It's really a shame that nal_ra didn't play better. The "holy war" was pretty disappointing. If he had time to practice, he wouldn't have made mistakes like letting zerglings nearly take his nexus out because of a badly placed cannon, nor would he have lost the assimilator. Also, losing like 7 templars for a few zerglings or so was a really bad move.
But Tossgirl really surprised me. After her surprise win against Reach, I was shocked at her good decision making and her suddenly powerful macro. I was also shocked at how good her wraith micro was, although Boxer's decision to proxy his starport was a game-saving move, as he said. If she had more time to practice, she might have been able to beat him, even though he is the Terran Emperor.
Tossgirl tries hard and its starting to pay off, she's doing surprisingly well in games, even when she loses. Savior seems to be playing great so far and I hoped for more in the holy war too, but let's see if it ends up being a Savior vs Boxer final(even though Nada's gonna have something to say about that).
i can't imagine a player's performance varying more over the course of a week than tossgirl's has. i hated her for taking up a spot in this tournament after the yellow game, but i'm really interested in her after the boxer game.
i get the feeling that she is the kind of person that has to have external challenges to motivate herself. she should get herself transferred to a team with less depth. i bet she could be trained up to snipe a specific race on a specific map in the proleague with the right coaching/training, especially given the psychological pressure her presence exerts on her opponents.
it's so great getting to see boxer play again. damn shame about oov.
Group A 3-0 BoxeR 2-1 YellOw 1-2 Anytime 1-2 Tossgirl 1-3 Reach
Group B 3-0 sAviOr 3-0 NaDa 2-2 Nal_rA 1-3 Kingdom 0-4 iloveoov
BoxeR v YellOw Anytime v Tossgirl sAviOr v NaDa
If BoxeR wins and Anytime wins, YellOw and Anytime will tie at 2-2. YellOw won their game against one another, so theoretically he should advance, but they might have a tiebreaker. If BoxeR wins and Tossgirl wins, it is the same situation.
If YellOw wins, regardless of the other game, then he and BoxeR advance, Kong as A1 and BoxeR as A2. Naturally, everyone should hope for a YellOw win as it is the safest way to put the two most interesting players into the next round.
As for the other group, sAviOr and NaDa are advancing as predicted. It's just a question of who gets the first seed and who gets the second.
Overall a BoxeR/YellOw/sAviOr/NaDa Ro4 is probably the objective 'best' outcome. So I hope that's what happens.
I wouldn't be surprised if Boxer did a bunker rush for old times sake. He is advancing no matter what, so he might as well send Yellow into a deep depression. If it starts to look bad, he can transition into mech or something, since bunker rush is a viable opening for some mech builds.
Besides, it will make Anytime vs Tossgirl more interesting, because there's an outside chance that she can beat him and tie with Yellow if he loses to Boxer.
I really hope the Boxer vs Yellow match isn't first. It would be anticlimactic if Yellow won, securing both of them a spot in the Ro4, and making Anytime vs Tossgirl pointless by the time it starts.
