This replay is more like D-/D more than anything else, but... Plus this thread deserves a bump.
1. http://massmirror.com/46774d507a223c2a876a46721f1e73ee.html (Completely off topic, but how do you make the link show up nice and pretty with the later alternative d/l links like in this (http://teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=59596) thread) 2. PvZ (I'm P) 3. D/D-. I'm posting anything I've got. 4. This replay was fraught with indecisiveness. I decide to fe, but as soon as I lay down my forge (It was late, I know, if he was playing 12 hatch I woulda fe'd right away) I scout 9 pool so I canceled out of my forge so I could throw down two gates. I threw down the gateway a few different times; I was worried the gateway would get in the way of my nexus. Anyways, I haphazardly teched around until mutas came in and ownt me. 5. At what point is it too late to switch BO's? I usually try to BO switch rather than adapt my build, which was problematic in this game. What point to you get forge in PvZ.? Mine was late, hence why I got owned by mutas. Perhaps I left prematurely, but I felt that I really had lost it and I felt I would be unable to come back. mass mirrormass mirrorthisthisthis

1. http://download.yousendit.com/D76D957201AB708B 2. ZvT (Me Z) 3. D+, maybe C- 4. Being forced to engage before defiler and failing, how do you come back from that? He chose not to end the game for some unknown reason but I was thoroughly behind enough that he managed to take the game 5. How long should you stay lurkerling defiler? I usually transition into ultras quite early because my defiler play is pretty bad and the minerals stack up while im controlling that stuff. I generally feel I can never do much damage with lurkling defiler, most of my games drag out to ultra even if I'm better than the person I'm playing. Also, after killing a ball how can you tell whether it's better to sit on your advantage or try and go in for the kill, considering how difficult it is to scout them?

2. ZvP
3. I'm roughly D+ perhaps C- in this particular match up. My opponent whom is also a TL.net member appears to by above this level in my opinion.
4. As the game progressed I simply found that I could not keep up in APM... Particularly my multitasking abilities... I also had a lot of trouble taking a 3rd base... The map was Nemesis. My basic strategy may need a bit of work. I do however feel that I could have won this game if my multitasking or apm was just slightly better and I had been able to get a 3rd.... Also my APM is usually substantially higher than the 83 represented within the replay, i was so scattered and unorganized this game that it really took a toll on my APM. Obviously though it was good play by my opponent that made me so scattered and unorganized.
5. Based on the replay any insight on how to keep your focus organized? I felt overextended the whole game.

1. http://rapidshare.com/files/107168162/2204_TSLNoobZ_heteroheroP.rep.html 2. ZvP 3. C-. Opponent wasn't great either I think. 4. Standard ZvP for me. I think everything is going pretty well and the game should be more or less even, then the toss jumps ahead in supply/upgrades and my army is reduced to nothing while his stuff refuses to die. I think I'm just too slow with taking expos and teching. I was behind in minerals at the end and my spire was late so I couldn't snipe his obs when he broke my contain.

Bump. We recorded one Artosis replay last night, I think it went really well. And then my power supply died.
Anyways, I already have the Terran replays picked out to go over, but if you have any Terran questions, or questions for Artosis in general, please post them to make my life easier.
Thanks!

Artosis:
Why did you show the 1 rep you beat me? Was it so the public knows it can happen or?
Thanks,
Your pal, Geoff

