Thats the greatest mindgame I've ever heard about. This is even greater than Casy's fake expansion vs Julyzerg.

It is but even without knowing the context, you could just watch the game; the fake wall-in totally had JD going there.

I think you're missing the point of what a great mindfuck it was. Boxer is the King of mindgames, and something so simple yet so effective on the big stage is why he is the Emperor.

JD was getting ready to fight Fantasy as if he was playing Oov style. I was just stating even without watching the stage or reading the interview, Fantasy kept up the mindfuck.

I performed so badly throughout the entire season so I felt really sorry towards my teammates and coaching staff. Hence, I prepared even harder, and as a result, I was able to win today. I will continue to work hard and keep up this momentum. Mindgames. So despite his interview, Hyuk had a firm grasp of reality that his chances were low. I was impressed with his decision-making though. I feel Jaedong usually wins despite build order disadvantages because he makes good decisions when seeing what his opponent does - switching to mass lings, turtling, etc, but Hyuk didn't expose any weaknesses with his choices. I am happy with just the fact taht I can play as a member of SKT1, and I am happy that I am able to perform my best with the best players, under the best company. I will work hard to contribute to our team's win in the next season and fly the SKT1 flag once more. I believe! Canata's flair has improved a lot, he just needs game sense! I will also work hard to make SKT1 the strongest team. I also believe! Perhaps if you didn't have just one favorite build that was so predictable? On August 09 2009 02:06 konadora wrote: I saw Hwaseung players looking at us. I felt that if I were to be seen to be talking with Fantasy a lot, they would figure out that we were going to go for a strategic play, so we decided to trick them by making coach iloveoov talk to Fantasy instead and make it seem as though he was going for a macro game. As for me and coach Mumyung, we pretended to hold a conversation when we were actually giving Fantasy advice. Lots of others have quoted this already - but mental dominance. On August 09 2009 02:06 konadora wrote: - How did you think of this strategy? ▲ Boxer: The first time I thought up of this strategy was when we were playing simulated games after Hwaseung defeated CJ and sealed their place in the Grand Finals. I defeated Hyuk with this strategy and felt that it was such a good strategy. Even til then, Coach Park did not really support the strategy, but when I showed it for him to see personally, he was impressed. Hence, I told Fantasy about the build. I felt slightly uneasy after seeing Jaedong going fast spawning pool today, but after seeing that he was teching, I knew we had won. Boxer the strategist! Perhaps Jaedong, thinking that Fantasy was going for a macro game, decided for fast mutas as a timing attack. Jaedong also had an unorthodox build in mind, but it would have come out slower than supply/rax/rax. On August 09 2009 02:06 konadora wrote: ▲ Boxer: (Fantasy) said that anyone can win with that strategy, but among the SKT1 terran players, anyone can win with this except me. I won many games with good strategies so I don't think I could have done it (laughs). Hmm, Boxer has been acknowledging that he can't play to the level of the current players. It's sort of sad? But I'm glad he's facing reality. He still looked really happy when his teammates won, so I guess he's adopting to his new role? Thanks kona for the translation.

It is sad but at the same time I think Boxer knows his place among the stars. He'll probably make a return to play a bit in the next PL, or hell, even in the masters for fun - but he knows the Golden Mouse is out of the question so I think he is happier just being the old wise man of gaming.

Stop reading too much into it, its more likely that hes saying because Hes boxer, aka the cheesemaster, its more difficult for him to win on the big stage with a strategy like that as one would be very suspicious and cautious of him, the 2 points supporting this is that earlier he just said he beat Hyuk with it and this quote "I won many games with good strategies so I don't think I could have done it (laughs)". Anyone can do it, its a matter of getting away with it. So no Boxer hasnt given up or tossed in the towel yet. Also what the hell does Jaedong care who fantasy is talking to, he could be talking to boxer or oov its not a given jaedong would expect something from who he is talking to, more likely he wouldnt draw any conclusion from it, even more likely is that he would be talking to his own coaches prepping and preparing. Fantasy's build was sneaky, but I cant even say it approaches the level of Casy's trick on July. That was just pure ridiculous.

Beat JD with oOv macro and boxer innovation. How do you lose with that kind of help on your side? I however feel quite sorry for JD as he is second in line for my cheering (after T1) and I hope he takes umm.. actually I don't want him to take a starleague (cheer for the Terrans woot!). Hopefully his teammates can step up as they did today and truly make oz strong.

First off, there's no reason to get into a hissy fit over Zona's comment. He simply misread it and drew reasonable conclusions off of that. Second off, you never know. Fantasy/Boxer/Oov (forget which) even said that they saw the Oz players looking at them a lot.

I'll be really surprised if JD doesn't win at least one league (he's the HEAVY favorite in MSL, even as I root for Iris), which will make him the winningest Zerg ever. He'll be alright. I'm really impressed with SKT1 as a team, even as I now dislike them heavily, haha. Everything they do reeks of "champions" - they've simply got the flair.
