It seems southpark had a really hard time dealing with this build because he assumed a mech army and went hydra instead of lurker. The terran's used his ability to switch between mech and rax units to maintain solid aggression.
I have never seen this type of build from the terran before, can anyone point to a korean proleague game where this type of thing gets used? or was it a fluke that succeeded simply because southpark wasnt able to get lurker in time?
It's been used tons of times in various forms and incarnations.
It originated from Oov to counter the fact that zergs would hydra -> muta off 2hat and 3hat to counter the mech builds of the time.
Here's a random example vod where go.go fends off mutas with 2 or 3 fac gol before switching to bio.
Another vod where Terran constantly switches between bio and mech during early to mid game:
I was aware of the oov fake mech build but Karate's variation was unlike anything i'd ever seen. he cancelled his third rax at about 80% completion (?). I tried to observe his vision range to see what might have triggered this decision but all in all was unable to figure out why he made the switch so suddenly.
anyway, thanks for the vods! ill peruse liquipedia for further info.
i have problems in pvp. 1. what is the best answer to 2 gate / 3 gate pure zealot attacks? 2. what is your favourite counter to FE? 3. i am afraid of dts every time, am i really safe with 2gate -> robo -> obs?
1. generally speaking more zealots+zealot micro or goon micro. on some smaller maps like python 2gate is really hard to hold off with 1gate tech 2. reavers 3. yes, you'll have to clog your ramp with goons for a bit if they're doing 1 gate dt, but you should be able to scout that by applying some pressure
What he said is right, I only want to add that you shouldn't be afraid to cancel the cyber core if you see early zealot pressure. It's a judgement call, and depends on things like how many gates he has, how early you scouted them, and how far away he. But it is a good option in a lot of those kind of games.
Hi guys I am not very good in zvz becuase of the lack of practice So I decide to try the hive tech build vs zerg that u see once a season however its very hard to pull it off But still less micro intense than normal zvz for me (which is what I am looking for !) So anyone know the build order that was use in the ZvZ finals ? I remember he went for mass lings and quickly transition into hive but it would be awesome if anyone know the exact build order He used the build TWICE in the finals, so I can tell he really practice it !! Thanks...
12 hatch in main, 11 pool, 10 gas, 3 drones, only get 100 gas for ling speed, 3rd hatch in natural, 1 drone back on gas. then u can mass lings and transition into a spore defence vs mutas or bust him before that with mass lings. rest depends on what u want to do and what the enemy is doing
Also it seems I have an issue with giving commands to my units. I've noticed that if i'm right clicking vigorously and switching between control groups, most often it will not switch control groups and thus my units don't receive the right click command. Does anyone else have this problem? To clarify, you're right clicking continuously with control group 1, you keep on right clicking whilest pressing '2'. Now I don't get my second control group selected.
If I play more effeciently with less right click spamming, it goes really smooth. It just seems that it can't register a right click command and a control group command at the same time. Anyone have this? Any way to fix it?

There probably aren't many, because TvP is almost entirely mech play for Terran. You might see some valkyrie play or even wraiths somewhere, but I haven't ever seen any.

Boxer once played a game where he used ghosts and lockdown. I also have seen progamers use cloacked wraiths + observer sniping.

It was boxer vs nalra on monty hall iirc It's around 22mins Goliaths are involved though.
i'm trying to make a map similar to AI bgh, does anyone know the trigger to make a player who lifts CC into an obs after a certain amount of time has passed?
Create a location which covers the entire map, then select it and press Enter (or double click it, or right click it and click Properties). Make sure only the boxes for low, medium, and high air are checked; uncheck the rest, and name it Air. Now, make a trigger for each player with the condition 'Current player Brings Exactly 1 Terran Command Center to Air', and the action 'Remove All Units for Current Player', and 'Run AI Script Turn Shared Vision ON for Players 1-8' (that's 8 triggers). If you want it to happen after a certain amount of time, add a condition "If Elapsed time is Exactly 1 minute" as well.
The victory conditions of the map usually have a defeat trigger for players with no buildings. If you want to change this you can either add in a switch for each player depending on if they're an observer, or just kill the SCVs and set resources to 0, and leave the CC alive. I find the switch method better because there's no random buildings floating around.