After my exam tomorrow I'm going to pick out at least one replay to post. Until then I have a question. In ZvT, I usually do a speedling into 3 hatch muta build and I don't know how to stop a fast MnM drop. This has happened to me two games so far where I just get the spire up by the time the dropship gets to my main. How do you scout it and what should you do?
|
Holy shit, I forgot about this rofl.
And I got a question for artosis about terran. What do you do in tvt if the terran goes 14 cc? Should I go 2 fac push or what?
|
Could you give Specific tips on pushing? Im very sure that the D/C terrans know the basics of a push, but are really really bad at it, or they sacrifice to much to get the perfect push (like inefficient macro for starters). So first off, is pushing through the middle a better choice than pushing around an open middle? 3vs9 TvP python comes to mind, as pushing cross-map leaves you to be easily pincered from 3 sides if you arent efficient. Even so, it is very difficult to get any where close to them. How would you suggest pushing across the middle if you have to, and what are better alternatives? Also, what advantages does pushing across the middle have compared to pushing close to the sides of the map? Does this require a vult heavy army build up? Second, Scouting where you push should go is the top things that Low lv. terrans dont do and they get raped doing so. Their tanks seige up right as zlots hit them, and the whole thing turns to chaos. This is very very typical in timed pushes or fast push outs to your third. We all know that you scout with scans, scvs, mines and the such, but even if you know its coming, sometimes you cant stop it anyways. So my real question here is how do you adapt to what you scout? If hes got some arc ready for a huge flank, what can be done to it so that you dont have to go retreat or be passive or anything? Also, when executing a timing push, what is the easiest way to scout besides prelaying mines? Like how should your scouting pattern be? Like how do you scout when using a timing push? What do you use for a scouting? A mini question is that do all pushes have to be timing pushes in order for them to work? The simplest one that comes to mind is pushing when they are expoing. Do you push right when nex finishes or before or after? And then my final question is that what kind of timing is used in all three Tv matchups? Like timing pushes and how do they fit in in TvP, TvT, and TvZ and the such. How do the timings differ between the three Terran matchups? What are similar? What skills and techniques can be applied?
My goal is to make my micro 100% more effcient so i have more time to go back and macro (more like a comfort zone so i dont forget to macro). Right now, my main problem is multitasking, and in order to make my macro better, i must micro more efficiently. Right now, I have trouble going through the process and i have to think myself through "Siege tanks, Mine, Turret" or "1a2a3a4a5a6a 1t23t4t5t6t1a2a3a4a5a6a, seige tanks, irriadiate" or even a simple "hold pos."
If i can get my micro to be more fluent and effective, i will be able to remember to macro. Of course other factors will be in, but overall, do you have any tips on how to micro more efficiently? Like, what is the difference of micro between a C gamer and an A gamer?

1. http://rapidshare.com/files/109688939/0021_DurakZ_EuronyMOusT.rep.html 2. ZvT. Speedlings into 3 hatch against slow MnM. 3. Roughly D+. I think I'm between D and D+ on ICCup and my opponent is D+. 4. It went downhill when I didn't get a third gas early enough and then my mineral count got very high. I think I should have had one or two more hatcheries and less idle larvae. This wasn't a well played game but it's the best (standard builds and not terribly played) I've got on hand. 5. I'm not a fantastic player by any means but I'm not sure what to do with high mineral/gas ratio for zerg. More gas expansions faster and more zerglings? I think a fast third gas is necessary but I wasn't very intelligent.
Take it or leave it, just tossing it out there. It's probably more useful for me to see others replays analyzed since this is fairly low skill level.

1. http://www.battlereports.com/viewreplays.php?replaynum=33078 2. TvP. Standard double expand timing push vs reavers into double expand carriers 3. Somewhere between D and D+, I felt like I was playing well so probably D+. 4. I felt like I was doing a good job fighting it out with him, winning battles and taking out expansions when he suddenly bursts out with a ridiculous carrier fleet. I tried many different things, but was unable to cope with the fire power and the fleet sniped all my expos. The last 10 minutes is just me running over the map scrapping till the end. 5. In general, what is the best way to deal with a carrier fleet like that? What signs of a switch if you keep missing with scans? How do you transition into goliaths and/or wraiths if you have a high supply count already, suicide some units? Is it better to mix goliaths and wraiths or stick with one? When is it good to target interceptors vs the carriers?

im glad this is continuing, it's a great idea.

Ok, Artosis is done. Ret (ZvT, ZvP, TvZ) is coming up soon, so if you have any questions for Ret, do it up.
|
are all the vods coming out at the same time (like one big vod)?
|
For Ret:
In TvZ if the zerg goes 2base fast defilers, is it viable to 2fact vultures with no tanks at all + m and m's and vessels? I have trouble fighting this build if the zerg has good micro and defiler use.
