I just want to complain about idra's lack of professionalism. Quitting game 3 without even trying some kind of all in after that CC mistake was very childish, you can do that in practice game but not in a tournament like that. I don't see any progamer quitting like that, they are always trying their best, even in desperate situation. If idra can't control his nerve he'll never be a champion.

And yes I'm angry because I lost 50$ on this series.

Childish? He had no chance to defend against a simple 2 gate goon attack from Nony. And I havent seen any progamer cancel a cc yet so thats why they dont quit. :p

Well Midas just left the game entirely accidentally once, that was quite fun to watch ^^

Concerning the idra vs nony series the player that went for the win and took risks won the game. Idra won game 1 by taking it to nony and it was impressive and nony stood his ground and faught back and hard he deserves the win. If idra did a normal siege expand he would won no matter what magical cards can pull out Idra played into nonys hand basically which it was too late once all is said and done. JF vs White-ra yes I also felt White-ra didnt play well on destination but regardless JF should more creativity in his play and aswell faught from being 2-0 in game 3 he was really impressive and was able to hold White-ra's attack to win game 5.

Absolutely crazy games. I don't think anyone really expected today's games. Maybe expected the outcomes but not how the games went. I'm really starting to think it was all rigged. I mean how can JF come back in ANOTHER spectacular 3-0 reaver-dominance (just like he did vs. Draco in the last TSL), and then IDRA CANCELS HIS COMMAND CENTER ROFL. But nah I trust the TSL guys too much

On the next match ups, I do think Nony will beat JF 3-0 or 3-1 because watching his streams his PvP is beastly (kills A/A- Iccup Koreans consistently), but man after these matches I don't know. JF is such surprising player, though to be honest I was totally impressed by Nony's play. He made a single decision error the entire series and is just consistently on top of his game: micro-wise, macro-wise, build-order-wise. Simply top-notch, and I don't think JF can match it. Hell, JF might even lose on reaver micro vs. Nony if he doesn't practice hardcore the next week.

Sen vs. Mondragon, I think Mondragon will come out on top, though if Sen is able to out-micro Mondragon early game we might see another zergling all-in toss-up. Either way, we'll be seeing PvZ in the finals and I think if Nony gets in I'm going to give the TSL to him. If Nony doesn't get in but Mondi does, then probably Mondi.

Idra did a siege expand on Outsider, and was broken. Although I agree it was unwise (in retrospect) to go rax FE instead of siege FE.
My strategy is to fork people.

Oh hey - we never saw anything templar or above in the tech tree in Idra vs Nony. Nor did we see vessels or goliaths. We never even saw a weapon (damage) upgrade

We saw DTs. Still, this series was an incredible disappointment, no recommended games IMO.

The series as a whole was great watching live.

Knowing the results makes it less exciting, but that game 5 when Nony goes all in and he just pushes Idra in (and idra mismicros the vults and loses them, sealing the game for Nony)

What's all this talk about, 'Who's better overall? WHO SHOULD WIN?'

It's stupid.

Who would watch sports if everything was set in stone?

There will always be favorites and underdogs, but whenever someone says 'better overall' I smirk to myself. Better overall means absolute shit in the sports world. Where would the excitement be if it weren't competitive.

As for your example.

Sure, Flash was playing better going into that final, but JD did his homework and won. Does this mean Flash is the better player overall? Fuck no. I would call Flash the favourite. He's playing some of the best Starcraft of his life and still lost. He's mortal like everyone else.

JD and Flash are both beasts. Comparing the two is an insult to their accomplishments.

Preparation, handling pressure and adapting your strategy is everything.

IdrA has been training in Korea for a few years. On paper, he should have better preparation. He's the favorite; he should win. Fine, no arguing there.

NonY was in eSTRO for 3 months. He knows what it takes and he could re-join them at any time

Today NonY was the better player.

There is no point living in the land of what if's as I doubt you would be preaching the same story in alternate realities. It's time to move on.

I've read statements to this effect a lot today, but let's be honest about the situation. Today Nony won. Today, idra canceled a CC.

As for all the cancelling/game leaving incidents, to me the clear favorite is that pimpest plays 2 proxy gate rush where the zealot gets trapped. Not sure, was it Kingdom? Don't know the year either.

Everyone(foreigners) who plays Idra knows that they are slightly worse, so they take a lot of gambles/abusive risks to try to get ahead. Idra usually is able to deflect them and win but when every foreigner you play does an abusive or "strategic" build of course you are going to lose a few games here and there. Then people say LOL Idra keeps losing to Foreigners even though he practices in Korea... No shit, but he also wins a lot more than he loses.

Because Idra lost game 2 on a misclick, he basically had to win 3 out of 4 games against an extremely strong Toss player, who did very abusive PvT builds in every game. He lost, props to Nony. Nony played intelligently and played to win like he should have.

I don't really understand the people saying Idra is bad?

Hmm... I think you have missed the fact that Nony reacted to what Idra did in game 3,4 & 5. And yeah, it's real unfortunate that Idra canceled the CC in game 2 cause now Idra fanboys tries to take away Nonys win with "If it wasn't for that miss-click..." even though Nony won in game 5 countering that exact greedy Barracks>CC opening.

If Idra was so sure out-macroing Nony, then why did he try to cut corners?

I'm really sick of posts in this forum trying to take away the wins from Players, that is in my mind BM... Even if you guys think "he would have won that if wasn't for X or Y" "He's a better overall player" etc... You don't know that! Keep thoughts like that if you can't prove them.
