Idra beat Nony easily straight-up in the seed match, he can go siege expand and still be comfortable, provided he defends against dt's or other super cheesy things. Yet he prepares this super risky greedy build (and TWICE!) when I don't even think he needed that advantage. Why why why use this build for TWO games when the biggest risk for Idra was Nony cheesing, not Nony outmacroing him and such?
The truth can be hard to see sometimes because it's so dark.

A better question is when will IdrA stop dodging cheese play and learn to play against it?

No. Learn to read or try harder. Liars should be banned for sure. Show nested quote +...because at some point even stupid people realize they are wrong and should shut their mouths.
Learn to bm. Show nested quote + In your previous post, you clearly said that the four players remaining sucked. Not that they were worse than Ret and Idra, who were the two clear favorites.
No. I said finals is going to be disappointed because all the really skilled players are gone. Ret and Idra are really skilled, excluding Rets ZvZ. Mondragon and Nony are 'just' skilled. You disgrace this tournament and all the players in it with your dishonestly. Ban this guy please. Dude, you don't know what your talking about. Your post demonstrated blatant ignorance. You either rageposted or are ignorant. edit: Are you serious? Nony and Mondragon are just skilled, and you we're talking about "really" skilled players? It sounded far more like you were saying the only people with real skill are gone. Seriously stfu.

First note: Nony at least claimed he would have played a macro game 5. Idra was the one who cheesed in that game and caused it to end suddenly. Going all-in when you haven't scouted the opponent is cheese. Going all-in when you've scouted him doing something that you know you can kill is completely standard and expected.
Second note: as someone else said above, if Idra thought he was far superior in a long macro game, he wouldn't have gone CC before gas in 40% of the games this series. Presumably Idra, like basically everyone else, thought he was at least somewhat stronger than Nony in a long game, but evidently not by very much (or else he'd have played safe and been willing to take a small early-game deficit just to make it to the late game).
So to people acting like Nony somehow cheated us out of longer games: Nony went for cheesy stuff in games 1, 3, 4, while Idra did in games 1, 2, 5. This was a very close and exciting series, and both players tried some mindgames, but Nony came out on top. GGs!

Idra usually is able to deflect them and win but when every foreigner you play does an abusive or "strategic" build of course you are going to lose a few games here and there. Then people say LOL Idra keeps losing to Foreigners even though he practices in Korea... No shit, but he also wins a lot more than he loses.
Because Idra lost game 2 on a misclick, he basically had to win 3 out of 4 games against an extremely strong Toss player, who did very abusive PvT builds in every game. He lost, props to Nony. Nony played intelligently and played to win like he should have.
I don't really understand the people saying Idra is bad? This post pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter. I gotta say though I can't understand why people are so obnoxiously hateful towards Idra. The past couple of days I've seen posts directed against Idra that makes his jokingly bad manners seem like nothing. Idra is just a guy trying to achieve his dream in a game all of us essentially love. He also happens to be a brilliant player and the only representative for foreigners in korea, yet you hardly ever see anyone supporting him. Just the fact that he's done many interviews on scforall should tell you that he very much gives a fuck about this community that has decided to despise him, but threads like these really makes me wonder why.
Clearly you don't get it. He's BM. And if he's BM; it makes him the anti-christ, clearly. It is everybody's duty to let their emotions completely overwhelm their basic sense of humor on these issues and then make pages and pages of rants directed at him and anybody who defends him.

Glaucus blatantly says no good players left in TSL.
Lol, he thinks he has a definition of "good".

Sweet ban hammer of justice.
I can't find my WCG replay of Idra's super short game.. was that a misclick too? Could be a hype thing, maybe Idra is anti-clutch.

NonY prepared beautifully. IdrA knows NonY is comfortable in macro games and that's what he prepared for, NonY countered that thought and did the exact opposite of what IdrA expected. Reminds me a bit of Flash vs Stork in Bacchus 2008 where Stork prepared for the Flash style build and Flash just did an all-in every game and raped Stork.
IdrA completely outclasses NonY in mechanics/multitask/macro/micro but he just wasn't prepared.
I'm not shitting on NonY or his accomplishments. It's a beautiful thing to see this level of preparation and I really like that kind of stuff. obviously you dont really like that kind of stuff. You fail to realize that preparation is an essential factor for competetive SC 1on1 gaming. And therefore it is an essential factor for determining the overall quality of a player. And who the fuck thinks a game automatically determines who is "better" anyway? Do you really think someone went thinking "Idra > Nony" to "Nony > Idra" to "Idra >Nony" to finally "Nony > Idra" in his mind when comparing the skill of these two players??
Its pretty ridiculous to come out and belittle a players skill by saying "yeah he outprepared him and won, but the other guy is still overall better player". Your hugely underestimating the importance of strategy in SC. On a side note, I personally think its idiotic to claim somebody is overall a better player when he trained 12-16 hours a day for 1.5 years and loses to someone coming out of a year-long retirement. In the big picture Nony is the more talented and therefore better player imo, but that is besides the point. Even judging their current skill and saying "he outprepared Idra but Idra is overall better" shows that you have little experience with competetive SC at a high level.

Umm, when you play against strategic play or abusive builds nearly every game against foreigners, you are going to lose some. Idra wins most of the games he plays, but he is going to lose a few every now and then. Even the best players in Starcraft lose a fair amount of their games A great starcraft player can win 65% of their games.
Also to people wondering why he went 1 rax cc on FS. Often Toss users go 12 nexus on FS, so the 1rax cc kind of negates some of the advantage of a 12 nexus because of the quicker CC.

Oh hey - we never saw anything templar or above in the tech tree in Idra vs Nony. Nor did we see vessels or goliaths. We never even saw a weapon (damage) upgrade

Nony just single handedly (I don't mean mouse only) made TSL WAY more interesting. He is probably the only player that could have knocked out idra on his way to the finals. Now we have nothing but awesome and fairly equal players left contending which imo saved us from a potentially rapefilled final.
I wish ret was here but then we would still have a clear favorite, now there really can't be a favorite .... and I like that!
