the best AI are like mid D-... but the lower ones are E. no point in playing them UNLESS you are TERRIBLE at SC. | ||

It has decent TVP imo, going mech and sensible Build orders vs Protoss its a cheating AI but should be managable edit: It's quite good for practising marco/micro like goons vs tanks micro, unfortunately the bot cannot use miens too well | ||

There are many difference between each AI and each one usually has one or more random build orders that it can execute. Due to micro management issues with the internal SCAI, or lack thereof, it's super hard to write an AI that uses a traditional mech army. The internal engine just has no idea how to push with mines or what map control might be. Really, you can just A-move most Protoss armies through it, no sweat. M+M is used because, even though it dies to Protoss AOE, it's worlds better than the mech units when controlled by the AI. TvP isn't really a strong point in BWAI. Racine, both non-cheating and cheating, have mech builds, as does my non-cheating AI, Ahhz and maybe one or two others that I just don't remember right now. Raynor features bajadulce's TvX scripts which were more focused on competing in the BWAI War, and his PvT/PvP scripts which are actually pretty good. A few people have mentioned that his scripts are good for practicing your early rush-defense timings... Adun's Fury is bajadulce's cheating AI, which is pretty scary to play against; it will outmacro you if you don't take it out early. It uses non-standard build orders. Yeah. It's pointless to play with the cheat codes, too, but that's the option up to the player. If you don't outright abuse the AI and use it to practice your build order, then it will be a worthwhile tool. If not, you're the only one wasting your own time. You're more than welcome to try dancing your probes around against ZAPOC, though. This is directly targeted to FlashFtw I AM NOT IN ANY WAY A BW NOOB. I DID NOT JUST START PLAYING BW, HELL I HAVE BEEN PLAYING SERIOUSLY FOR 2+ FREAKING YEARS. I am NOT practicing AI because I am new to BW. Here's a wall of text to tell you why: I am pretty GOOD at BW. I admit that many TL veterans can beat me, but I assure you I am confident enough in my skills to pose a challenge to anyone [except maybe top tier ladder players]. I have been playing my friend's account on iccup to get to C- level with a solid winning rate, with most of the losses coming from in-game mistakes on my part, and not due to unpreparedness or lack of skill. That might not be much, but that's a WAYYYY bigger challenge than steamrolling scrubs on SC2. Why should I abuse the AI when I can obliterate it with JUST my macro mechanics? What you don't realize is that not everybody on TL has instant access to iccup. I am playing behind a university firewall, so iccup, bnet and garena are NOT readily available for me to practice. /endrant Anyway, Thank you xxpack09, mykyoyo for answering intelligently. I want to test out the AI on all sorts of BOs. From the standard 12nex, 14nex, 2gate, 1gatecore, 2gaterobo etc. to the downright insane BOs. I am doing these partly out of boredom, and out of curiosity in the deeper aspect of the overall gameplay. I want to check and compare the possibilities of these BOs when applied to a player situation. The AI is not by any means close to the decision making of a real person, but I believe I can gauge possible player responses based on the AI's responses. I tried out your suggestions, and you guys seem to be correct. Although I still notice some extremely unorthodox build orders from them, I'll be okay. Thank you! PS: I play Entropy[non-cheating], and Racine's [cheating]. I don't play the AI with the INSANE amount of minerals though, can't handle it rofl. | ||

He was not attacking me directly, yes I agree. BUT: Why should he go around telling people that playing AI was useless and that only those who are terrible at SC play AI? I think that that's a terrible thing to say especially to other players. Does he have the right to butt in to what players want to do? No. Oh, and I'm not new to BW. Please re-read what I typed. | ||
