Players can easily force a late game ZvZ by skillfully adding up their spore colony count in their base. The only problem with this is that it becomes difficult to move out once your opponent has map control w/ mutas. Still, at times when everything is just right, players will transition to higher tech and begin to expand, at which point you see everyunit in play except the Infested Terran for obvious reasons, unless there is a neutral CC on the map, then I'm sure someone would utilize that structure as well.

And why his spire was in his nat exposed at the front? I try to avoid watching zvzs but there are times when I can't avoid it and on those occasions I've never seen a spire placed in that position before. That was simply a fuck up and bad play from JD. He put the spire/evo there to create a wall with a sunk in behind. You dont send all your lings to defend vs 2 lings, he should've just sent 2-3. Thanks.

The only other TvZ I remember watching him play semi-recently, he just went fast tech and died. I don't even think he got a vessel Not cool.

I think the reason is that if they scout that you've teched, then they have suddenly have map control and they can expo then just tech themselves.

I also don't get why some Zergs tend to upgrade their natural to Lair/Hive, although that does a least make some sense. It had nothing to do with arrogance it was to block lings runby in main and for simcity , but Jaedong fucked up and followed with his lings the 2 lings that Zero snicked in to Jaedons main and that gave zero the chance to snipe the spire . True, but isn't blocking lings with a the key building kind of.... ironic? I'm really just trying to get a better understanding of this. It just doesn't seem worth it. Heck, I'd rather place a second evo chamber than endangering my spire like this...

You just said it yourself, the only way to comeback from the map control loss if you build spores is if the other zerg suicides everything at the spores. There is no reason to build spores unless you are way behind in tech. There is no reason to go lategame ZvZ because there is a large gap of timing till the greater spire finishes where the other zerg will be way ahead and will have full map control due to cutting mutas, Queen nest 150/100?Hive 200/150 and Greater spire I forgot the cost, but its a lot of money and there is a huge timing gap, so unless both Zergs are unwilling to engage its just not going to work.
