He gets people to play not fastest/bgh I guess, but what's the use if most of them are blind followers? jesus man you make it sound like combat is injecting people with alien mind control fluids. who cares if D- level players learn to play like him. If they take his advice, they'll definitely improve. if they want to keep improving, they'll look for other sources. who cares if they think he's good or bad. Hell, people think i'm good but i do tons of shit wrong and have a bunch to work on moreover, anyone who'd want to involve themselves in the community would immediately realize that tl.net is a warm community and a wealth of information, regardless of combat's opinion. i firmly believe people should stop being so hostile towards combat. he puts out a sick number of commentary videos (almost 150 now?). obviously wintrading on iccup is deplorable, but i don't suddenly hate him and find him to be a worthless human being deserving of millions of pages of hatred and rage. events like this should be FUN, not an elaborate exercise in saying "fuck you" to make the winning side feel smug and justified in whatever opinions they have. can't we all just be friends ? Agreed (even though I'm not 100% certain you're not being sarcastic). Combat is getting way to much shit here. I bet half of the people spewing out hate would actually get their ass kicked by him. It's pretty obvious after the showmatch that Chill is a level higher than Combat, but the skill difference wasn't extreme and he doesn't deserve much of the treatment he gets. ''Lol, he made a mistake! Fucking noob, he's D+ at most!''. I get nervous even when I play without any audience at all, so I imagine playing with 1400+ viewers might lead some more mistakes than usual. Combat showed up and he won a game. Kudos to him for that; it turned out a fun event. He's been lying about his skill level if he has claimed he's B- (I just watched one of his fpvods, and in it he talked about how ''This guy seems pretty good'', and after the game it turned out he was playing on D level ), and he has abused. That sucks, but to me it seems as though he's quite sorry about it and is genuinely trying his best to amend (apology video, participating in this showmatch). As retarded as blind Combat-fanboys can seem to people on TL, many of his anti-fans seem to me. Not trying to start/continue an argument, just want to point out: 1. Doesn't matter who can kick whose ass, the hate is because of Combat's behavior and attitude. 2. He does not have any contact with those viewers, doesn't make a difference (neither does the number). The only thing that he would be nervous about is facing the fact that he's been lying and cheating to "B-". 3. What determines whether or not Combat deserves the treatment he gets? Is this something objective? If so, how would you quantify that? If it's subjective, then let people judge as they want. 4. I honestly doubt that he is genuinely sorry. The apology video, as pointed out by many, was horrible (as an apology video) and more of a justification of his side of things. Also, after apologizing, it seems that he's still abusing (not 100% about this, I heard somewhere). Once again, I'm not trying to start an argument. I just wanted to (somewhat) play Devil's advocate, cause personally I think you're letting Combat off too easily.
I think you definitely have valid issues (and I greatly appreciate your effort at not being confrontational).
To be honest, I'm just inherently an extremely friendly person that tends genuinely to like pretty much everyone I meet. Because I'm also very sensitive and empathetic, I hate the idea of a huge number of forum dwellers relentlessly bashing on ANYONE, regardless of whether they deserved it (by whatever metric of "deservedness" one uses).
I'm the sort of person who's willing to give 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th... etc chances because I firmly believe in the goodness of every person. Life's so much easier if you assume that everyone around you is awesome .

And pretty much the same goes for me.

I don't get why people hate on somebody they don't know. A lot of sheeples in this world just following the herd.

I really think Day[9] summed it all up with one(two?) words.
AAAAAAUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHHHH BUTTFUCK!!
seriously that was one of the most entertaining series I've ever watched if not just for Day[9] alone. But I never started laughing harder than in game 3 on blue storm when they just went back and forth like 'fag', 'stfu', 'newb', 'dumbshit' etc etc. I don't know, this whole series was a sarcastic celebration of bad manner which I think is great and healthy to get out of our systems where everyone is just constantly taking shit so seriously about gm or bm or abusing and whathaveyou.
definitely some mad props to combat just for showing up and showing a good performance in game 2. Honestly he does more for the starcraft community (at D/D+/C- level or whatever) than most of any of us on TL and that counts for something. Yeah some of the stuff he says is pretty conceited and he abused etc. but that's why we have things like this, to laugh at it and move on. At least he puts in the time and effort. And yeah I wanted Chill to just crush him mercilessly but it was just like being at a sporting match, no real hate. Also props to Chill for his modesty and admitting he's bad (even though I think B/B- is pretty damn good).
long live the grudge match and big thanks to Combat-EX, Chill and Day[9] for making it oh so entertaining and hilarious. I'm off to go find that bear semen energy drink so I can cast like Day.

I guarantee that a vast preponderance of the evidence upon which you base all your understandings of reality are based on the opinions or findings of other people. Any religious or scientific community utterly dwarfs any community that might've perpetrated love or hate for somebody as insignificant as Combat-ex. Compared to the herds that everyone follows, whatever groupthink you think happened is a fly on the windshield.

I didn't like how aggressive day was in the commentary. No need to be so mean! But a fun series. Wish I could've watched this live.

How is his argument invalid? you still don't really know him. and why are you flaming zeitgeist?

In combat-ex's defense that was the BEST series of insults i have ever seen out of a sc2gg (yeah i know he's not sc2gg anymore big woop he's still sc2gg) commentator. If we ever do TL vs SC2GG again you should have him cast.

haha, i've yet to see sc2gg commentators trash talk like that i mean look at cholera, klazart, rise, etc, they have basically never sworn in a game

No one can say with any certainty what Klazart has or hasn't said during casts because he is incomprehensible

just epic showcast by day, <3 cool matches but in cast was so damn funnier

Klazart dropped the F bomb when his probe glitched through the rax SCV. He did kind of what SDM did and didn't cast for like a half minute.

Day[9]'s commentary was entertaining. I think he has the potential to be at least as good of a strategic commentator as Tasteless, but we didn't get to hear much of it because of the nature of the match. Consider this a request for Day[9] to start commentating OSL/MSL/etc.

i know i lost ...and really i shouldn't be talking due to that although i feel the necessity to post this
ok, game 1. i got smashed hard, nothing else to it game 3 was me being a dumbass and thinking 'i dont wanna play on a Z favoured map' so i switched my build like 1/2 way T.T game 4 was again, my fault, although i feel that it didn't really show skill as opposed to being caught off guard
and i would like to point out game 2, not only because i won, but because we both played very standard and i won VERY decisively. now tell me, if 2 players play VERY standard, and i manage to win that badly, how is it to show that i'm not B- (if anything, at least C+) i remember before this bo5 happened, everyone thought id get crushed and humiliated, which i would say, only happened in game 1 sure chill beat me in a bo5, but if chill beat another B- player in a bo5, would that mean that the guy that chill beat isn't B-? ....i hate to open your eyes to the fact that there is more then 1 B- player in the world.. so, in the end, even though i lost, i will still stand with my opinion on being a B- player
and finally, to prove this... because i didn't beat chill, i will most likely be making a new account and streaming all my games to get to B- (probably B) as of now, i have an account that is C+ with no abuse, and its not even late season.
thats enuff from me, i didn't bother reading all 81 pages of this, only pages after 75... and it seems to me everyone thinks im C level...... i have a C+ account atm, so...that kinda speaks for itself
