allow me to make my official statement
regarding the performance of the players: WHO GIVES A FUCK
chill and combat-ex both do good for the community and they both played a comical, not high level series whose primary purpose was to provide entertainment to the community, which (in my humble but entirely correct opinion) it did x100.
is chill good? is combat-ex B-? did both players try? the answers to these questions are irrelevant.
i mean honestly, this debate reminds me of funny videos on youtube. I'll watch one and die of laughter. then i'll read the comments and people will be having an INTENSE argument over whether or not the video was staged. really, at the end of the day, all that matters is that it was a funny damn video. just LAUGH for god's sake.
likewise, everyone is trying to figure out who really is the best player? was everyone trying?. allow me to settle it by saying that both players fucking rule and i would happily attend/commentate/spectate/participate in ANY event either player would host, whether outrageous or calm analytic behavior be required.
AMEN

Come on people on the internet, put chill in his place. Obviously I only get into challenges I know I can win micro. Come on now. If I could think of a good way to judge the challenge about whether it would be cheaper to order a wood shed or to build one from scratch, I'd get you.

jesus man you make it sound like combat is injecting people with alien mind control fluids. who cares if D- level players learn to play like him. If they take his advice, they'll definitely improve. if they want to keep improving, they'll look for other sources.
who cares if they think he's good or bad. Hell, people think i'm good but i do tons of shit wrong and have a bunch to work on
moreover, anyone who'd want to involve themselves in the community would immediately realize that tl.net is a warm community and a wealth of information, regardless of combat's opinion.
i firmly believe people should stop being so hostile towards combat. he puts out a sick number of commentary videos (almost 150 now?). obviously wintrading on iccup is deplorable, but i don't suddenly hate him and find him to be a worthless human being deserving of millions of pages of hatred and rage. events like this should be FUN, not an elaborate exercise in saying "fuck you" to make the winning side feel smug and justified in whatever opinions they have.
can't we all just be friends ?

Guys relax. Im a B- protoss and I don't even know how to wall in properly on some maps (including python). Alot of people think the point of this match was to prove that combat is shitty or good, but that wasn't the point at all. We all should know what level player he is, and we all know that he abused on iccup. The purpose of this match was for entertainment only. I for one had fun watching the games especially the random rage from combat and chill and day[9]'s commentary. I'm not going to bitch on forums about how good i think the players are. Just enjoy the games.

AMEN CLOSE THREAD Combat-Ex's "doing good" for the community is training D- level players to play like him, to brainwash them into thinking he is super gosu, then made them hate TL because we "forced" him to make an apology video in which he didn't do much apologizing at all. He gets people to play not fastest/bgh I guess, but what's the use if most of them are blind followers? jesus man you make it sound like combat is injecting people with alien mind control fluids. who cares if D- level players learn to play like him. If they take his advice, they'll definitely improve. if they want to keep improving, they'll look for other sources. who cares if they think he's good or bad. Hell, people think i'm good but i do tons of shit wrong and have a bunch to work on moreover, anyone who'd want to involve themselves in the community would immediately realize that tl.net is a warm community and a wealth of information, regardless of combat's opinion. i firmly believe people should stop being so hostile towards combat. he puts out a sick number of commentary videos (almost 150 now?). obviously wintrading on iccup is deplorable, but i don't suddenly hate him and find him to be a worthless human being deserving of millions of pages of hatred and rage. events like this should be FUN, not an elaborate exercise in saying "fuck you" to make the winning side feel smug and justified in whatever opinions they have. can't we all just be friends ? All you did with these series was to make Combat-EX look like a fucking douchebag, throwing down sarcastic commentaries about basically everything he did. Sure I laughed because I think he is pretty pathetic. But quoting what you just said really does not apply to "can't we all just be friends" if you first view the one hour spankfest from yesterday. Sorry Day[9], you're not that cool after all. not cool? i have over 500 pairs of aviators
