Combat is just a couple of levels lower than Chill. It has nothing to do with nerves. In Starcraft if you're a few Iccup ranks lower you struggle to win any game and have no chance in a Bo5. That's not a biased opinion. That's the opinion of anyone who understands Starcraft.

Even D+ tosses don't screw up sim cities on popular maps like Python (or at least I and other D+ tosses I've seen don't). I think, however, that Chill is either rusty, or wasn't even trying (should have been), since his play was kind of sloppy. edit: nvm I always thought "a couple" meant two. Okay, if you want me to be completely fair, Combat may have been better before, and was just rusty/not trying during this BO5 for whatever reason. But watching his FPVODs would strongly indicate otherwise. His skill level in those VODs looks like D+/C- to me. I may be wrong, since I'm barely D+ myself. It's just speculation. The reason I say Chill was rusty was because his play didn't seem like B-. I may be wrong, since I haven't seen too many games with B- players. Just speculation, again. In the end, the only important thing is that combat-ex was unequivocally and hilariously exposed as a lying blowhard to any who doubted he was, which is always fun.

When you see players who have very well-practised builds, everything looks tight. When you see players like myself and Combat, who are both decidedly bad, and play by feel instead of builds, you get the sloppy play shown in the VODs. I'm out of practise but I'm not THAT out of practise. I played 100 ICCup games last season, finishing high B-. I am B-. My play and results reflect that; no higher, no worse. Combat-Ex is not D+. I would put him decidedly at low C+. He understands the fundamentals and macro just fine. In game 2 he crushed me. He is not B- and certainly not B. Obviously I was trying every game.

WTF is it with Combat-EX and his fucking groupies not being able to type out full words? Shit man, I mean, I use small abbreviations like "WTF" and "TBH" here and there, but for god's sake, it's one or two extra letters most of the time! 2 = to. Oh my fucking god, one more letter! b = be. Again, one more letter! d = the. Two. Holy shit. Two. learn to type please. /angryrant I enjoyed the cast, it definitely made it worth it. Some of the humor was kind of lame, but to be completely honest, I just don't think Day[9] has enough asshole/douchebaggery in him. He's always just struck me as a manner guy.

Nice showmatch, I never really liked Combat-EX or his commentarys but it really seemed like he was extremely nervous here, I mean, if Chill is right and he is around C+ then I really can't see how all those building placement mistakes and multiple tech buildings of the same type can be anything but being nervous, maybe thats just how he is i have no idea. Thanks to the players and commentator and everyone behind organising this anyway~!!

While his building placement may be considered "stupid," it is not a mistake. He always walls himself in when he plays PvZ. The observatory thing was probably nerves though.

The wall-in thing looked very planned, though. Probably is something he always does. For what reason, God and Combat only know, but he definitely looked like he intended on doing that the whole time.
