the pylon trick to go through Terran wall-in

when you do this trick, are you supposed to shift+right click into his base? Or does your probe float inside automatically?

yea just put the probe on the place between the wall and where ur pylon is gonna build, and just keep clicking into his base once the pylon starts and ur probe is forced to float up

you need to have a running start toward the wall in. then build the pylon and start right clicking as previous posters have said.

I have never been able to do with without a running start, otherwise the probe just moves off to the side instead of going forward. it might be posible, but ive never done it.

Yeah just right click.. that's the way.. just figure out ur positions.. and sometimes it matters if ur attacking the depot or the rax.. gl

I'd practice it in single player (show me the money, operation cwal, the gathering) and just mc an scv and go make a wall at 9..keep right clicking to dictate where he tries to scramble out to, otherwise he'll try to sneak out in another direction

@ 9 you put the right corner of the barracks outside (Above) the depot. Where the normal no ling wallin the corner is inside (below). This is good cus then your marine can walk in and out of the wallin, and the pylon thing doesn't work.

beware some map authors purposely screw this up, in favor of other races etc, so dont always bargain on it to work. I believe if you also place your wall exceptionally low at 9, so its more horizontal, the probe has too much room to make pylon and cant float through, he'll always just walk around. But then you dont get as much shooting range over your choke.

On LT, you can only do it at 9 so its a trick with limited use...

I played a ums map where you have to use this a lot. basically zerglings are attacking and you have to build pylons/nexus to get past obstacles. So it has many good uses
