On a more positive note, Flash with another new Elo peak, 2392, yay! Needs two more wins to break 70% winrate now. Shine vs Movie is 50/50 imo. I think Movie's PvZ is better than Shine's ZvP. The only problem is the maps, if the maps were more balanced I would favor Movie. I mean wtf is Movie suppose to do to win on El Nino? Well, Shine is 1-1 ZvP on that map, it's not it's an auto-win, anyway.

Well Calm is certainly going to be a part of my FPL next round thats for sure .

Give Shine/Movie their due. I keep getting the feeling that he'll just revert back to the Clam that played against Fantasy and Light. This series has kind of confirmed my suspicions that he's like Fantasy - a player that requires a lot of prep time to put out amazingly good all round results. Flash probably practices more than anyone. All great players prepare for hours. What a stupid thing to say. He's referring to Clam....

Flash was born to play this game. He was born to play SC and it feels so so good to finally see him back. It's been a long 22 months.
Absolutely 100% agree. I missed Daum but I watched Bacchus and saw the raw potential, then experienced a year of hurt.

Yeah Bisu beat Shine on that map, I have to see that game. I think Movie has to come up with some anti mutalisk defense.

I know Flash was favored and choked in a hilarious fashion in set 3, but losing to GGplay is no crime (See Daum OSL semifinals), but that must have really sucked as a fan... But it was great for me as a GGplay fan! No worries. Flash is in great shape to take this OSL. As long as he doesn't sleep on Shine like everyone else has. Or as long as... No, I give Movie no chance. It's not a crime. It was just an UNBELIEVABLE choke. Right there and then, even though I didn't want to admit it, I knew Flash was no longer a champion. A champion would never have lost like that. It only took the next 2 leagues to confirm what I already knew. It just goes back to my original theory: as long as Flash isn't forced to go Mech, he should outlast his zerg opponent in a BoX (his mech was never great. See: ggplay/flash set one Incruit). Probably one of the many reasons he's rolling over zergs lately, because he's so much freer (free-er is spelled like freer? Neat!) with bio builds. That and he has to avoid Kwanro I kid, I kid.

In all my years as a fan this is honestly the most fulfilling moment I've ever experienced.
The only thing that even comes close is when Savior beat Bisu on Neo Harmony and I really really believed that he could be back. I even wrote a long thread after he lost to Zero about how he would never return (and sadly I'm almost certainly right).
It's easy to root for a player when he is crushing everyone.
But to know that someone is good and see crushing defeat after defeat....
I know Flash hasn't won yet but to even return to his rightful place in the finals ... he somehow has not made it to the BO5 stage of either MSL or OSL for 3 seasons.
This is the most fulfilling moment you can experience as a fan....
Until the finals of course.

You clearly don't understand what I mean. Anyone can see that the Calm here was not the Calm that plays in proleague or the MSL.
Calm obviously practiced to target Flash's weaknesses (that is his poor ability to deal with aggressive mutalisk builds) and basically timed it at such a time that Flash would have trouble throwing up turrets in time. When he hasn't got tons of time to watch the last 20 or so VODs of a player doing the same thing every game, his ZvT is overall nothing to write home about. His games against Fantasy were pretty silly, despite Fantasy forcing him to multitask to the limits, and his game against Light's marine only force in the MSL was just bad to watch.
Fantasy pushed Stork, the best PvTer, to the limits in the finals. No doubt this is because he can spend weeks perfecting his reaver/shuttle defense with Intotherain or other things Stork tends to do. But outside of these situations when he has to play proleague two times a week and thus can't prepare extremely detailed timings and builds? He's simply another A teamer.
My point is that Calm has shown us that he's really an amazing player with the ability to abuse his opponents flaws very well. The question is whether or not he can show us in proleague roughly the same quality gameplay or will he simply prove to be nothing else but a solid A teamer and not the beast that pushed Flash to the limits.
Note that I am not saying this out of disrespect. I never knew Calm could play this good and thus I hope he keeps playing like this. However I don't really think he can do it without tons of time to specifically target a single player.

Aw c'mon, I wouldn't say THAT.
Hahaha, I almost forgot about that map. Didn't we have like.... pure ZvZs in PL on that map?
And also that stupid 2v2 map, where every terran would SCV rush. Oh the good old days.

I gained a mountain of respect for Calm in this series.
No longer will I think of him as just a smart player who is not as good as Effort or Zero. No. Until Effort or Zero prove otherwise, Calm is the second best Zerg player in my book.
But, people are bringing up a legitimate point. It says something about a player when they require undivided attention for a week to prepare for a series. This is not an insult to a player. Fantasy has demonstrated that this is a perfectly reasonable way to play (and is extremely unlucky that he lost two OSLs to two of the best ever). Hell, Calm is the "more accomplished" player - he won a league!
On the other hand, there's a difference between a player like Calm and a player like JD/Flash. The difference is the need for preparation. Flash is not immune to this - he dropped out of 4 straight seasons of leagues. But there is no question he can win without preparation. Proleague alone tells us that.
Calm isn't quite the same - it's ok. He's a great player.
