LAN is Finished. Thank you to everyone who came!
Do you live in Toronto/Mississauga/Markham/Hamilton/Waterloo? If you answered yes, then this lan is for you...
Where: YK Internet Café @ 5582 Yonge St. It is located just south of Yonge & Finch. Look for the Xerox building (it’s right on Yonge & Finch) which is just north of YK, and Shopper’s Drug Mart which is right next to YK. It is 1 min away from the Finch GO Station if you’re planning on taking public transit and very close to Finch subway station.

When: Sunday, August 23rd 12:00 PM (noon) – approx. 10:00 PM.
After talking to various people I have been advised to have this LAN on a Sunday because I was reminded that most people have Sunday off and a lot of people go to parties on Friday so Saturday is a day for there hang-over to pass (LOL) and other things.
What: Same thing as last time. Bring your own mouse/keyboard if you wish. Bring headphones since they only have speakers. We’ll be meeting at noon outside YK Internet Cafe to eat lunch somewhere (probably the decent Korean restaurant beside YK) and play for 5=6 hours starting from 1:00pm, eat dinner, and (if people are interested) go for a few more hours @ the internet cafe.
Cost: Lunch should be about $10.00 and dinner can be anywhere from $10-20 depending on what you order & alcohol consumption. The cost for the Lan itself will be $10.00.You must return your card before leaving otherwise there will bans and a charge for missing cards.
We will (most likely) be eating korean food for lunch and hopefully before this LAN happens we can plan something for Dinner.
There will be a tournament with the following prizes (might be increased)
1st Place = Free Dinner
If you are interested in coming then please include whether you think you will come to Lunch (before Lan) or Dinner (around 7pm)

OMG ive been on TL for 2 weeks now and i was thinking of how great it would be going to an SC lan party in toronto

There is no age limit so don't worry about it. Most of the people who come between the ages of 16 - 23 with some under and some over. Age is not a problem.

Yup! The Finch Go station is literally 1 minute walking distance to the internet cafe. You can get there via subway, go bus, viva, etc (forgetting the 2 others atm)

or a go bus, they run from around 5am-1:30am

There is one parking lot where you have to pay and then the one beside it (Shoppers Drugmart) that you don't have to pay but it has a limit but I don't think anyone checks on that.

To be honest, their mice and keyboards are really nice. If I can remember correctly, they use those korean keyboards (the boxer kind? but black) and razer mice. I don't think I even need to bring my equipments because I feel really comfortable with theirs but I don't want to blame the equipment in the case that I do lose.

Most of the keyboards are either a Logitech Keyboard /w Logitech Optical Mouse or the Samsung DT-35 (the one the progamers use).
edit: I would love to attend an OSL Finals Party in Toronto and it really doesn't matter where it is. I just wish I had a place to host one

of course. korean keyboards means no usable right Ctrl key, unless you go to control panel and edit it. imbalanced against toss.
i had a buggy mouse pad it offered too much resistance to the mouse, but placed it on the table without the mouse pad and it was nice enough. i may bring a spare this time but I hate carry anything at all so we'll see how that plays out.

I want to have dinner at St Louis Bar and Grill but we need to work out how the payment is going to be so certain people don't get screwed into covering for other people and having to pay an extra $20-40.

Its much cheaper then everyone ordering 9 wings + fries and we could just order 3-4 servings of fries but then if I order 100 wings I think they would all have the same flavour/sauce (i.e mild/hot/whaetver) so what is the standard acceptable flavour for wings that appeal to most ppl cause other ppl on the table could order wings for themselves that they prefer so we'd have 1 dish of 100 wings + 2-3 side order of fries + 5-6 other ppl ordering the wings that they like and I think it would be cheaper then everyone ordering their own wings.
Keep in mind that 9 wings (with fries) + drink is about $15.00 (or a little bit more) after taxes and stuff.
Anyways they have 100 wings for $75.00 so if you have that + 4 regular fries its still like $93.00 so for 93.00 your getting like 11 servings of 9 wings and fries which would have cost $110 (before tax).

Anyways they have 100 wings for $75.00 so if you have that + 4 regular fries its still like $93.00 so for 93.00 your getting like 11 servings of 9 wings and fries which would have cost $110 (before tax). Anyways, guys post what you think I think you can call and preorder wings (like 100 or something) even 3-4 hours in advance so we could wait till everyone is there before making a decision.

I actually called YK and booked it for Saturday like 3 days ago and then realized today because of slained's MSN that the LAN is actually on Sunday and called them back up to change it lol
I'm so used to all the Lans (and the last one) being on Saturday.

The LAN was amazing. It went pretty smoothly and dinner was amazing. I think their was no pictures cause pink didn't bring her camera. Did anyone get the reps of the finals. I forgot to ask them to upload them to a zip file to their email
