Kal''s build is all in, and it relies on the zerg making too much defence vs Dts/sairs/reavers by guessing wrong, then zerg gets steamrolled by extremely quick speedlots.

He won't kill Kal that easily if he did not go down ramp though, it was Kal's mess up and Effort followed up well. If Kal did not go down ramp and kept the zeals up ramp those speedlings wouldn't be too effective.

I think he opted to spend gas first on the legs then on the plus one. Also, he didn't have any probes on gas for long periods of the early game.

no kidding, Effort could have just massed the lings and used them as defense or ran them by when Kal pushed out with his zealot force meanwhile still teching to muta. It wasn't all in by any means.

effort with 4 lings, kal gets a gateway and a cannon, and positions 3 probes at the choke.
effort's lings back off.
6 lings now, and they try to attack, 3 make it past the cannon, and are held of by probes. kal lost 4 probes or so. last ling still running around.
