
Honestly bro, I'm deeply sympathetic to your point of view. You know in your heart of hearts that EffOrt is bad, and yet most of the time a progamer plays him, they just totally forget how to play the game. That's gotta be frustrating.
I mean, which other player logs 420 average apm with insane multi-task, stellar game-sense, and huge macro, while facing opponents who inexplicably lose the ability to compete? It makes no sense, I tell ya, it makes no sense.

ugh cj fans come on. these were some solid 6hatch breaks but nobody watching this thought kal played well

Kal's pvz looks sloppy compared to other protoss such as Movie, Stork, Jangbi, and even Flying. His pvz is still pretty good mainly because Kal is a really good protoss, but it's his weakest mu. Can you imagine Kal's pvz micro/macro as good as Movie's. That's hard to imagine.

One year ago EffOrt was believed to be the next zerg overmind, and now everyone is like he is the worst zerg ever. I don't know if he can really threaten Flash, but as some already mentioned, he has shown S-Class ZvT before and with enough confidence (which he should have by now) he may be able to show it again.
Kal would have choked in the finals anyway (breaks my heart to see him lose important games all the time).
I'm very satisfied with this matchup for the finals.

TBH with you he was the one CJ player who deserved it the most

I'm appalled how badly the whole STX team seems to choke (aside from calm and july)
It's like they're the king of Semifinals and Playoffs
I know this is ironic coming from a KT fan but goddamn guys

Yes, and a year ago bisu was a monster, and now everyone is like he is the worst protoss ever.
your point?

You know Protoss are slumping HARD when Kal is considered the current best P. He was always pretty good but never dominant back when the 6 dragons were raping everyone.

fun fact: Kal is 4-23 (14%) against Zero, Effort and Jaedong combined.

Effort haters need to shut the fuck up. About imbalance, about tiebreakers, about the final, about everything. His demolishing of Kal in a bo5 was not in the least surprising to anyone not blinded by sheer hate and wishful thinking. It's as if his play through most of 2009, which shows that he has been slumping badly in the past few months but is now apparently recovering, has been forgotten. He certainly deserves to be here, and Kespa wouldn't give him a regame against Shine unless there was a legitimate hardware issue.

While I dont know about Flying I cant really disagree with this post (although Kal used to be known for his PvZ)
but that doesnt change that effort played really well. I mean game 1 and game 2 were just the most onesided rapes ever.

Those ht snipes looked pretty unstoppable, and those observer strikes seemed pretty impressive to me. Kal's counter attack almost won him a game he was going to have difficulty winning, it was hardly an objectively bad move. And EffOrt grabbed a BO win in Game 1. Kal played well, I think in the semi-finals of a starleague, people usually do, but EffOrt was better.

And, credit where due, Effort exploited it incredibly well.

Effort was only a rookie last year, so this slump is more of a mid-career bump rather than him becoming an outdated, washed-up progamer like Bisu. Bisu already had his mid-career slump in the first part of 2008. Effort still has huge potential.
I'm just hating these finals. Effort is a potential beast if he returns to form, and normally I would've rooted for him, but he cheated his way into the Ro8 with that "ppp" when he was losing, so I'm hoping Flash curbstomps him. FOR GREAT JUSTICE

A player's mouse is his responsibility. And pausing the game only when you've lost the muta battle to try and get a regame is pretty low.
