I been playing lots of BGH and money maps lately out of pure boredom (shh) and sometimes when I play people, they seem to be able to stack their probes/scvs perfectly and move together without them seperating, like one big probe coming to deal 50 damage per hit. Its really lame, cause obviously if you are doing something like a zeal rush then they can usually defend it where as in real games, you could pick them off individually..
Is this a hack or some function of "fastest money maps" that I never knew existed? Its happened at least 15 games out of like, the 100 ive played in the past 2 months on those kinda maps, but never seen it on iccup.. Odd.
I wish i could post reps but I just reformatted my computer on sunday =[

It's easy to do but is banned on iCCup and in tournaments and leagues. You select however many probes, hold down shift and spam right click a bunch of times on any vespene geyser, then shift+attack whatever you want to tame.

Are you sure it's banned on Icc? I get this done to me a lot.

That's a pretty vague rule. Obviously it directly applies to peon stacking (which is the intended effect, I'm sure, as it's clearly an exploit), but does it also loosely apply to muta stacking?

I don't think so, I guess it was originally written to counter the SCV stacking and the Zerg stacking that used to be possible. But yeah you're correct, strictly speaking it should include muta stacking.

It doesn't apply to muta stacking 100% sure.

Hmm, this sounds like it's banned regardless of when the player does it. I thought it's only banned if you do it offensively, not defensively :d

Air units stacking isn't a bug, that's how they work whether you do something weird or not. Hydralisks/zergling etc burrow stacking so that they can move and attack is. So is the Peon stacking thing. You're doing something fairly complex that tricks the game engine into letting them _attack move_ while stacked (which isn't the same as just clicking on a mineral and bunching them up to attack zealots in your mineral line or something.

The concept of what is and isn't banned is like this. A pretty common example is when you're being harrassed by lings/zealots, you grab all your workers, send them to gas so they move through the attacking units, then hit stop and attack, that way they can attack while the other unit glitches around. I think that is pretty easy to avoid and probably why it isn't banned.
An example of a bad use of this is say blue storm, T scouts the Z early, grabs 8-9 SCV's and uses the gas stack bug to move across the map to Z's nat while stacked, and then proceeds to destroy the Z's 12 hatch, once thats done, they run back to the base to continue mining. At this point all the Z has to do is leave and report the illegal move for a win.
