wow, what's with all the freaking negativity?
Pure isn't the best by a long shot, but he DID get to the Semis, which means he was doing pretty well until now. The games he played vs Flash were, if you actually watched the games, pretty good most of the time (with some fail here and there).
Game 1 - Pure stops 12nex bunker rush with shield battery and quick thinking. Sure it might not have been the most all-in of bunker rushes, but with 4-5 SCVs and a few marines, Pure did pretty well fending it off. Fast forward, Pure could have won a crucial battle in the midgame, except Flash like a BOSS used his vultures not to attack the troops but to follow the shuttle around and target all the HT, only 1 storm got off. The commentators were singing praises after that one. Then Flash wins.
Game 2 - Pure goes uncontested 14nex, stops Flash's near-all-in timing push (commentators were yelling how if Pure stopped it, it was almost gg), and at one point, was 5/6base vs 3base. However, Flash, scraping together just enough units, somehow busted his way through with unreal timing (just as carrier transition was occuring), igniting screams of "WTF" and "HOW" all over boes' channel.
Game 3... well. Rolled.
Anyway, my point is, the games were very very entertaining, to say that they were "horrible" simply shows your ignorance. There weren't stupid mistakes being made (clam vs great anyone), rather that Pure was doing pretty well but Flash was way too good for him.

Flash's starport cancel in game two was one of the ballsiest things I've seen from him and it really looked like Pure would hold it off. That plus the almost perfectly timed pushed in game one are the sorts of things I think only Flash could pull off.

MVP did that one fac double expand strat first against Stork and Best iirc. But yea unless toss scouts that 3rd base quick and does a 2 base timing attack or something, they seem to get owned economy-wise.

I'm going to ride with the people that enjoyed the games.
Each game Flash showed so much "starsense" (exploiting Pure's lack of aggression for the most part) backed up with his excellent skills/micro/macro. I'm not a terran user (in fact I play protoss - yay dragoon icon) but the games were fun to watch. Someone mentioned that it was good to see the deserving player (the better player overall) win the games, and I agree.
For the records, one of my favourite carriers > Flash moment is Flash vs Stork, 2009, on HBR (or was it New HBR...), that game, Stork pulled off an amazing game - defending Flash's choke on nat, buying time for carriers (and NOT losing a ton of ground troops), then making a successful transition and so on.

All these games that Flash just freaking dominates makes me wonder how he would play on a less macro-friendly map pool. Always seems like in TvP, once Flash gets a 3rd it's just over.

TBH, I think think he would dominate even more. The few games (with exception to the one vs M18M) that Flash does lose or comes close to losing are those that Protoss does manage to outmacro him, think Movie during the OSL finals. Flash is superbly good at all strategies in TvP.

While I might not agree on your description of each game(  ) I agree that the games weren't really crappy.
It seemed to me like Pure focused on getting up a good economy in each game but failed to produce enough units to stop flash when he decided to attack.
While building up, he seemed to be playing good and therefor the exitement rose abit.
It seemed like Flash would be in trouble each game but he didn't in the end due to him being able to master a greater army while making an economy and also outmicroed pure.
The games weren't really bad, but they weren't really exciting either after flash decided to make an attack. Except I found the last game to be the most exciting when Pure made his big attack and it looked really close for a while...
