you can take small groups of goons up to like 8 max, other than that just scan and if it's an open ramp run up, if even only 6 vults survive you can kill every probe, if he has cannons then just mine the hell, hide in the side, when the dragoons move up the ramp to attack your vults get another group of vults, mine those dragoons in the way out and then attack some tactical position. he's going to lose goons, and at best you can nab some probes if you hit another location

You haven't really got the gas for it.. You can't attack in time, you'll be too passive. Then when you've spent mass gas on tanks, carriers become too effective ;o

It didnt matter what elky units got, his economy was way superior, it could be TAnks, goliaths, marines, or anything, his economy was just enough to do dumb stuff like vults vs goons

everyone uses mass vults after those couple reps of nada showing how poweorful it can be.. even when a newb like me uses it, it's pretty effective. I threw away like 20 vultures not really doing that much damage, switched to machine shops, and was still able to pretty much steam roll.. Vultures are just so cheap, so easy to mass off 2 bases :O

You can't win just comming out with a vult army but since you have so many vults if they leave ONE opening, say they leave their expo at another main open for a second, you can run in with 24 vultures, he can have 3 cannons or whatever and you can kill everything including the nexus before goons have the possibility of running up that ramp and protecting it. Ive been playing mass vult strat for a long time without dropship and yes, I'm not good but it's very very effective and I was surprised pros didn't use vults as much before. Ask gosexyperli (where are you, haven't seen you post in a while)

i think its useful if the toss do not adapt to the game fast, if he starts building masses of goons and expoing like mad with mad cannons he will rape the terran.

Ofcouse playing conventional will get your in trouble, but cannons costs 150, about 2 vultures, and a cannon can take like 5 non microed vultures, or more if they are attaked by probes also, so just playing defensive will do ok againt mass vults.

yeah but baal it's not 5 vults, it's more like 12-24, and 12 can take down 2 cannons, and once they breach that ramp reinforcements aren't oging to make it up there for like 30 seconds, enough to rape every probe and POSSIBLY kill the nexus, seriously.

obviously its not an autowin strat nor is it even uber strong, but I'm a big fan of it and have won many tvp on pure vult -_-

Hmm, all of you are suddenly discussing a new strat ,while it only has to do with the spare minerals you usually have on Dahlia and the inability to get a 2nd gas expo.l usually either go 5 or 6 fac on Dahlia before getting gas expo and reach to like 10 after getting it with going 2 before and 4 after taking gas for tanks.Getting port can be good ,but it depends on situation..
Gee ,I trained so much TvP on Dahlia and then didnt play a single game there on WCG.I think its the hardest tvp map out of the 4.
